Piste - I feel exactly the same. My aim is to be a 'healthy' BMI to TTC, and my target makes me just a healthy BMI so would be great to keep losing, but not sure when enough is enough! Want a bit of a 'buffer zone' IYKWIM?

Have taken the jeans off, they were quite snug on my hips & uncomfortable for playing with DD. Having looked at them now they have no curve in the cut at all. Perfect if you are straight up & down...I'm not!! Thats the prob with Topshop & Miss Selfridge jeans IMO, coz they are made for teenagers really so just don't have the curve in! Cheaper to produce a pattern that is straight as well, much less skill required & you can cut more pieces from the fabric if it's less curvy. Hence why they were only £6! Still, I could do them up, and they were loose on my thighs, will def give the dp & possibly Next ones a go I think!

Hi all i am new on this thread, i am normally in the mc section but was told about this thread. So here it goes, i have been slowly losing weight in the last few months due to alot of health problems including gallstones, severe acid reflux, fatty liver and i also have a cyst on my liver. All this was found after a mmc last year and horrendous stomach pains that had me up all night. So i don't normally tell people my weight as i am very big but i guess we are all on here for the same reason. I started at 24st 7lb and this morning i was 21st 12lb. I took the children and the dogs and we went for a lovely long walk today and as we live in the middle of lots of hills we were certainly working up a sweat. I did come off track for a bit but i feel i am back and eating lots of salad, veg and chicken. I am currently taking lansoprazole which has stopped the pain but i am hoping to come off them soon. I want to lose alot of weight before ttc again. I have always been big during my pregnancies but i have decided in the last day or so that i want to be healthier this time. I wonder if it contributed to my last mc being so big.

Poohbearsmom · 04/08/2010 14:54

Im so glad you joined us Daisy stick with us and we will help support you i promise we all weigh in once a week and sometimes we list our daily food just for ourselves and also to get a kick/ideas and inspiration from the group! Are you going to follow any plan or calorie count or just go healthy? We all do different things here i just stopped eating the stuff i knew i shouldnt (sweets, biscuits, cakes, white bread, fryed fatty stuff etc) and i really really cut down the size portions of pasta, rice potatoes i gave myself and tried to bulk up on lots and lots of veg (im not big on some veg but a bit of vegy gravy and il scoff the lot ) also 0pts soups and fantastic! We'v loads of recipes if you'd like any? Iv decided to do weight watchers this time im not going to go to meetings as blondes says pay someone to weight me but alot of ppl do get something outa the meetings but thats what i have these guys for and for free im gona get the points book off amazon and iv been writting every single thing im eating in a copy helps to see it all in black and white... will do a better job pointing once i have my book but sure any bit i do now will help... Also water water and more water! Flushes it all out... Do you drink much? I only ever drank coffee and the odd bit of juice before startin to get healthy, i used to drink liters and liters a few months ago but got outa it when i fell off the wagon but back on it and running to the toilet as a result anyways enuf of my rambling welcome to our group and well done on the good walk, walking i think is def a great one to start with and the kids will love it im sure as my boys do when i head out with them. Swimming and yoga are good one's too i got a Rosmary Connolly dvd which i havnt done in ages but will be starting again... Soon... Its a good one cause she caters for all levels of fitness... Agh im rambling again! I do that, sorry!

Bebe wow o wow at your size 12's you are an inspiration lady! Im very happy for you and dd's party sounds fantastic!

Murtette drool at lasagne thats my all time favourite

piste lol dont forget the flask i actually stumbled across sarahmia in the conception side (i was lurking on the just mc'd and trying again thread but i wont be joining ) anyways big congrats to her she is pg that must be why she hasnt been around i think she prob got her bfp around the time i mc so maybe that could be why she didnt say anything? Anyways im so delighted for her hope she pops in to say hello soon and i wonder if mummymels hit goal is that why she hasnt been around? She did fantastic didnt she! Anyways happy hunting piste

Daisy Welcome, and wow on the weight loss so far, you deserve a massive pat on the back for the 3 stone gone so far

Bebe Well done on the size 12s mrs slinky!! You have done so well this year! Long may it last x

blondes how are you? Have you turned into a sausage yet?

