So who else is back to the WW routine in January?

I lost weight slowly and steadily on the 'filling and healthy' ww plan last year. Lost 16lbs over 16 weeks and I am back within my gold buffer zone but not quite where I'd like to be yet. Have had a couple of weeks off over christmas but planning to weigh in on Monday at my meeting...which I expecte will be rammed!
I also need to increase the exercise as that waned a bit in December.

Hope to have some company on this board for the new year. What are your aims?

We have two miffys!
I out on a pound at meeting tonight. That's ok considering the time of year, chocolate etc...

I kind of do Wendie with my points. I said at a meeting in December that the new 'your way' book is using the Wendie approach and the whole room and the leader looked blankly at me. I babbled on and felt like a ww geek Blush

I have been doing ww since November but put on 3 lb over Xmas Confused

First day seriously back on it today. I tried spinning and hated it. Sooo boring and it hurt my bum. Can't wait for zumba to restart.

hevs10593 · 06/01/2015 07:20

Ethelb how did you find spinning? I'm reall struggling with it and can't ride 'out of the saddle' I enjoy cycling but I need to keep working at it before I'm fit enough to keep up and actually follow the instructor!

Rainicorn · 06/01/2015 09:49

I tried spinning once, nearly fell off the bike in exhaustion.

Managed fine yesterday, need to increase my fluid intake though. Normally guzzle litres of coca cola.

Going swimming tonight, ladies night at my local pool.

ethelb · 06/01/2015 10:04

I found I couldn't really do the out of the seat bits but also couldn't actually sit on the seat as it was too narrow. I genuinly couldn't tell where your bum is supposed to go. I am also surprised that the seat is standard. As someone with v wide hips I was told I need a wide seat to ensure I don't get lumbar back problems so I'm not sure how you are supposed to spin if this is the case? Does anyone know?

I also have v narrow feet which kept on flying out of the pedals on the stood up bits so all in all I feel like I just don't 'fit' spinning. It was also mind numbingly dull.

I tried to go to yoga this am but the class was full by the time I got there. On the upside Lidl had a load of fitness stuff in and I'm going to try doing a YouTube exercise video with my new fitness bands!

Anyone actually done any sucessful new exercise yet?

Miffytastic · 06/01/2015 12:03

I'm another zumba lover...never tried spinning, you're not tempting me;) Though I have to say re: zumba it can vary a lot according to instructor and the music they choose, I've yet to find my perfect combination but the class that includes proud mary and amazingly 80s cool down tunes is my top choice, but it's a 35 min drive away

I lost 2 pounds this week, I am really going to have to start exercising to shift the last stone.

I did go to Lidl this morning and looked at the fitness stuff they have in, does that count?

SuperDuperJezebel · 06/01/2015 14:33

I got to goal in sept (lost 114lb) and then went on honeymoon and gained a stone. Got back down to about 5lb under goal before Xmas, then took 2 and a half weeks off to find myself 5lb above it! Granted, I ate a lot but really? 10lb? Am a helper at meetimgs and most people who said they went mad gained 2-3lb. Looks like I just can't ever go off plan ever ever ever!

hevs10593 · 06/01/2015 15:01

I went spinning last night and I'm going tonight, I need to increase my fitness and stamina so that I can "ride out of the saddle" I found it challenging last night but I think I'm the only beginner so I feel silly sitting down cause I can't yet stand up. Last night the instructor was really challenging too.

ethelb · 06/01/2015 15:37

Six geese definitely! I went a bit nuts and got some new jogging bottoms and weights Confused and little clip boxes for all my healthy snacks that I'm obviously going to make. Wink

I'm planning on shredding later and wondered how to calculate calories burned? I put it manually into my fitbit. Is it just intense aerobics?

GingerLemonTea · 06/01/2015 16:13

I will join please. Am going to first meeting tomorrow though I have done wws in the past. Think I have 3 stone to lose or more.

Rainicorn · 06/01/2015 20:08

Swim done. Been a while since I've been swimming, going to ache in the morning. 3 active points to use though. Wonder what I can have out the kids selection boxes Wink

What has everyone had for tea tonight? I had a lovely mussel/rice/vegetable concoction for 14 points

hevs10593 · 06/01/2015 20:31

Superduperjezebel I need some motivation!! I was 2 lb under goal now I'm back to goal but I've just eaten a mince pie, nuts and finished off the pack of chocolate digestives. I love having time off work at Christmas but it throws my routine all off! It's weigh in day tomorrow too!

colleysmill · 06/01/2015 20:44

I'm in :) been going since October and lost 12lb (over 5%) up til Christmas.

Brief Christmas blip of 1.5lb on but I've lost that and another lb this week. Just a pesky half pound off the stone mark and then another 2and a half stone to go. I'm going for goal by June (hopefully)

spottymoo · 06/01/2015 21:19

2nd day back on it ditched the fizzy drinks and back on the water. Had an amazing pasta bolonsise with roasted veggies and pasta for tea. Have 13 points left this evening so will be having a cornetto and some chocolate Grin

pinkstinks · 06/01/2015 21:48

I've been to Insanity at the gym.
I can't move. How can my fitness decrease so much in the two weeks off Blush

heavenlyblue · 06/01/2015 22:53

We can keep it active Grin

I had a really good day yesterday -stuck with filling and healthy and really upped the ante exercise wise with 3 miles of walking (school run) and then I went running in the evening for 3.5 miles (for the first time in ages)

Sounds like we have a similar amount lose summer how are you finding it so far?

NoLongerJustAShopGirl · 08/01/2015 07:44

I joined yesterday. Going to do pro-points for now til I see what the other stuff is all about (did WW about 10 years ago on points - it worked til I stopped going and decided I liked Pringles!)

Got a lovely, lively, friendly group where about 20 stay for the meeting and have a cup of tea with the chat - suits me perfectly.

Aiming for 52lb in 52weeks.... I have a lot to get rid of... meeting mantra was

Do NOT say you are losing weight - you are deliberately getting rid of it, losing implies a lack of effort and that you want to find it again!

Rainicorn · 08/01/2015 14:15

Hi to the newbies.

Has anyone tried the M&S balanced stuff yet? I've just had tikka and rice salad, it was quite nice, 8pp though. Was eating on the go today.

Rainicorn · 08/01/2015 14:16

NoLonger, you could always use your 49 weeklies for your Pringles fix Wink

NoLongerJustAShopGirl · 08/01/2015 14:37

Rainicorn I'd need a lot more than 49 points once I start on the Pringles!
