Hi guys :) i shall find it very hard not to join in the feast! I usually have weetabix, dates and lots of water for my Sahur (pre dawn breakie) then we have a three course meal in the evening followed by fruit and the most delicious cakes and sweet treats and proper lovely coffees later and there are so many lovely stuff thats only once a year (like mince pies at christmas iykwim) and the smell of them is like the smell of ramadan so its so hard not to indulge! Even yesterday i wasnt fasting (but only ate lightly during the day) but still had a dinner fit for a king Blush its for a month Trimmer then we'v Eid which is the big celebration at the end and thats party central for two days but after that i shall be back to real dieting! Im still gona try this month and weigh in etc and hopefully il do ok... Dont kick me out though!

Trimmer you dont sound in the wrong at all with your friend she sounds a bit sensitive? Maybe things arent good for her atm and she wanted to talk in private or cry on your shoulder or something and thats why she reacted like that?

Blondes enjoy your weekend and behave! Wink

Ali if you can get them to do the prep and dish up for you do! Grin hope you feel better soon but at least feeling sick lets you know youv plenty of lovely pg hormones flying around :)

bebejones · 12/08/2010 13:16

Hello all!

Had the worst night, spent most of the early hours in the toilet in agony Blush. Feel really delicate today. No idea what caused it :( Have just had a piece of dry toast and a chicken noodle soup was all I could face.

Trimmer - GP thinks it's a virus, he said there is no sign of infection & I don't have a temp. Just very odd that it has been lingering on for months now Hmm Apparently they rarely take out tonsils these days & not in adults as it is quite risky Confused.

Alib - I couldn't cook or go near the kitchen for weeks when I was PG. If I opened the fridge I used to hold my breath or the smell would send me running to the toilet! DH said he couldn't smell anything! Confused Hope you feel better soon.

PBM - All that food sounds yummy! Maybe you could just have smaller portions? Guess time of day you are eating doesn't help either as you aren't burning off the cals before bed IYSWIM? But hey, it's only a month like you said & you can just try & limit the damage!

Blondes - have a lovely weekend away! Will be quiet without you Wink

Poohbearsmom · 13/08/2010 00:23

Quite here today!
Bebe ya poor thing what an awful night you had :( i wonder what caused it? i hope your feeling a bit better now? I think you should push your g.p or see some one else or possibly an ear, nose, throat specialist? Its just not right to be suffering with it so badly for so long :(

GettinTrimmer · 13/08/2010 09:53

They're on holiday, etc!

PBM Friend is OK now, these days so many people communicate by text and don't answer their phones as it's too inconvenient (the MIL or whoever can be avoided). Sometimes texts can sound more brusque than people mean.

Those cakes and sweet treats sound scrummy. I had Greek coffee last year on holiday, is it like that?

bebe How are you today? Hope you are feeling a bit better and got some sleep. I woke up during a bad dream about leaving the dc behind while I got on a bus Hmm then dh was snoring so loudly couldn't get back off again.

'Twill be quiet without Blondes but hopefully there'll be more slinkies back next week. I am weighing in tomorrow

I have x8 family coming for lunch today so no excuse not to go running later with all these babysitters. Just off to Sainsbos in a minute. Have a good day all x

bebejones · 13/08/2010 10:09

Feeling loads better today, thanks guys. Not sure what it was Confused DH & DD are fine, so must have been something I ate, just not sure what!

Trimmer - have a nice time with the fam :)

DD is being trying today, 3 major tantrums before 10am! Hmm Including one because I took her (empty) breakfast bowl away, which lasted for 15mins! It's gonna be a long day, roll on DH coming home, then maybe daddy's girl might cheer up a bit!

Gonna be sticking to soups and bland things for a couple of days just to give my tummy a chance to recover. Having grilled chicken, veg & rice for dinner & will prob have noodle soup again for lunch, coz I really like it! :o

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 13/08/2010 21:01

Bebe glad you're feeling better :)

PBM - all that food sounds delicious!!

GT - hope lunch went well?

I am really struggling on the eating front, having to eat all the time to stop feeling sick. Thanks to whoever recommended the Nairn's ginger oatcakes, they are brilliant!

Have had some spotting, phoned GP and if there is more over the weekend then she will organise me a scan for early next week. Trying to stay positive and think that feeling so sick must be a good thing, but I am worried :(

Off to see my Grandma this weekend so I won't be around, hope everyone has a lovely weekend with delicious and low-calorie food Grin

GettinTrimmer · 14/08/2010 09:29

Ali I hope all is OK and agree the sickness is a good sign. Spotting is v. common. Take care x

bebe Hope tummy has recovered. Good luck with the terrible twos.

