Trimmer - your poor DS Is moving schools a viable option for him or is he just having a bit of a wobble? Party idea sounds lovely, I love a picnic!

Happy Birthday Blondes have a lovely day!

Piste - think we will prob in the future end up doing something similar with DDs birthday celebrations. Was bad planning on our part having an August baby!

Murtette - yes that is my normal 'pattern'

BUT I am pleased to report that I have lost 3lbs!

Takes me back to where I was before I started the steroids so really pleased coz I feel like I can start again now!

Well done Bebe! That's excellent.

2 off here. 2 more to go and I'll finally have lost a stone. Its been a battle... I thought I would have easily lost one by Xmas.

Blondes - happy birthday!

I'm off to my parents for the week so won't be able to catch up. Nor will I be able to lose weight as Mum will have made loads of cakes & puddings which I will be powerless to resist!

Well done bebe and Murtette on the losses!

I have stayed the same this week, but no surprise considering the amount of alcohol the other day and pizza etc. AF also imminent.

This week will be hard lots of celebratory things and DS' birthday party. Oh well!

GettinTrimmer · 19/07/2010 10:22

Morning all

bebe well done you!! 3lb is fab. Think ds is just having a wobble, he is up and down and needs a long break from school. School is very responsive and caring towards him.

blondes happy birthday

murtette 2lb!! Well done!! I am hoping for that this week.

ali well done on sts!! Especially with all that temptation. Just too easy to put it on.

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 19/07/2010 11:17

thanks for birthday wishes

BEBE fab weight loss well done

ALI well done sts esp as you have been rather bad

MURTETTE have afabby time away and we will kick your butt when you are back

GT aww your poor ds maybe get a few friends and mums round for a cuppa in hols, some children play better in small groups

im now dithering if i want to be good and have a salad pizza

watch this space for later .......

bebejones · 19/07/2010 11:43

Murtette - well done! Have a fab time away!

Ali - sts still really good! Try drinking plenty of water with the bad stuff to help 'flush' it through your system this week!

I really do think my loss was water, I was so bloated after the steroids and have been peeing for England! Next week will be the big test for me!

3 weeks today til DDs birthday, don't think I'll make my target by then. 8lbs in 3 weeks is a bit of a toughy! But I am really close so don't want to give up now!

Blondes - enjoy your pizza, whatever you decide to have. It's your birthday so you are perfectly entitled to a treat!

I started doing my sit ups again last night (first time since the relapse I have felt up to it) & walked to Tesco & back with DD this morning (also for the first time in a couple of weeks) so hoping I will be able to resume my normal active manic day to day things now. Prob a bit soon to do Davina, and still need to find where DD has hidden the dvd anyway DH is going to buy me this am hoping it will be a fun way to 'exercise'...even though that isn't what it is intended for!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 19/07/2010 12:17

Blondes - enjoy your lunch, and remember that is is your birthday so no beating yourself up if you do have a bit of a blow out

RatherBeOnThePiste · 19/07/2010 15:27

I am a loon. I forgot to weigh in today!
I shall weigh in tomorrow.

Happy birthday blondes!
Glad you are felling better Bebe.
Congrats on losses and sts.

GT. You must nearly have broken up? That little lad of yours will really benefit from the long break. It is so exhausting for them and he is so young is the year. Poor thing

Have a lovely break Murtette.

We are off to Devon on Sunday. DC are doing surfing. So I shall be weighing in tomorrow and on Sunday morning!!

bebejones · 19/07/2010 16:12

It's too hot to cook & there is nothing summery to eat...we are having a chinese for dinner! Figured it's weigh day & I have the rest of the week to be good I will try and be good, promise! My own fault I should have bought something for dinner at tesco, oops! Shall peruse the menu for something not too sinful!

bebejones · 19/07/2010 16:29

Gutted...chinese is shut! Having a pizza instead Well I am having a salad & a slice of pizza, but still

RatherBeOnThePiste · 19/07/2010 17:15

Possibly it's a bit early?! Ours opens at 6 I think.

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/07/2010 18:12

well done murtette on loss

i wasnt good at lunchtime and do you know what, i dont care

bebe, chineses dont open on a monday in my area

bebejones · 19/07/2010 18:19

Isn't open on a monday, had forgotton in all the excitement!!

Good for you Blondes, hope you had a nice time!

prettybird · 19/07/2010 19:53

Well, I'm back, had a fabulous time and only put on 2lb!

Considering the two G&Ts, 25cl of wine (roughly - depends on whether we had a small carafe or had bought a bottle) and a 50cl bottle of Mythos (Greek beer) that we had most days (each) , I don't think that is too bad .

I did my best to compensate with plenty of swimming and walking - set myself a target of doing more lengths every day and by the end of the fortnight did 110 lenths (c.25m pool) in one day! Not all at once, mind - the most I did at once was 65 lengths. So I'm proud of myslef for that, escpially as I am not a natural swimmer and can only do breat stroke - and even that, only with my head out of water.

Have tried to skim everything that has gone on while I was away......

PBM, sorry to hear your news. I've had two MMCs (which both required ERPCs), so I know it is not a nice time. Look after yourself and remember that yuo will still have all those pregnancy hormones runnng around your system, so it is perfectly normal to have massive mood swings and feel all over the place.

