So who else is back to the WW routine in January?

I lost weight slowly and steadily on the 'filling and healthy' ww plan last year. Lost 16lbs over 16 weeks and I am back within my gold buffer zone but not quite where I'd like to be yet. Have had a couple of weeks off over christmas but planning to weigh in on Monday at my meeting...which I expecte will be rammed!
I also need to increase the exercise as that waned a bit in December.

Hope to have some company on this board for the new year. What are your aims?

How is everyone doing? What days do you weigh? I do Friday as we tend to be very indulgent at the weekend with social stuff plus roast or big Sunday family meal plus wine & more wine ;) Friday gives me time to drop off the weeklies and earn some exercise points to ease the guilt!

I have broken my evening drink habit Blush and had two clear nights, I actually feel so much better for it, I've slept well and I just look better in my face. I did have 6 pts over at the end of the day so I had a cuppa and a chunk of my easter egg (DH got me the Ostrich egg from Hotel chocolat, its amazingly gorgeous and I still have over a quarter of it left plus a tray of chocs) and we watched a film. It's not a bad habit to be breaking, it's not before time I did it either!

What has everyone been eating? Last few days here has been:

Breakfast, whole meal thin toasted with sliced banana and cinnamon on top (3pts)

Lunch, Covent garden 'souper greens' soup with a wholemeal thin and salad - half a carton of soup is only 3pts and you get lots, with the thin it's a 6pt lunch.

Dinner has been jacket pot (small) with a small slice of quiche and salad and yesterday I did a clean eating greek chicken with greek salad (Low fat feta) and a whole meal pasta with pesto salad. Both meals worked out around 10pts.

I've just had left over salad and chicken for lunch but no breakfast as I was out early for a meeting.

I tend to eat maybe too much fruit for snacks, but I also throw in slimfast chocolate bars, nuts, baked crisps, eggs etc. I found that aniseed balls are about 5 for 1pt so when I crave something sweet or carby I suck one of those to kill the craving! I like to have an evening treat, especially now I'm curbing the school night booze! so try to save enough points for a few squares of chocolate or a meringue to eat in bed with a cup of tea. I also only have normal tea at the start and end of the day to reduce milk points so I have earl grey or herbal or black coffee in the day time.

Signed back to the gym today, my weight gain started when i stopped being a gym bunny despite being a fairly steady runner! What do you all do activity point wise use them or ignore them? I use them myself, I lost 3 stone before and although it wasn't overnight it was steady and more sane when I had the extras to use for eating out etc.

Enough waffling, I have work to do ;) Hope it's going well for you all!

X

OOhh, because I didn't sy enough up there.. What are you all snacking on? {cake} ?

Redcherries · 07/05/2015 13:22

Say/ Cake Blush

hedgehogsdontbite · 07/05/2015 13:50

I weigh in on a Sunday. We normally go out on a Saturday and it means I get to start again fresh if I fall off the wagon.

I snack on bananas and chocolate because I normally have lots of points to use up. I'm down to 34pts a day now.

poorpaws · 08/05/2015 00:30

Day 1 done.
I weigh on Sunday too. My favourite sweet snack is a meringue nest crumbled (1ppt for most nests 2ppts for some) with WW fromage frais over (1ppt) and lots of fresh raspberries on top. Quite a large bowl of sweety goodness for very few ppoints. I also snack on low fat ice cream, lite crisps, curly wurlys. If ever I'm really hungry I have a bowl of porridge.

Some years ago when I did very well on ww the very best leader I ever had advised me to use all weekly points. She had done this herself and lost steadily and kept the weight off. I haven't been doing this recently trying for a quicker loss and so have binged and failed dramatically so this is my new plan. Today I had all my ppts and don't feel quite so "on a diet AGAIN".

hedgehogsdontbite · 11/05/2015 05:36

I passed my 10% weight loss goal again

poorpaws · 12/05/2015 00:30

Well done hedgehogs. I'm doing ok now, definitely back on track.

Where is everyone? I was going to ask how much weight we all want to lose but no-ones around. I'd be very happy to lose about 1st 7lbs (can't see that happening just yet).

hedgehogsdontbite · 12/05/2015 06:35

I've lost 2st so far and want to lose another 7.

poorpaws · 12/05/2015 23:47

Well done for 2st loss Hedgehogs that's brilliant (and 2 dress sizes?)

Half a stone at a time is the way forward I think. If we concentrate on the whole loss it's a bit daunting.

I had a kit kat tonight (out of weekly points) it tasted amazing! I used to eat 3 at a time but they never tasted so good as this one tonight.

Has everyone else left Hedgehogs? Are we doing this alone? They'll be sorry and we'll be slim. Wink

hedgehogsdontbite · 13/05/2015 12:32

I think it's just us. There was a bit of tumbleweed at one point but it got bored and left too.

hedgehogsdontbite · 13/05/2015 12:37

I try to think in 10kg chunks. I do find the total weight loss beyond my comprehension as it's been so long since I was there.

I'm still wearing the same clothes so far. I don't want to buy new until I have to because I have a lot to go and don't want clothes in every size. Although my trousers nearly fell down the other day so it may be time Blush.

PenguinsandtheTantrumofDoom · 13/05/2015 13:59

I'm here Grin

I started with 12kg to lose. I was 82.2 and want to get down to 70. I'm currently at 77.2, so I've lost 5kg. Kicking myself though that I didn't realise for ages that I couldn't lose weight on the mini pill. So in 6 months I lost about 1kg.

Still, onwards and upwards.

I weigh in on a Monday. Although I often do a cheeky weigh on a Friday and have gained by Monday, I figure it's a more 'real' measure of where I am.