I've done so well this week and today I;m STARVING! I'm just having a slice of toast now as I'm on my own tonight and will do a big salad later, I can't be arsed to cook just for me

prettybird · 04/08/2010 19:17

Congratulations bebejones.

PBM: thanks for your kind thoughts. Your insight into old people's homes is useful: we are not directly answering Mum, just saying we can look at things again when Dad gets back. Although mentally she seems a bit better (for everyone, except dad who she is "punishing", we think), she does seem increasingly physically frail.

Daisy: welcome

GettinTrimmer · 04/08/2010 19:22

Hello friends!!

Well, back from the wedding and 2 nights in London. Wedding was lovely, dd was gorgeous as the little bridesmaid, she walked up the aisle with her bear...ahhhh! My champaigne glass was filled several times, lovely food, had a great time.

In London we went on the London Eye, double decker bus trip, Science Museum and Natural History Museum.

I seriously need to kick my butt now. Too much grub, and I had already gained 4lb recently.

PBM Have missed you! Thanks for the kind words about ds, he is chilled now. Couldn't agree more about what you're doing, 0pt soups etc, loads of veg. You 'n' me both.

piste Glad you reminded us about the countdown to Christmas, It will take me that long to reach my goal, as I frequently gain a little bit then get back into my stride. Agree too that life gets in the way of this dieting lark.

daisy welcome! Stay with us and we'll get there. You've done brilliantly. Living amongst all those hills is ideal for exercise.

blondes How's your bc/exercise going?

jodie you sounds positively saintly having just salad tonight. I, sadly, cannot say the same

bebe Woo Hoo! Well done on those size 12 jeans.

Will come back later and chat with everyone else. I am technically challenged, but also will post a picture of dd & ds for a few hours, I am so proud of them, ds looked cute also in a bow tie.

OP posts:
bebejones · 04/08/2010 19:28

Welcome Daisy! Massive gold star for weight loss so far, well done you!

Jodie - lol at Blondes turning into a sausage! Don't go starving yourself

Pretty - sorry you put a 1lb on again. Comfort eating is such a PITA! Maybe you could try low GI stuff & fruit salad (not the same I know), I love the Nairns ginger oat biscuits (although nowhere seems to stock them these days ) they are only about 44cals each & really scrummy.

Having a battle with DDs new play tent contraption & can't fold it back up , think DH are gonna end up having an argument over this one! The tent is currently sitting there looking all smug!

Poohbearsmom · 05/08/2010 00:09

Lol at your smug tent Bebe whats goin on with the non stocking of Nairn's over there? Everywhere has them here if you get desperate i shall happily post ya a supply!

oh Trimmer you made me ooooooh out loud how cute is your dd taking her teddy up the isle! You must have been bursting with pride cant wait to see the pic and how did the dress go down? Bet you looked a knockout your whole trip sounds such fun im taking mental notes for if i ever go to london what to do!

Pretty your poor dad that is really hard for him but i hope in his heart he knows its not your mothers true self that is punishing him that the awful sickness is making her, o its so hard im so sorry hun

jodie get a big pot of soup a cookin i second Bebe's stern look altho i had a giant salad with pita's at lunch and twas lovely ww salad cream is my new favourite thing o and dont be lurking you bold thing your way to funny just to lurk!

Where is Blondes? Put the sausage down and come talk to us

Ali hows the morning sickness holding up?

bebejones · 05/08/2010 07:22

PBM - Can only get the savory Nairns in the supermarkets, which aren't as good! Have tried Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's & Waitrose locally & Tesco & Waitrose online & can't get the ginger ones!! Can get them in the farm shop but they are expensive in there & it's a bit out of the way to go there just for biscuits so I always end up spending loads of money on other stuff that I don't need!

Trimmer - did I miss the pics? Bet they looked adorable!

