So who else is back to the WW routine in January?

I lost weight slowly and steadily on the 'filling and healthy' ww plan last year. Lost 16lbs over 16 weeks and I am back within my gold buffer zone but not quite where I'd like to be yet. Have had a couple of weeks off over christmas but planning to weigh in on Monday at my meeting...which I expecte will be rammed!
I also need to increase the exercise as that waned a bit in December.

Hope to have some company on this board for the new year. What are your aims?

I'm still here! I check every day or so but there's no one to talk to.

j200 · 11/07/2015 07:13

Hi all

I've just joined with my last stone of baby weight to lose. Weigh in Monday but don't think I've lost anything as was a lb heavier yesterday Hmm

am on 26 points and have used 30 of my weeklies but aiming to not use anymore. Do you think it's better to not use any weeklies to see results?

Finding it tough as even though I eat lots of fruit and veg, I eat lots of protein too which really adds up!

Would love support/inspiration from all you lovely ladies- how is everyone doing? onwards and downwards! X

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 11/07/2015 07:39

I find soup at lunch time really fill me up. if you make zero point soup you can have it as an afternoon "snack"

I'm a Gold Member, but after each of my children I went back, lost a bit then got pg again!Grin
our baby (7th & last!) is almost 1 so I need to get on with it, but I don't like starting until I know I can be "in the zone" and really concentrate.
which will not happen for a while - all kids home soon for summer, 4 birthdays, being away etc then in Sept hopefully building work will start for extension so I anticipate added stress and less mental strength while dealing with all that.
plus we will have to live at PILs for 4 months - again more stress I won't be able to get away from and less freedom to eat & cook what I want.
I'm so desperate to start again but it's not the right time for meSad

why I'm here is because I do want to get back into better habits and hoping for support.

Is it still ProPoints or did they change it all again since '13?

j200 · 11/07/2015 08:22

Thanks I might try making some soup as a snack instead of ryvita or yoghurt to save points

I've just joined online and am on points but never done it before so can't comment on whether it has changed

Wow 7 children, i am impressed! This is my first and no idea how i would cope with more!!

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 11/07/2015 11:45

easiest zero point soup I make often is cooking oninons, carrots, courgettes and garlic with some stock powder.
don't chop, only peel the veg.
cook till soft then puree. add salt & pepper.
(without seasoning you can save some for baby, if large amounts freeze some - very efficient!)

Noregrets78 · 11/07/2015 15:13

Hello I started WW about a week ago... Supposed to be going to meetings, but domestic crises keep getting in the way! Determined to go on Wed for the first time, although after that Guides will have finished, so I'll need to take DD... Anyone know if you can take kids to meetings?
Personally I love poached eggs at the moment, 2 points per egg, and very filling. I definitely like the idea of no point soup, although I'm never sure if spending no points then eating chocolate in the evenings is the best way to go lols.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 11/07/2015 15:18

yes you can but it is like weddings or planes, they are supposed to be quiet!Grin

how old is your DD?

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 11/07/2015 15:19

and I meant to say that pureed soups will fill you up so much eventually your cravings will be supressed.

Noregrets78 · 11/07/2015 16:16

Good way of putting it! She's just turned 11 and very good at sitting on the iPad so will be fine!

Smokeyrobinson · 12/07/2015 09:01

Hallo - may I join in? I have a lot to lose (6 stone) and am looking for inspiration and motivation. I did WW 8 years ago very successfully, but stopped going when my lovely leader left and her replacement wasn't at all pleasant or helpful.

After maintaining for years I've now been through the menopause and put it all back on again plus an extra 1/2 stone Sad. What an idiot I am. But I've now given myself a hard kick up the (very well upholstered) bum and rejoined. I'm lucky to have found a great leader and very convenient class with a lovely group of people. So why do I still lack motivation? Confused

I suppose I feel it's too much of a mountain to climb for a second time and that I'll never be able to do it. I've lost only 3lb so far over 4 weeks so it's going to a long slow process. But I really feel terribly unhealthy due to being overweight - breathless, no energy, very bad back, achy joints, can't fit in my clothes etc etc etc so I have to persevere otherwise I'll get even bigger and feel even worse.

Look forward to supporting each other - here's some Flowers for my fellow WWs.

