So who else is back to the WW routine in January?

I lost weight slowly and steadily on the 'filling and healthy' ww plan last year. Lost 16lbs over 16 weeks and I am back within my gold buffer zone but not quite where I'd like to be yet. Have had a couple of weeks off over christmas but planning to weigh in on Monday at my meeting...which I expecte will be rammed!
I also need to increase the exercise as that waned a bit in December.

Hope to have some company on this board for the new year. What are your aims?

I would work on 0.5 points per square. Since there aren't half points you might as well have 2 not 1

Like wise if you have 3 you will have to round up to 2 points so you might as well have 4!!

vickibee · 23/03/2015 11:01

I went out for a carvery on SUnday and no idea what the points are. I had a generous slice of turkey and beef (don't know weight) carrots, broccoli and beans all zreo, a stuffing ball, 2 samll roast pots and 2 small new pots, I abstained the yorkshire pud even though I love them. Can anyone advise how many points to record? I have guessed 15 but no idea

hevs10593 · 23/03/2015 21:28

According to the eat out book looking at Toby carvery:
Turkey 6
Roast beef 12
100g stuffing 2
3 roast potatoes 7
100g baby potatoes 2
Carrots 100g 2 - not sure why?

This is from the eat out book. The meats don't give a weight for the points so it must be approx in the serving size, confused to why carrots have points too.

PenguinsandtheTantrumofDoom · 23/03/2015 21:30

dressed in butter maybe?

hevs10593 · 23/03/2015 21:35

Probably. I love carvery cauliflower cheese and 100g is only 1pp! Thought it would be more actually..

ChillySundays · 24/03/2015 18:51

I was so chuffed when I saw how few points are in the cauliflower cheese.

Roseybee10 · 26/03/2015 08:31

Got 1lb off this week yay after Sts for the past 3 weeks.
6lbs to go and aiming to get it off by the start of May.

dotty2 · 26/03/2015 09:13

Well done, Rosey. I STS this week, but am premenstrual, so hoping I might have a bit of an underlying loss. Am 4 weeks in now, and am starting to find it a bit more of a struggle but keep reminding myself it's a long haul not a quick fix.

ethelb · 27/03/2015 16:54

Crap weigh in today. I am 1lb off goal and wedding is in 3 weeks and I stayed the same last week and only dropped 0.5lb this week. And that was only after the leader got me to get back on the scales (first reading was stay the same and second was - 0.5lb). The thing is that I only have one more weigh in before the wedding (can't go next week and the final one would be the day before the wedding and I can't imagine it will be top of my priority list) and I'm convinced I won't lose as it is the week after Easter (I always put on weight over the holidays but then, admittedly lose it v quickly ie the following week).

I'm really considering taking a break from weigh ins until after the honeymoon (I would still point and do my own weigh in at Boots or something) but feel disloyal to my group who have supported me so much in the run up to the wedding.

Admittedly a 0.5lb loss is not going to make any difference to how I look on my wedding day, but I'm feeling so crap about not making it to goal before my wedding that I'm worried about obsessing over weigh ins at meeting and maybe just need to drop it for a little while.

Has anyone taken a sucessful break before? Did it help? Or was it a really really bad idea?

ethelb · 27/03/2015 16:56

Sorry, typo, I am 0.5lb off goal.

annielostit · 27/03/2015 17:37

Ethelb, don't worry about the tiny teeny half pound.
Your going to have a beautiful day and a new life. Your trained to make sensible choices now.
Step away from the scales and enjoy.
Fwiw, I was 11,2 when I left for my wedding abroad I got married & by the end of the fortnight on honeymoon was 11,9.
He still loves me @ 12-5. 8 yrs on.

