First off, I know there's a dedicated area in big/slim/whatever but I'm after traffic as it's a bit quiet in the WW section. Second, I know that 5:2 and low carb are popular on MN but neither of them suit me whereas I've lost weight with WW in the fairly distant past and regained due to unrelated issues which I'll leave out for now. I'm sure there are plenty of opinions on why it doesn't work but for me it does.

Just wondering if anyone is thinking of signing up and would like a support thread over on the WW board. I have at least 4st to lose and would appreciate it. I can't go to meetings as they don't fit in with work, so will be doing it online (half price on the website at the moment and Top Cashback give a few quid back). Anyone in?

My turkey burgers turned into a meatloaf which was really tasty so have posted on recipes thread.

Working from home today apart from a meeting in Costa at 11. I plan to walk there (about 45mins) to get some fit points. I had fruit and fibre with tinned fruit for breakfast. Leftover meatloaf for lunch then I'm having my satay stir fry for dinner. Actually I'll post that too!

Have a good day folks.

Thanks twinmummy.

As a matter of interest, I put in my current age and my goal weight into my WW calculator, to see what I might be on when I get close to goal (which is still a long way off!). It says I would be on 30sp. Doesn't give me the weeklies. Looks like I will see a further reduction of 10sp to my daily points gradually over the upcoming months.

EditEcho · 06/04/2017 10:55

Glad to be staying on 30sp so, bemused at how weeklies are assigned but will go with it! Today is a desk day so trying to keep a lid on snacks. Have filled my desk with fruit (which I'm currently eating way too much of to be honest).

dorothymichaels · 08/04/2017 07:33

How is everyone doing? DH just brought me poached egg on toast for breakfast which was very lovely.
Opinions please - no count or count for holiday next week? Mother-in-law serves mostly meat and potatoes based food. She's kindly offered to buy WW bread and there's always access to fruit. One night away planned in a B&B.... I can't decide what to do. Thinking of trying this week on no count to see how it goes.

EditEcho · 08/04/2017 09:00

Dorothy if you are staying with family I think you can go with whatever you prefer.

We are going to a local family owned Greek place for lunch- so no calorie counts! Anyone have suggestions for reasonably pointed Greek food? Was thinking simple meat with side of salad is probably best? But I'll miss the hummus!

dorothymichaels · 08/04/2017 09:39

Yes I'd go for kebabs with greek salad and steer clear of the bread. Avoid cheese pie. Oh how I love Greek cheese pie...

I stress about holidays. I have a tendency to think, 'sod it' and binge. Really don't want to do that though.

CiderwithBuda · 08/04/2017 10:40

Haven't posted for a bit but am still sort of plodding away. I weigh in on Tuesday. After a boozy weekend and pizza for dinner on Monday night I gained 1.5 this week. But I knew I would.

Been good all week since until last night when I had wine and crisps. And I've just had toast with butter and marmalade for breakfast. That's it treat wise though now. Back on it. Feeling bloated after the toast.

Hoping to BBQ this evening so that should be ok. I'll stick to meat and salad. If we don't BBQ it will be home made curry with cauliflower rice.

I have to be honest and say although I'm eating well and healthy I haven't been tracking. I need to get my head around that properly. And Fitpoints.

MIL is coming on Thursday for Easter so I need to plan food for the weekend. She likes fairly traditional stuff so I figure if I plan it all with WW recipes I should be ok.

And yes I need to up the water intake too. I tend to drink lots of cups of tea. Although I can't drink tea after 6pm or I can't sleep so evenings are herbal teas.

EditEcho · 11/04/2017 09:24

How's everyone getting on?

I used quite a few weeklies over the weekend (lunch out and BBQ to celebrate the sun!). Half a pound down this morning, which I'm fine with as it's 9.5lbs over 3 weeks. 4 weeks until my holidays and would love to be down a stone by then!

dorothymichaels · 11/04/2017 09:29

My scales are rubbish. I can stand on them three times in a row and get different results 4lb apart! So I'm going with the lowest one I get! Which means I lost 2lb last week. Certainly feeling like clothes are looser and friend commented she thought I'd lost weight on Saturday. I may ditch them and weigh myself monthly in boots or something.

I tried one day on no count yesterday and hated it! It's not easy to fit in with the rest of the family in our house so I'm a definite counter. Leaving for in-laws on Saturday. One of my favourite things about that trip is the breakfast buffet on the overnight ferry! I'll eat eggs and cut the rind off bacon and avoid the bread. Then splurge on the fruit salad!

EditEcho · 11/04/2017 09:43

I haven't tried NoCount but definitely think I prefer counting. Especially as I end up eating on the go a lot (work over a few sites) so easier to be able to grab something and work it out.

Think I'm going to leave holiday shopping for another 2 weeks but may need to face the fact that I won't be much smaller by then!