Well done on two stone. Smile

poorpaws · 14/05/2015 00:01

Very sensible hedgehogs. When I lost 3 stones 3 years ago I didn't think id do it (I'd failed so many times before and since) so every time I went down a dress size I bought loads of clothes (not really expensive ones but so many it added up) and now I've got wardrobes full of 18, 16, 14 and 12 sizes. I'm currently a large 14 having gained 2 stones back and now lost half a stone of that. Talk about a yoyo dieter! I felt amazing in a size 12 and I'm so cross with myself for putting it back on.

Perhaps a cheap pair of trousers Hedgehogs just to cover your dignity.

Hi Peguins glad you are still with us. I really struggle with kgs still the old stones for me Blush but I think I've managed to convert it.

Really hoping for at least a 1lb loss on Sunday. I'm really trying.

Good luck this week everyone.

pinkstinks · 14/05/2015 23:09

Hello all drifted away for a while and found my weight loss plateu. I six stone down now (weighed tonight 3 more off) and need to get reinspored and back on filling and healthy. It's so much harder now and easy to get off track. Well done you guys for keepin it up too :)

Redcherries · 15/05/2015 12:44

I'm still here, lamenting weighing 2lbs less at the start of the week than I do now. What is that about? Means a 1lb loss this week so still good. I have split my favourite jeans today though, they never seemed too tight and had elastic in them. Oh well.

One of the reasons I'm dieting now is my refusal to have more than 1 clothes size in my wardrobe, as soon as I start to drift up a size I jump straight back to WW. I was a 14/16 and got to a 10, starting to drift to a 12 at the mo, but I replaced my whole wardrobe and gave away all of y old clothes and I'm not doing it again ;) I hope you do get out to shop Hedgehogs!

Does everyone have weekend plans? We have a big meal/night out tomorrow for someone's Bday so I'm saving my weeklies and activity pts. It's Italian and I am so tempted by a pizza, must resist!!

Well done on the 10%/2 stone and the 5KG!

Talking filling and healthy, does anyone use this on and off say if you've a day at home so you know exactly what your eating but don't want to count? Does it impact on weight loss?

OurGlass · 16/05/2015 11:30

Signed back up. For the last time.

13st 61/2 at 5"5. Terrible, can't believe I've done it again. I've been this weight twice and lost it twice to get to my goal of 10st 6lbs. I obviously need weight watchers in my life forever.

Back on it girls and guys!

poorpaws · 17/05/2015 22:57

Well I was certain I'd lose 2 lbs this week, absolutely certain. It had to be at the very very least 2lbs, probably more. I'd walked my poor dogs legs off and kept to my points religiously and for the first time in a long time I looked forward to getting on those scales.

I lost 1 lb yes just 1 bloomin pound. I know 1 lb off is good but really after all the effort 1 bloody lb

mandy214 · 17/05/2015 23:07

The lady in front of me at WW weigh in last week had done a 10 km run (and training runs in the days upto the run) and gained 2.5lbs Shock. She was gutted. Leader said it'd come off next week.

Have been doing it for 2 weeks, lost 4.5lbs so far and am determined to keep at it. I have about 1.5 stones to lose, previous gold member but usually lose commitment / motivation about 8 weeks in.

Redcherries · 18/05/2015 12:19

I wonder if the ladys gain was water in her muscle repairing the run damage, I always put on when I first increase my exercise to higher impact.

So we are all coming down, even with the only a lb losers! Get us!

I have managed to curb my wine intake significantly so definitely benefiting in two ways, mustn't let it creep back in! We did have a seriously heavy night on Sat for a friends birthday, I crawled into bed at 5.30 in the morning after 12 hours of partying! Thank heavens for weeklies!

Poorpaws, your name sounds very apt this week! I think my little dog would appreciate a walk but it's tipping down here :( He's curled up on the chair next to me in the office snoring like a trooper!

Need to food shop later, we're going for a clean eating plan this week, lots of ideas stolen from pinterest!

One and a half pounds off this week. Thank goodness for that because I was ready for giving up. I tried very hard the week before and stayed within my points and I gained half a pound! I was so upset and furious that I didn't post here. So instead of going into a decline as I usually do I tried even harder and RESULT. I'm very happy. Another stone off and I'll be even happier.

Good luck for all those weigh-ins this week.

Hello harpy - slimming world didn't work for me I actually gained weight so stay with us.

Redcherries · 01/06/2015 14:21

Well, i had a .2 gain last week, guessing water weight as I was due on. I had an awful weekend, unexpected lunch + wine with friend, unplanned dinner + wine with friends and then Sunday dinner plus drinks with friends. I didn't point it but estimate I used all dailys plus weeklies and still went 30 over. I should get that back in activity points between this mornings gym classes and tomorrows but then we have a long birthday lunch on Thursday and 2 occasions on the weekend. I'm doomed. I've never gone over before!

Hi Harpy, I tried 5:2 and it made my tummy too hungry!

Well done on the loss Poorpaws!

hedgehogsdontbite · 10/06/2015 06:46

I've completely fallen off the wagon the last couple of weeks. I don't know what's wrong with me. I've been following the plan for months with no problems, not feeling deprived and gradually losing weight. Then all of a sudden I can't do it. I feel driven to eat rubbish and have no control. I hate feeling like this and don't know where it comes from.

poorpaws · 10/06/2015 23:54

Hi hedgehogs I wondered where you'd gone! Don't give up draw a line under the last couple of weeks and come out fighting. We've all been where you are but it was a little blip nothing permanent. Come on girl I know you can do it and so do you deep down. Deep breath. ......... Start again.
(I need your support too so come back).