Any one done fill and heathy but ate weetabix as part of the deit

Weekipper · 26/07/2015 16:25

Hello everyone,
I rejoined for a trial month online. I've WWed twice before. 1st time lost 10lbs in 8 weeks then put weight on after hols and didn't want to go back. 2nd time was 4 years ago and lost 30lbs over 6 months and have maintained this loss despite 2 pregnancies.
BUT, I've never reached a healthy weight/goal so now that's my long term goal.
I'm breastfeeding so on 41pts a day which seems loads.
Hope everyone is feeling on point. Smile

skinnyamericano · 27/07/2015 18:38

Hi, I'm about 6 weeks in and have lost nearly a stone. I'm finding it ok, but seem to put on about 4 lbs over the weekend, then spend the week slogging my guts out to lose that plus another 1lb!

I really need to get to grips with that!

Are you feeling hungry a lot?
I'm only on 26 points a day which can be quite hard-going.

My main concern is our all-inclusive holiday in August. I know I'm going to put loads on.

How old is your baby?

Weekipper · 28/07/2015 10:18

Hi Skinny!

That's great, are you finding it ok at 26pts? Do you eat all your weeklys and activity points?

My DD2 is 12 weeks. This time around I didn't put on much weight apart from baby because of reflux, which limited eating. But I was overweight to start with.

I'm not too hungry at the moment. I need to be vigilant though as I'm faced with tempting treats when meeting friends. Like today I'm meeting up with colleagues (teachers) and it's bring a dish. So I'm bringing homemade meringues, strawbs and cream. I'll avoid the cream but also need to limit crisps which are my snack of choice. ????????

Weekipper · 28/07/2015 10:19

Sorry I see you say it's a slog. I used to eat lots of no point soup and crackerbreads.

skinnyamericano · 29/07/2015 16:36

Congratulations on your baby DD!

I will try the soup and cracker breads - good idea. I'm having a very meagre day today, as I will weigh in on Friday and still haven't lost last weekend's weight. Think I'll try to summon up the energy for a run too. I'm going out for dinner tomorrow night, so will have to plan that carefully as well.

Hope you managed to avoid the crisps - it's amazing how easy it is to shovel a few points in without realising, isn't it?

Hope you are enjoying your summer holidays.

Weekipper · 30/07/2015 17:43

I had a few crisps but eating whilst holding baby and keeping an eye on the toddler meant I couldn't eat much anyway.

I'm trying not to worry but since I've been on point it feels like I don't have much milk. But I am eating all my points and now, trying to drink a lot. Fingers crossed she's just growing.

Weekipper · 30/07/2015 17:44

Hope your dinner is lush!

Donthackmenow · 04/08/2015 21:54

Hello, I signed up online at the end of last week. I need to lose 2.5 stone but am breaking if down. I am hoping to lose the half a stone I have put on since the holidays started before September and go from there. Unfortunately I am finding it VERY hard to stop snacking on crap and am struggling with meeting up with friends. I really do need to do this as I am feeling very miserable and down Sad.

Ishtar2410 · 07/08/2015 18:09

I've been on and off WW since 2010, was a leader during 2011 (just after ProPoints launched), but since then I have put on what I lost plus a stone.

For some reason I've been finding it very hard to stick to it....I rejoined in April and have played with the same 3lbs ever since. All I can say is that I haven't grown any bigger since then Smile.

I eat all my daily points, weeklies are used each day, plus I use all my activity points. I earn upwards of 50 pp per week (in training for half marathon), so there's no way I'm missing out on those!

I'm still here though and I'm not giving up this time. One day I'll be back at goal.

LalaMarsh · 10/08/2015 14:26

Hi Everyone,

This is my first time on Mumsnet or any kind of forum really but I feel like I could do with a bit of moral support because my weight is getting me down, more than it ever has and I was thinking about joining WW and I just wondered if anyone had any helpful tips or advise please?

I have joined SW a few times and each time I either stay the same or gain weight and I think its because of my portion sizes and feeling like I have a green light to eat huge amounts of food because they're considered 'Free' as such.

From what I've been reading, WW seems to have more control and I think at this point, control is what I need :-) so if someone could tell me how it works or how its worked for them, that would be great.

Thank you :-)

Heels99 · 17/08/2015 12:58

Can I join need to lose 3 stone . Started today.

WhatLizzyDid · 20/08/2015 11:40

Hi! I started on Monday. I'm on 26 points. What are your thoughts on using weeklies and exercise points? X

Whenwillwe3meetagain · 20/08/2015 23:09

Weeklies are there to be eaten! Exercise points if you need to. I've a bit to lose so am not eating them but I can eat 35 a day so it's plenty.

WhatLizzyDid · 21/08/2015 18:27

Thanks whenwillwe3 - I've manages to do mon-fri without eating into my weeklies too much. Weekends are always a challenge though so I'm sure I'll be using them up!

How are you getting on Heels99?