Miffytastic · 11/04/2017 14:02

Doing alright, lost 0.5 at weigh in last night. I'm ok with that as had friends over at the weekend and I think I used all my weeklies on fizz, so I was certainly over points that day. I think what saved me was all the exercising and walking I did last week - 76 fit points apparently.

Got 1lb till I'm in the no paying zone and 2lbs to 1 stone marker. Would like to lose 7 to drop into single stone figures. Going to keep on trying as would love to achieve all this by the end of May.

Miffytastic · 11/04/2017 14:03

Dorothy -I'm the same, I'm already a bit nervous about Easter Sunday feast that my parents put on, never mind the chocolate

sez49 · 11/04/2017 20:56

4.5lbs off for me this week. Yet another week of eating quite a few of my fitpoints too. My daily points have dropped another 1 sp from today too.

IggyStrop · 11/04/2017 20:58

I'm back, have been away for a week. Didn't bother counting (and had no wifi to do so) but I think I did fairly OK. Not going to weigh in - going to make sure this week is an excellent one and weigh in next week!

EditEcho · 12/04/2017 09:16

Well done Sez, glad you have clearly gotten past your plateau! Welcome back Iggy, it's hard to make good choices on holidays. I'm at a course today, have filled my bag with fruit to keep me away from the biscuits.

sez49 · 12/04/2017 14:10

Hope you enjoyed your holiday Iggy and are getting back in the swing of it now you are back.

Thanks Edit. Yes I seem to have moved past that plateau and I have been eating lots of fitpoints over the last four weeks! Well done for being prepared today to avoid the temptation of lots of biscuits.

Well done on the 0.5lb Miffy and the 2lb dorothy.

I tried no count, a for a few days, a few months back. I put on 4lbs that week! That may have not been anything to do with no count, as I worked out the sp and it was very similar to my points allowance so I don't think I was eating particularly more than on a counting day. But it did put me off no count! I used to do several weeks on the filling and healthy (no count) as it was back in the past and lost regularly, so I know it works. I would like to try fitting in the occasional no count day, but definitely find the flexibility of sp easier for most of the time. There is a FB group page 'WW - no count friends' which has lots of great no count meal ideas/food suggestions. I joined so I can just look for ideas that I can convert to sp.

IggyStrop · 12/04/2017 18:37

Wow sez I just noticed your 4.5lb loss! That is amazing - well done you.

Well, I weighed myself today and I am a 2lb heavier. Am disappointed -but I should've known. I put on weight SO easily these days.

Hey ho - onwards and upwards.

sez49 · 12/04/2017 19:29

Thanks Iggy. It is so easy to put it on, but if you get back on track you should be able to undo the damage quickly enough.

dorothymichaels · 13/04/2017 13:13

Hi all. At my desk today, no fit points accumulated but at least making some progress on my PhD... I did vigorously wash windows first thing this morning!

I made mini crustless quiches for lunch and had them with salad and a piece of toast, with a tiny bit of low fat mayo on the side. They were lovely. Really easy to make in advance for a couple of days.

Shopping for holiday later on today. I'm going to buy: oatsosimple for an easy breakfast, WW bread (MIL gets all bread from bakers) and chocolate chip rice cakes. Plenty of fruit and veg and skimmed milk on offer there. Any other suggestions?

EditEcho · 13/04/2017 13:37

Hi Dorothy, can you share that recipe? I'm at my desk today too so will not get many points. Will try do some exercise this evening though. I have earned 45 since Tuesday though so I'm keeping away from them; I'm easily hitting 120-130 a week and I'm sure I won't lose a thing if I eat them!

Depends what you like to eat I think- I obsessively meal plan and order accordingly!

EditEcho · 13/04/2017 13:38

Sorry- just noticed you will be staying with inlaws. I think lots of fruit and some filling snacks. Does MIL know you are doing WW?

dorothymichaels · 13/04/2017 15:33

MIL doesn't speak English and is a bit of a fusser so she knows but I've told her I'll bring anything special I need and do some shopping. She always has mini-egg things all over the house at Easter but I reckon they will be about 2sp each so can have one a day and savour it!

Quiches. I chopped up some peppers and mushrooms and put them in a mini muffin tray (4 muffins worth). Mixed up 3 eggs and 40g of grated cheddar with salt and pepper and divided over the veg. Baked about 15 minutes at 180. They were very nice.

dorothymichaels · 13/04/2017 15:34

They work out at 5SP for two. So with some salad and a slice of very lightly spread toast with a squirt of mayo it was a 9SP lunch.

sez49 · 21/04/2017 22:31

How is everyone doing after Easter? I managed to point in some Easter treats, but had much less than I would have previously done! Managed to get my 100lbs this week.

Theworldisfullofidiots · 22/04/2017 08:41
