First off, I know there's a dedicated area in big/slim/whatever but I'm after traffic as it's a bit quiet in the WW section. Second, I know that 5:2 and low carb are popular on MN but neither of them suit me whereas I've lost weight with WW in the fairly distant past and regained due to unrelated issues which I'll leave out for now. I'm sure there are plenty of opinions on why it doesn't work but for me it does.

Just wondering if anyone is thinking of signing up and would like a support thread over on the WW board. I have at least 4st to lose and would appreciate it. I can't go to meetings as they don't fit in with work, so will be doing it online (half price on the website at the moment and Top Cashback give a few quid back). Anyone in?

Wow! Can definitely recommend the chicken jalfrezi recipe in the Smartstart book. Was really lovely. I gave the accompaniments a miss (apart from the rice) and pointed it up as 3pts for the curry and 6pts for the rice.

The sticky sausage open sandwich was lovely too (9pts)- I left out the bread and had a nicer sausage, but the roasted onions with it were very tasty.

No points left for today, wish I could have yours Emochild Envy

Me! Starting (again) as soon as I am back from holiday (eaten my own body weight in cheese over Christmas) Wednesday is the day, will update with how much I need to loose exactly when I get home and weigh in (3 stone and something I think)

GiGiraffe · 02/01/2017 20:15

Emochild - I'm 6'1 (waves) know the feeling of being the one with the goal weight more like everyone else's starting weight

insertcoolusernamehere · 02/01/2017 22:11

I was really hungry this evening! Had a big dinner with the kids, around 5:30 as normal, but was still really hungry after putting DS to bed. Ate a small banana, my (planned) small chocolate bar and had a cuppa... still hungry 😳 Ended up using my last 2 sp and 3 weeklies having a toasted thin bagel and a big glass of water! Feeling like a bit of a fatty!!

JenniferYellowHat1980 · 02/01/2017 22:29

insertcoolusername don't know about yours, but my body is used to eating cast quantities of crap over the last few weeks so might take a little bit of acclimatising to the good stuff Grin

So far so good 👍 And that's two days down. I can't sleep if I'm hungry so have to save points for the evening. I used to eat tons of chocolate in the evening but now its porridge to fill me.

Early days I know but we are all doing quite well.

insertcoolusernamehere · 03/01/2017 06:36

JenniferYellowHat1980 haha! Yes your spot on there! I'm also breastfeeding my 8.5 month old so I don't want to entirely ignore what my body is telling me either, just need to make sure it's a healthy choice not a large chocolate bar lol x

nightnurse66 · 03/01/2017 09:59

Looking for breakfast ideas ideally under 10pts please

insertcoolusernamehere · 03/01/2017 10:14

I had cinnamon porridge with caramelised banana and 2 tsp of Demerara sugar. 7sp and nice and filling Smile
Cook 40g of oats with 200ml water and 100ml skimmed milk. Pinch of salt and 1/4 tsp of cinnamon. I use a small pan as I think it gives a nicer consistency.
Slice the banana and caramelise the slices in a frying pan. You can use frylight but if you have a good non stick pan it shouldn't be necessary. Then assemble! It really is yummy!

JennyWreny · 03/01/2017 10:44

nightnurse66 Really enjoyed this for 6 points this morning. Smartstart book suggests reduced fat sausage, fried egg (in spray) and a slice of WW bread, and 2 bacon medallions, but I swapped all of that for 2 x back bacon to go with the mushrooms and tomatoes.

JennyWreny · 03/01/2017 10:50

insertcoolusernamehere That sounds lovely, have added it to my recipes online. Just wanted to check though, do you use all of the Demerara to caramelise the bananas or sprinkle it on top?

insertcoolusernamehere · 03/01/2017 11:14

I just sprinkle it on top. The sugar in the banana caramelises itself

Hopelass · 03/01/2017 15:30

I'm in. Lost 2 stone three years ago on ww and a stone of it has crept back on. I've signed up online but not officially starting until Monday as there is still loads of unhealthy food to eat up after Christmas. I'm getting to grips with smart points as it's new to me. Good luck everyone.

Hopelass · 03/01/2017 15:32

Stats are height 5'5" current weight 10st 7lb. Goal is 9st. I'd like to achieve it by Mothers Day (26th March) so have given myself plenty of time.

JenniferYellowHat1980 · 03/01/2017 19:24

Work today - started at a new job and lunch was provided. It was a beef curry thing with rice so I hope that hasn't done too much damage. Spent the day shivering my balls off in a freezing old building so that should have burned some cals! I've also done 15k steps Smile

Emochild · 03/01/2017 20:13

I've been tortured today -1st day back at school and we have a chocolate theme this term

Argh!!!!!!!

IcaMorgan · 03/01/2017 20:23

I've been doing ww since Nov and have lost 9lbs (even lost over Christmas).

I've found the best sausages are Heck chicken italia ones, they are 3 points for 5 and taste really nice

TheSnowFairy · 03/01/2017 20:40

Blimey op, well done on your 15k steps! Have done about 3k (sedentary job but dragged DH round the block a few times to get steps up).

Breakfast was toast & honey, no lunch, then salmon, mash & lots of veg for tea.

Also drinking hot water rather than tea so I don't want cakes or biscuits. Luckily there are no staff birthdays for a bit!

poorpaws · 03/01/2017 23:50

Hehe Jennifer I beat you, I did 18,000 steps! ''Twas a glorious day so I took the dogs to the beach and didn't want to come home. You will definitely be a faster walker than me though I'm soooo slow.

Hair cut tomorrow so I'm bound to lose a pound 😂

poorpaws · 03/01/2017 23:52

Jenny I'm in bed on my iPad and craving your breakfast, I'm actually drooling.

JennyWreny · 04/01/2017 09:08

Sorry poorpaws it's probably bad form to post photos of food on this thread Blush. I was just excited at how nice my breakfast looked for just 6 points!

insertcoolusernamehere am just eating my cinnamon porridge with caramelised bananas. Really tasty. Thanks.

IcaMorgan I've been to the shops this morning and bought some of those sausages - they were on special offer, so even better.

GiGiraffe · 04/01/2017 14:33

Right, back from holiday and weighing in at 15'13.8, am 6'1. I am going aim for the top of my healthy BMI at 13'6.
I am nearly a stone lighter than this time last year, which is nice but am about to have a big birthday this month, so want to improve my health and just feel comfortable only own skin.

thehoundschicken · 04/01/2017 16:23

Champagneformyrealfriends · 04/01/2017 16:53

Last night I went and joined a meeting again-£32 for 3 months membership, which takes me to DD's 1st birthday. I really want to feel confident enough to have my photo taken with her. I made a chilli last night for tea this evening, going to do a curry for tea tomorrow and try to plan at least 2 meals a day. Hope everyone else is doing well Smile

lilygirl81 · 04/01/2017 19:18

Officially started back today, almost cried at the scales! Thankfully I'm just doing it online so no one to see my shame.

I'm struggling to use my extra points for breastfeeding. Today I've had:
Breakfast- oats so simple with extra honey
Lunch- cheese omelette
Dinner- blue cheese & broccoli gnocchi bake plus a slice of ww bread and a banana.

I've also had a gingerbread biscuit and planning on having a packet of French fries, a crumpet and jam and a big glass of milk, leaving me 2 points unused!!
