Half a stone before Christmas? Whose joining me?

I'm on day 3 (yes, early days I know) of the PP plan. I've done WW in the past but gave put it all back on a year on from having my son.

I'm planning on going for achievable. There's 7 weeks to go, so with Christmas parties ahead, I think a 1lb a week weight loss is achievable.

So who is joining me?

Hi everyone. Can I join? Fell right off the wagon this week. But I've been cooking and shopping today ready for next week. Lost 11lb since I started in August.

KosherBacon · 09/11/2013 18:57

Of course you can April!
This weekend is a write off. Staying with the in laws and FIL made duck salad with homemade mayo dressing, lamb shank tagine and pannacota. 100 pp in one meal! And more food today and a roast tomorrow. ??

Well weighed in and lost 2lbs Smile started an interval running app on the treadmill, convinced that is helping. One of my DD's is pro athlete and advised interval training rather than straight running and this burns more fat. Will keep monitoring it, I feel fitter though.

wifeymerrick · 13/11/2013 19:31

Hi I'm in too if that's ok ? Would love to lose anotherfew pounds before the big C......have do far lost 33.5 pounds so already feeling great......wecantallbeperfect I'm on day 20 of the shred !!!! It's hard eh ? Also doing body pump and zumba........another stone and I'm done.....

KosherBacon · 13/11/2013 19:45

Don't talk to me about the Shred! Awful thing buggered up my knees in less than a week. It seems to injure as many people as it helps!

As for me, this week I have lost 2.5lb, so 4lb gone since I started this thread, which I am happy with. Especially after a weekend of lamb shanks, panacotta, homemade mayo based salad dressings, roast beef and half a pound of butter in everything, style cooking that we got whilst staying with the inlaws.

I stayed for meeting for the first time and gosh, what drivel. She was assuming most people eat ready meals and that cooking soup is adventurous. Oh and somebody said they'd followed a WW recipe for duck stir fry and she was "oooh, duck, very fancy" and looking at us all so we would coo too a la Marjorie Dawes at Fat Fighters. I used to do WW and my old leader has left, but she was never as patronising as this. Telling us that a curry is just a stew with curry powder stirred in. Urch not in our house!

WifeyMerrick- 33.5lb is awesome.

wifeymerrick · 23/11/2013 09:28

I started in July, it's been slow coming off but I feel like I'm totally in the right place atm to keep it off, think I wil AkwAlways have to watch what I'm doing....... It's nice feel ok with how I'm looking for a long time x

ClaireandGeorge · 23/11/2013 09:41

I will join. I am currently 11 stone as lost 3 lb last week. I'd really like to get half a stone off by Christmas.
I have done ww before and know it works but can be very prone to losing interest after a couple of weeks.
My weigh in day is Friday.

wifeymerrick · 24/11/2013 23:03

Claireandgeorge I'm in ur corner have done ww so many times this one is different......get in the zone lol

KosherBacon · 27/11/2013 19:21

3lbs off! Which gives me a total loss of 8.5lb in four weeks and my goal of half a stone before Christmas met.

I feel weird about it. I'm happy but it's made me sad at how I got myself into this state in the first place.

Oh and my BMI is now 29.9. I'm no longer obese and "just" overweight.

I know what u mean I keep thinking how unhealthy I must have been before....weigh in day tomorrow.....nervous :-(

Mazzledazzle · 28/11/2013 10:39

Can I join in? Late as usual, I know, but have hit rock bottom and feel disgusting. This morning something just clicked. Enough is enough. Have had a bug, so was feeling hopeful when I hopped on the scales today...14st 9lb! The heaviest I've been.
And well done to Wifey! You've given me hope. I want to lose 2 stone in total, but will follow WW until Xmas and try to get some exercise in and see how I go. I enjoy cooking so will look at the recipes someone kindly posted earlier in the thread.
Day 1, here goes, wish me luck!

wifeymerrick · 28/11/2013 18:27

ClaireandGeorge · 29/11/2013 13:30

Only 1/2 lb off this week which is a bit rubbish but suppose it could be in the other direction.

KosherBacon · 29/11/2013 13:34

Half a pound is still half a pound. Well done!

Good weigh ins all round. We are all getting there. Go team!

OP posts:
Mazzledazzle · 29/11/2013 15:25

A size 8 Wifey! If you don't mind me asking, what size were you when you started in July? My DD says she likes cuddling me best as, unlike her Dad, I've "No bones!".

Every half pound should be celebrated! If you lost that every week for a year, it would be 2 stone!

I'm only on day 2 and it's a struggle already. Visitors, social gatherings, meals out. Managing though - walked briskly 30 mins both days and making free soup. Tonight it's neep, leek and garlic.

I've signed up for boot camp classes the first week of Jan. Have barely managed any exercise in 3 years. Gave up on day 7 of 30 Day Shred earlier in the year, but that's it!

wifeymerrick · 29/11/2013 18:22

Hi ladies.....half a pound off should absolutely be celebrated !!! I was an uncomfortable 14 almost a 16.....dreading this week as its my work night out on Friday and the middle of the week I have a dinner date with a friend and cinema date night with hubby on Wednesday .....all food related
