First off, I know there's a dedicated area in big/slim/whatever but I'm after traffic as it's a bit quiet in the WW section. Second, I know that 5:2 and low carb are popular on MN but neither of them suit me whereas I've lost weight with WW in the fairly distant past and regained due to unrelated issues which I'll leave out for now. I'm sure there are plenty of opinions on why it doesn't work but for me it does.

Just wondering if anyone is thinking of signing up and would like a support thread over on the WW board. I have at least 4st to lose and would appreciate it. I can't go to meetings as they don't fit in with work, so will be doing it online (half price on the website at the moment and Top Cashback give a few quid back). Anyone in?

I took measurements when I started, plan on measuring again at the start of June

sez49 · 19/05/2017 22:13

That's great Supermum! Be interesting to see how the measurements go for you BG2015.

Sometimes I think slow and steady is probably better and more maintainable. Reading about hitting a plateau and thinking of it as your body adjusting to your new normal

sez49 · 20/05/2017 12:11

TWIFOI - yes that is a good way to look at it. I definitely think the body does need time to adjust to the new normal.

Theworldisfullofidiots · 22/05/2017 07:07

I went out to lunch yesterday and it was amazing (photos included). No idea how to point it. It was terrine of rabbit with a tube of rabbit parfait, stone bass with squid and foamy crab bisque, taste tatin (the really bad bit) and some little bits in between courses. I had watermelon for breakfast and nothing else. I also had 2 glasses of wine. Use all my weeklies and my points for the day to be on the safe side?

BG2015 · 22/05/2017 07:54

No idea how to point it. I'd just use all my weeklies, be extra careful until weigh in day, drink loads of water and try and up your exercise if you can!

Theworldisfullofidiots · 22/05/2017 08:13

Thanks. I weighed myself this morning and have stayed the same but of course it might show up later in the week...

sez49 · 22/05/2017 10:07

TWIFOI - I agree, I would probably use my weekly and daily points to be safe. As BG2015 says drink plenty of water, up the exercise a bit if you can. And just try to stick with your daily points for the rest of the week. If you do loads of exercise and earn lots of fitpoints, then probably no harm in using a few if it helps you to stay on plan.

Want2bSupermum · 23/05/2017 16:01

Somehow I lost weight this week. 1.2lbs to be precise taking my total loss to 15lbs.

I have a hard time tracking my points. I guess as best as I can and book more if in doubt. I'm super pleased I've lost weight this week. I really need to figure out my exercise. I don't have time to walk for hours each day. I need to sweat it out somewhere a couple of times a week.

Theworldisfullofidiots · 23/05/2017 17:32

Woo hoo Supermum!
Let us know where you decide to sweat it out. (looking for ideas although I have a dodgy achilles tendon and Im waiting for my referral to come through)

sez49 · 23/05/2017 20:39

Well done Supermum.

Want2bSupermum · 23/05/2017 23:38

Well I am fortunate to live in NYC burb where they offer everything. I'm thinking about joining the gym where I can do classes, use machines and also do weights. It's $50 a month though and we are buying a home which is at the very top of our budget. In the new house I should be able to do stuff at home again.

Theworldisfullofidiots · 26/05/2017 07:16

I lost 1.5 lb this week, 9.5 lbs. I'm noticing a difference in how clothes fit. I'm also being meticulous about pointing and planning where I can. And sometimes having to make choices. Bought a heavy from m+s and ended up giving it a way as it was much higher in points than I expected. (Decided I'd rather have a glass of wine). I haven't got into exercise yet except from doing tge garden and allotment.
I'm thinking about running and maybe doing some strength work if I decide to join a gym. I'm desperately trying to avoid saggy skin, which is also why I want to lose slowly (I also think it's more sustainable and requires smaller changes).

Theworldisfullofidiots · 26/05/2017 07:17

Heavy = jelly Blush

BG2015 · 26/05/2017 17:41

I've lost 1.2lb this week, 4.8lb over 4 weeks. Slow and steady - I have 9.2lb left to go.

sez49 · 26/05/2017 21:36

Well done on the losses.

Yes planning is key for me at times and as you say, TWIFOI, making choices. Do I want this for x points, or would I rather than spend those points on something else instead. Allowing treats is what helps keep me going. I just have to decide which treats are more important to me that week. 😄

Theworldisfullofidiots · 29/05/2017 18:08

Boring as it sounds I'm thinking of doing a meal plan for the week before shopping tomorrow. I love cooking and eating different things and I'm more likely to go over points when eating on the hoof.

Jasper4 · 29/05/2017 19:12

Hey, started today with the WW book. I've thrown away my broken scales and just going to concentrate on eating my 30sp and see how good I feel in my clothes. Not going to meetings I'm not good with other people. I've done the PP before and got so obsessed with the scales and tape measure I was unbearable. So this time I know I have about 2 stone/28lb to loose and will just concentrate on my portion sizes and weighing out my food.

I do have a few questions for you who are on the SP. How long have you been doing the diet? and how much have you lost in that time?

I just need to know the SP diet does work.

sez49 · 29/05/2017 21:24

Jasper I have been on plan since July last year. Have lost over 7st. Had a few, undeserved, stay the sames and gains, but I think that is more down to my age and changing hormones. It works. I have mostly done SP but more recently trying a few no count days too.

Want2bSupermum · 30/05/2017 00:05

So I went for my weekly meeting on Saturday and gained. It was a reflection of my eating habits last week and I've really struggled to get the exercise in.

I've been back on track since my Saturday meeting and back down to the weight the week before. Focused on going into this week with the goal of losing what I gained and getting to 175 which would be an overall weight loss of half a pound.

Want2bSupermum · 30/05/2017 00:06

jasper I've been on the plan since mid march, doing minimal exercise but sticking with points (not last week though) and I've lost 15lbs. Not bad for 10 weeks.

BG2015 · 30/05/2017 06:23

jasper I've been following the plan for 4 weeks, I only need to lose a stone and I've lost 4.8lb so far which I'm pleased about. I'm eating really well and exercising (but always exercised anyway)

I always plan my lunches and evening meals and shop accordingly it helps me stay on track knowing what I'm eating.

Theworldisfullofidiots · 30/05/2017 07:52

I've been doing it for 5 weeks and lost 9.5 lb. I did it before pre children and finding tge plan easier this time round.

Theworldisfullofidiots · 02/06/2017 07:21

Another 1.5 lbs gone so 11.5 lbs in total. V happy.

BG2015 · 02/06/2017 07:34

Well done.

I've STS after a boozy weekend in London so happy with that!