GT - sorry to hear that you didn't get the job, but congrats on getting the interview and it will all help in building your experience. I am really and that a primary/junior school not only has library but also a librarian! Ds' school (c200 pupils) lost its "library" two years ago when it had to be comandeered as a classroom. All the books had to be redistributed around the school, where every inch is used.

Alibaba: welcome! I ski too - we go to Meribel most years (and this year, I had to borrow a pair of dh's old salopettes as I couldn't get into mine )

RatherBeOnThePiste · 20/07/2010 07:39

Good times pretty?! Sounds fab.

I remembered to weigh in and have lost another pound. I will up date later!

Laughalot had a response from Gok about her ' bangers' I am so LOL!!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 20/07/2010 09:18

GT and Bebe - if you want to really despair - watch My Child's Big Fat Birthday Party on BBC1. It was on last night but I have just seen part of it on iplayer. Gawd it's awful!!

GettinTrimmer · 20/07/2010 10:45

I am despairing Piste! I will watch that this afternoon instead of doing housework.

Well done on your 1lb

We sat down and wrote all the options, party at home, play session at Lazer Zone, meal in a restaurant, cinema, and he decided on just x3 friends at Lazer Zone. Now this morning he said 'let's ask loads of people!' so that means a full blown pricey party. Just off to pick up some leaflets, apparently they have a choice of lazers to use

And the end of term can't come too soon, it's Friday.

prettybird Glad you're back, maybe you can encourage me to get out running again! I've just done Davina's aerobic section. Your holiday sounds fab

blondes you and me both, not being good on birthdays. A whole full fat pizza is essential!

PBM Thinking of you. Take care x

bebe well done on starting your sit-ups. You didn't have pancake rolls last night, did you? Mega fattening, Blondes reckons x5 ww points, I guestimate about 350 calories each. I had x5 once when having Chinese!

Ali Are you shredding this week? I have wimped out a bit today, level 2 makes me achey, but will do it tomorrow at the lower level with another Davina section.

Jodie/Laughalot Not seen you for ages!

murtette Very well done on your 2lb. I felt great when I lost the first stone. I just seem to be flagging with getting to the second....

I have to buy ds an outfit for dh's niece's wedding, it is only a week on Sunday. I also need to get jewellery/shoes/bag.

OP posts:
prettybird · 20/07/2010 11:25

GT - I was going to suggest Lazerquest The other idea I've just been given (but then, we have a nice large garden) is a "real" treasure hunt: you can buy little amythysts/"gem" stones for under a pound each in places like Museum shops and then literally bury them around the garden and give the kids a list of clues as to where they are. The mum who was telling me about it said that the first year they made the clues too difficult (even the parents were struggling), the second year they were too easy, so they are hoping that this year (like the three bears' porridge ), they will get it "just right".

I haven't started running again yet - will probably do so tomorrow (was going to be today ). I think I'm going to have to accept that my sore achilles are a sign of age and old scarring and just live with it. Next time I see my GP, I may get the contact details for the drop in physio clinics.

I did do Pilates a few times while I was away, when dh and ds were up at the football pitch having a kick around

I kept a food log and activity log while I was away, so if I can be bothered, I could try and put it in to foodfocus and see what the damage was!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 20/07/2010 14:51

Good luck with the party GT! Whenever I have done lazer Quest I don't know why, but the floor has been sticky !

Does he finish early on Friday GT?! Three more sleeps until holidays then anyway!

bebejones · 20/07/2010 14:59

OMG just watched that programme on iPlayer! Some people have more money than sense!

Piste - second you on the sticky floors

Pretty - very holiday sounds lovely! Well done on all the swimming, definately a good way to exercise with your poorly tendons.

Been really good diet wise today.

OJ & special K for brekkie
Nairns biscuit mid morning
Chicken noodle soup & a v small piece of banana bread for lunch
Making a pasta bake & salad for dinner

If I can avoid anything naughty I should be within my ff cal allowance!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 20/07/2010 16:57

That programme was dreadful wasn't it? Those parents were organizing parties for themselves in the guise of for themselves. Bleugh. Not good, and the child with the rather exrsordinary haircut even said his mum went over the top. He was right!

Interesting that the guy said those people who had less money were still spending loads on parties?! Blimey.

All I want to do is stuff my face with custard creams. Help me!!!!!

bebejones · 20/07/2010 18:17

Ooooh custard creams, haven't had one in years! Sorry that wasn't helpful... Piste, step away from the biscuits!!!!

Thought the one who hired the play centre out for her son was just so OTT! Can't believe people spend so much money on a party. I think America has alot to answer for, it was just like 'My Super Sweet 16' but younger! Frightening! What's wrong with party tea, jelly & ice cream & pass the parcel?! That's what DD will be getting for as long as I can get away with it!

GettinTrimmer · 20/07/2010 18:25

Those were the days Bebe! I've got to book the lazer party for 10 kids later. Shame ds didn't want to play footie and charge about in the woods, but hey ho.

I saw the programme too, half an ear and eye on it, half pottering about. That poor boy who had that wildwest party, didn't want his face painted but his mum went on and on, "do it for me!"

piste washing up liquid all over those custard creams, that'll put you off.

Ds finishes at 3pm on Friday.

I had a chocolate tiffin at Costa today so I am a fine one to talk.

OP posts:
GettinTrimmer · 20/07/2010 19:01

I also get dh to hide things if we have a tin of chocolate biccys or something like that in the house.

I have got to be good tomorrow, thurs and fri as so far this week I have been not so great. Even if I can sts I'll be happy.