Bad news for me again with weigh in Sad Gained another 1lb. I am finding it so difficult atm. I would like to be 10 stone 7 by Christmas, and till we go away (a week today) not to gain any more.

I have to go running again today, didn't end up going yesterday.

Breakfast today has been boiled egg and 1 slice of toast, lunch will be pesto pasta with quorn. Not sure about tea, maybe curry. and NO snacking, that is what's doing it.

OP posts:
bebejones · 14/08/2010 11:56

Forgive me slinkies, I have sinned....again! Blush Bread & butter pudding last night...lots! Blush But was jab night & needed it! Wink Got to get back into this. Thought about what I started out doing back in Jan which was Slim Fast shake once or twice a day & no snacks & a proper evening meal. Gonna do that this week, just to try & get back in the right frame of mind!

Had 1/2 grapefruit for breakfast & having noodle soup & toast for lunch.

Ali - Like Trimmer says it is common. Fingers crossed for you that it is all ok & that it stops over the weekend. Take it easy!

Trimmer - Snacking has been my downfall the past couple of weeks. TBH I've been lucky to sts! If you are good 1lb should drop off again fairly quickly!

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/08/2010 12:23

afternoon Smile

had a lovely few days, was very bad Blush cheesy chips/batterd prawns/bacon butty/gingerbread men let alone copious amounts of wine Grin

but starting afresh oday, sure there will be a gain next week,as been so bad

BEBE sorry you feel soill Sad
GT sorry you ganied and friend sounds silly, so ignore her strop
ALI hope you feel less sick soon and take things easy
PBM sounds yummy Envy

went to the gym today and havent been for over a week, so sore

had oat so simple for breakie
chicken and salad wrap for lunch

and then as another wedding creche late afternoon but not eating till 8pm so will eat something healthiy/pasta etc

Poohbearsmom · 14/08/2010 12:23

Happy saturday guys :)

Ali i hope your ok huny try not to worry it is very common i had it with both my boys, what week are you now? Would next week be a bit early to see the hb? Hope it settles and the sickness is def a good sign but if your worried i would ring the early pregnancy unit at your maternity hosp but it really is v.common to have a little spotting, take care and rest plenty

Trimmer your days eating sounds so good i cant see how you can gain eating so healthily! You will def hav it off soon and your right snacking is the worst for adding up the calories/points and we forget as its on the sly run or when we'r preparing dinner etc thats my trouble anyways... Hows ds doing now with the holidays?

Bebe are you feeling better? Can you keep going on the shakes? I think id do better on my own 0pts veg soup but iv never tried slim fast shakes and im afraid i would never be able as iv heard some things (as a kid) about them that even though they are probably all made up i wouldnt be able to get outa my head iykwim did they work for you before?

Poohbearsmom · 14/08/2010 12:34

Hello Blondes dear well you do sound like you had a lovely time :) hope your not too sore after your kick butt session at the gym good luck at the wedding this eve hope they all sleep well :)

Bebe forgot to say earlier YOUR FORGIVEN bread and butter pudding always looks so delicious but iv only tasted it a couple of times and sadly it wasnt nice or maybe just the one i tasted wasnt nice Confused im going baking with the boys after lunch ds1 has picked vienesse biscuits with nutella in the middle. But now i want to try a bread and butter pudding just to see if i can do it nice... Decisions decisions... Might do a mini bread and butter and half the recipe of biscuits hmm

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/08/2010 12:43

i love bread&butter pudding, tho without raisins Grin

wonder if it is THAT bad, if you use low fat marg/skimmilk and canderall on ww

PBM thanks for soothing balm - my bum cheeks are on fire Sad

only one child today, bride&grooms child, otherwise its a CHILD FREE wedding - know MN just loves those Grin!!!

so there during day then taking 10mth home to her bed, and i will snuggle on sofa and eat healthy stuff Grin

bebejones · 14/08/2010 12:52

My bread & butter pudding was not healthy!! Blush Made with butter & cream instead of milk! Was wholemeal bread though, albeit covered in butter & marmalade! Was really good though! DH doesn't like it usually but he thinks it is delicious! Plus it's mega easy to do, so will prob end up doing it more often!! :o

Blondes - glad you had a nice time away! Have a lovely time at your creche for one! :o

PBM - Mmmm Vienese biscuits!

I find the shakes ok. But I don't do it like they say. Coz I don't use all their proper stuff, ie snacks & meals. I usually have a shake at breakfast & hm soup (or sometimes shake) at lunch then a meal in evening & only snack on fruit. Really don't find it that bad!