hedgehogsdontbite · 29/03/2015 10:51

I went up by 0.1kg this week so am feeling a bit miserable. I wouldn't mind if I'd binged or cheated but I didn't, I've stuck to my points. :(

dotty2 · 30/03/2015 14:14

Hedgehogs - do you really mean 0.1kg? That's 100g, or half a small glass of water. So surely that's a STS - and we all know it's not a steady down ward line. People hover around the same weight for a bit and then have a good loss after a week or two - don't lose heart.

hedgehogsdontbite · 30/03/2015 17:56

I know I'm being daft. Scientist DH keeps telling me that it's statistically insignificant :o

I think I may have under guestimated the points value of my homemade hot cross buns. I counted them as bread rolls but I now suspect they're a lot more. We can't buy them, or anything like them, over here so they aren't in any of the books.

ChillySundays · 30/03/2015 18:19

An old leader used to tell us 'don't get too hung up about each week. Look at it over a month'. Especially if you get bloated and put on weight at certain times of the month.

dotty2 · 31/03/2015 06:41

Home made hot cross buns sound lush, but I guess quite a lot more calorie dense than bread rolls. But as Chilly says, it could just be a blip - and definitely not worth worrying about whatever (starts to feel nostalgic about the days of having tiny babies weighed, when 100g really did make a significant difference...)

hevs10593 · 02/04/2015 07:05

New day and fresh start! Going to do an 16:8 mini fast and then fast on Friday as usual to try and get back on track.

Christinayangstwistedsister · 02/04/2015 11:03

Hello

Can I join in?

Was going to join slimming world but joined ww online instead.

hevs10593 · 02/04/2015 15:22

Ooops I posted that previous post in the wrong thread. I'm trying 5:2 to maintain my weight but using WW maintenance points on non fast days to help track what I'm eating! This thread seems to have slowly died off

KitKat1985 · 05/04/2015 10:28

Hello. [Waves to all]. Joined weight watchers in the week to lose my baby weight (had DD in September). Can I join this thread? Was 11 stone 3 and a half stone at joining, and am aiming for 10 stone (I'm 5'5). I turn 30 in the summer and I want the weight gone by then. Found this week quite a challenge (two meals out, drinks for a friends birthday, and of course chocolate and Easter treats everywhere - which I haven't yet touched) but still in my points allowance at the moment. I'm taking advantage of being on mat leave to do some walking each day. I'm not finding family and friends in real life very supportive (there's a lot of 'go on, one slice of cake won't hurt') so hoping for some support here. x

siucra · 06/04/2015 09:39

Hello everyone!
Am following filling and healthy and things are going well. However, I have been invited to a dinner party and am worried that I will eat loads. I won't be in control of what I am eating and don't want to be impolite. Any tips?

KitKat1985 · 06/04/2015 19:21

Siucra can you tell the host in advance that you are doing WW? Maybe they could make some minor adjustments to keep the meal healthier (e.g grill instead of fry things). Could you also maybe say in advance that you won't be having dessert, or would the host be offended?

Miffytastic · 06/04/2015 20:11

Oh so I've been away from here, I've been on a girls weekend away and it's been easter...guess what, I've gained 3 pounds! So I'm now 8lbs over goal and 3 into paying zone. Newish leader was great tonight and let me off paying but with a stern word. I'm all buoyed up to get back to it thanks to her and my friend who is doing really well and losing steadily (who I promised a lift home to!)

Welcome KitKat :) I know that kind of well meaning sabotage! I find WW weeklies are sufficiently generous to allow for a wee bit of that, but not loads /every day...

KitKat1985 · 07/04/2015 08:33

Oh well done Miffy for vowing to get back on the wagon! It's hard to stick to things when you have holidays and special events to go to, so I wouldn't worry too much about it as long as you pick things up again when you return to normality.

First weigh in was today and I've lost 1 and three quarters pounds. I'm actually slightly disappointed as I was hoping for more even though I know that's actually a pretty okay weight loss. I've also had a week with meals out / drinks / easter etc so it was probably unrealistic to have hoped for more.

16lbs to go!
