So who else is back to the WW routine in January?

I lost weight slowly and steadily on the 'filling and healthy' ww plan last year. Lost 16lbs over 16 weeks and I am back within my gold buffer zone but not quite where I'd like to be yet. Have had a couple of weeks off over christmas but planning to weigh in on Monday at my meeting...which I expecte will be rammed!
I also need to increase the exercise as that waned a bit in December.

Hope to have some company on this board for the new year. What are your aims?

I find weekends hard as well.

DH is doing a Christmas dinner type dinner today as his mam didn't get one in December. Trying to be good, have only used 5 points today and have 32 weeklies and 3 active points left.

Harverina · 11/01/2015 16:30

Well done bit! Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 11/01/2015 17:03

Christmas dinner can be ok if you lay off the pigs in blankets. Enjoy it!

Cpt574 · 11/01/2015 17:38

Well I have made two batches of soup and have nearly hit my 10,000 step target, let's hope i can keep it up, I don't often manage longer than one day! I am hoping posting here might keep me motivated and accountable.

Rainicorn · 11/01/2015 18:29

Luckily I hate pigs in blankets and stuffing, so really I just had Turkey, mash and veg Grin. It's the puddings I am terrible with.

I've made some tomato soup and need advice on points.

The recipe contained vine tomatoes, onion, garlic, 1 large potato, a drop of olive oil, vegetable stock cube and water.

I've made a large pan full and it will do a fair few lunches this week but unsure what to point it as?

NoLongerJustAShopGirl · 11/01/2015 19:04

hevs..

A 200g (when raw) potato is 4 points and the oil is 1 point per teaspoon, stock cube may be 1 point (oxo is 0) - so 6 to 8 points for the whole batch depending on the weight of the potato.

I use the recipe builder on the esource online.

hevs10593 · 11/01/2015 19:09

I think it'll be 1pp per serving. I could kick myself, I should of weighed it but i don't think it'll have been 200g

Rainicorn · 11/01/2015 22:27

Put a fork in me I'm done.

Dinner was pointed very low. Pudding was 17pp eek!

GingerLemonTea · 11/01/2015 23:34

Aargh! Not doing well. Weigh in not til Wed but have used all my extra 49 already. Am now into activity points which I don't even want to use. It's only week 1 but I'm not in the zone. Still have 2 full days to turn it around though.
Have been eating badly for a while with lots of sugar for energy as I'm only getting 5 hours broken sleep a night & still breastfeeding so I have cut down this week but still it's not a great start!

Rainicorn · 12/01/2015 09:19

Ginger, don't be hard on yourself. Try eating more fruit and veg to bulk up your meals and snacks.

Weigh in for me this morning. I have lost 4lbs. Whilst it is a good loss, I am a bit disappointed as I thought I would have lost a bit more. I blame the huge dinner I had yesterday. Luckily I won't be eating like that every week.

Summer, stock up on fruit and veg, lean cuts of meat and wholewheat pasta/bread.

I don't really bother with diet food as they're usually full of sugar anyway. I'd rather have one proper choc digestive than two diet ones for the same amount of pp.

GingerLemonTea · 12/01/2015 10:37

I have synced with my Fitbit One. Only earned 5 this week. Need to move more.

BackToTheFuschia · 12/01/2015 13:49

Hello! Can I join please? Weighed in on sat so just starting my first week, but feeling really motivated!
Was looking for inspiration for satisfying snacks if anyone's got some good ideas please? Doing f&h and trying not to delve too deep into my weekly points!
Got 3st 4 to be within goal weight.

NoLongerJustAShopGirl · 12/01/2015 13:59

Find yourself some 0/1/2/3/4 point snacks...
When only something substantial and treat like will do, I go for

Jacobs oddities, 25g snack pack - NOT from a bigger pack as I would munch on... 3pt,
Wagon Wheel 4pt
Butterkist toffee popcorn (others are NOT the same!) 30g snack pack 3pt

when I just want to feel fuller I go for a 0point sugar free jelly with pineapple - 0points

or add that to a meringue nest for 1pt and some low fat yoghurt for another point - 2 points, substantial dessert, looks like an eton mess....

But, I am counting points not doing F&H, so don't know what exactly can and can't be had without weekly points.

BackToTheFuschia · 12/01/2015 14:03

Thanks nolonger those are some great ideas. I like the idea of the meringue nests! I've been having Greek yog, mixed berries and sugar free jelly as a free dessert.
I've just had a cup of tea and that's helped a bit; hot and sweet has satisfied that craving!

ethelb · 12/01/2015 16:17

I need to go out for a walk to hit today's target and this weather is really not making me feel like it. I may walk to Lidl to get some smoked salmon and white wine to make it worth it....

colleysmill · 12/01/2015 17:18

The weekends are my total downfall although I think I'm still within my points if I've counted right thanks to starting running again.

Weigh in tomorrow night -Fingers crossed for a good week

ethelb · 12/01/2015 20:16

Colley if the weekends are where you use the most points can you change your weigh in day to Friday or Saturday. I weigh in Friday or Saturday morning. That way you get through the weekend with all your points!

Summer I don't know if its too late for your big shop but I second Rain's advice. I just did my big shop and I got lots of fish, veg, lean meat (steak), cottage cheese, cream cheese, yogurt, eggs and ryvita type things along with tortilla wraps and pittas (3pp per wrap as opposed to 4pp for two slices of bread to make a sandwich). Also got humous and smoked salmon to pepp up some salads. Parmesan as well as when it is grated it isn't too many pp to add some flavour to some dishes. Got some tinned soups for snacks but I don't know if you can get those where you are?

I also added to the condiments rack too with some lemon pepper, celery salt and paprika. Lots of naice vinegars for salad dressings.

'Treats' wise I have pp all the Christmas crap left over in little baggies and also got wine and tonic water for spirits as it is far fewer pp than beer! I also got some naice herbal tea bags to rehydrate with after exercise and also when I get the urge to pour another glass of wine after dinner, but maybe that is just me Blush

colleysmill · 12/01/2015 22:15

Unfortunately my meeting is on a Tuesday and the other local one is in the daytime.

My problem would still be I have too much weekend and not enough points Grin despite upping my exercise!