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/08/2010 13:00

butter and cream Envy

Poohbearsmom · 14/08/2010 13:02

Bebejones!!! You have created a very not healthy version Shock sounds good! Grin

A couple with a child having a Child free wedding Shock Wink yes i read a bit of that thread about them before it got a bit heated and i hide it! Not one for the ol confrontation me. Enjoy your evening and hope the little one is an angel for ya :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/08/2010 13:25

there are always threads of child free wedding

i didnt have children at mine Grin

RatherBeOnThePiste · 14/08/2010 15:12

Hello fellow Slinks!
Got back from our surf week in Devon last night! We had a great, great time, DD and DS are now surfing almost professionally ( in their hearts and minds!) but certainly lots of standing and carving and loads of enjoyment!! However, someone needs to
Have
A
Word
With
Me because I have sinned wholesale, and I mean Devon cream tea. Gulp.

will catch up properly later Slinkies.

Poohbearsmom · 14/08/2010 16:43

Well now Blondes as much as your Charges would have liked to go to a tropical island to see you get married (thats what you did isnt it?) im sure they and their parents werent too bent outa shape you left them behind Grin

Piste you are looking lovely and tanned it sounds a really lovely week and of course you sinned to not sin on holiday just defects the whole purpose of going Grin

bebejones · 14/08/2010 18:53

Glad DD is finally in bed (not asleep though) today has been hardwork!!

Have actually been very very good today. Made some soup for dinner. Leek, broad beans, pea, spinach & pesto which I had with a piece of multigrain bread and some lf creme fraiche. Yummy! Am going to have an ice cream in a bit, 75cals a scoop & cone 19cals. :o

Piste - Word Wink PBM is right if you can't sin on holiday there's no point in going! Glad you had a nice time!

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/08/2010 19:28

Bebe. My babe is asleep :) and the pesto dish sounds yummy

pbm. Indeed I did get married abroad in the carribean but also had a huge piss up party/reception when we got back for friends and family and also had no kids there

nearly all my friends have kids so if had invited them would have been another 50 ish and didn't have the room

plus then normally the mum stays soberish an the dad gets plastered and I wanted all to be able to have a drink and enjoy and not leave early as kids wingeing etc

all were happy to leave with gps etc and said it was nice not to have to brin them and keep up late etc

GettinTrimmer · 15/08/2010 09:09

Morning Slinks

PBM Yes it is pretty unbelieveable that I gained Grin Must be muscle and nothing to do with snacking on oatcakes and cheese!

Ds is chilled thanks for asking.

blondes leaving dc somewhere for a piss up sounds good to me. When's your next party?!!

piste Envy Ooooh...Devon cream teas. Last time we were in Cornwall (Eden project way) I was heavily pregnant with ds, it poured with torrential rain all week, we got fed up went for wet long walks then stuffed ourselves with cream teas, and felt justified!

bebe well done for being good. Agree with Blondes that pesto sounds lovely.

We had Chinese takeaway last night, I had mushroom curry. But did go running, 2.3 miles and doing the same today. I have decided to at least limit some of the gain and aim for 2lb loss by Friday.

Then we go on holiday for 2 weeks on Saturday. After that it's back to school, and job hunting for me....

OP posts:
bebejones · 15/08/2010 09:40

Goodness, is it nearly the end of the school hols already?!

All this talk of cream teas is making me hungry! Had an awful night with DD, screeching for no reason all the time Hmm not enough to warrant us getting up but enough to wake us! :(

Blondes - I need a child free party, agree with trimmer, when's your next one Wink

Trimmer - Fingers crossed for a loss, well done on all the running! Envy of chinese!

Our gardening plans have been thwarted yet again by the British summer. Grass is now about a foot high & no sign of any let up in the rain showers Hmm Very annoying! Had rid the path of weeds & sprayed them 2 weeks ago, now looks like I might as well not have bothered! Angry

RatherBeOnThePiste · 15/08/2010 09:41

Eeuuuggggghhhhhh

Just read about bread and butter pudding - don't you all realise that it is the spawn of the devil along with egg custard or even normal custard????!!!!

bebejones · 15/08/2010 09:54

Piste - do I take it you are not a fan?! :o And now I really want a custard tart......

RatherBeOnThePiste · 15/08/2010 10:09

LOL Bebe!!
How could you contemplate eggcustard ?

Whilst we are on the subject you can add in rice (evil) pudding!!

( horrified emoticon )

The cream tea however was divine. Really.
Yum yum yum.

Tomorrow I shall pay for it though.