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/08/2010 09:01

MORNING

SORRY

have been awol - been manic week with teddy bears picnic, had over 60 at my work, then at school friends for day and yesterday went to drucillas zoo and out for friends birthday in eve - i fear for a gain tomorrow

today is a quiet day 'wipes brow' hence kids watching tv while i quickly catch up on here

dh business is really taking a battering (yes his own fault for those who know the story) but it is bloody hard at the moment - dh really need to get some more customers, had a right hassle with our driver as well and tbh we are both really fucked off but we will get over it, hassles make you stronger eh - in sickness and in health/better or for worse

right, takes deep breath

BEBE fab weight loss, well done, you are only a few lbs away from goal, bet you NEVER thought you would get there, dh must be SO proud of you, as we are and @ no party bags and well done at size 12 jeans!!! and yes i can get ginger naims - think from sains and somerfield
PBM glad you came back honey, we will ww together and thanks for gentle kick, tho didnt work, i ate far too much bad stuff monday and out for pizza last night for friends birthday
MURTETTE well done on 1 lb loss&fab on doing dvd and no calls yet from drop ,
PISTE glad devon trip was fun and dont worry about the gain, you will get it off asap, least you enjoyed yourself, i am STILL trying to get my holiday gain off
ALI well done on 1lb loss, you can still lose weight while pregnant
DAISY welcome aboard, so sorry to hear about your mc but please dont blame yourself and think it was your weight, as sad as mc are, sometimes it just measn that the baby wasnt developing right - YOU didnt cause your mc ((HUG)) and well done on your loss so far
JODIE glad to hear you are still lurking and keeping up the good work - and no im not a sausage yet lol
PRETTYBIRD sorry for your 1lb gain but it will come off next time, hows mum doing?
TRIMMER sounds a lovely time was had at wedding/london&glad ds has chilled and hopefully new year/term/friends at school will help in sept

RatherBeOnThePiste · 05/08/2010 09:46

Morning all.

Welcome Daisy - join us and stay with us, this is a very successful group, but always remember that we are here for the long haul and it's the sticking with it that is the key!

I bought a push up bra yesterday and ladies I think it may be the way forward!

prettybird · 05/08/2010 10:11

Very this morning: am going away on a work trip to Iceland tomorrow and I have just tried on all my work clothes and none of them fit, so I am going to have to do a rush trip to M&S to get something I can wear. When we went over in January I was able to wear some "old faithfull" smart knitted dresses that I have - but they are not suitable for summer, even an Icelandic one

I've been mostly working from home for the last 6 months (got made redundant last April, and took until Christmas "off") - which is why this problem has caught me off guard (working from home is probably also why I put on so much weight so quickly)

GettinTrimmer · 05/08/2010 10:21

G'day all

bebe just skimmed back a bit, what a lovely idea for your dd's birthday There's ginger nairns in my local sainsbo (or there was a little while ago), if you have any trouble getting them I can send you a couple of packets if they're around down here!

blondes sorry about your hassles, I hope things improve. Are you body combatting today/gym?

Sounds like you had a very busy time of it! My dd is so attached to her bear (talking about teddy bears' picnics) when dh has time he can help me post some piccys, her bear has a bridesmaid dress too. So cute!

I am planning to do level 1 of the shred at some point, but it is so challenging with the dc around. Ds and I are trying to tidy up upstairs but keep getting distracted!

pretty Don't blame you for a bit of comfort eating atm. Hope your mum settles.

I have no idea how to a) get photos from the camera on to the computer b) post them on my profile! When dh is home I will get him to show me. I am not great with technology.

Today, dd is going to a friend's house, I have to clear up (I don't know how we manage to make so much mess). Even the cat has spread loose fur everywhere.

I feel more focused with diet, as Piste says, we have success, it is for the long haul. Keep going ladies!

OP posts:
GettinTrimmer · 05/08/2010 10:25

pretty good luck with your trip to Iceland. Keep away from those geezers! (geysers?? Geddit?)

Know how you feel about things not fitting. Last summer I couldn't get into anything, but sure you will look good after your m & s trip.

OP posts:
RatherBeOnThePiste · 05/08/2010 10:49

Trimmer - your London trip sounds great.

My bro and his family (he has twins who will be 6 soon) are coming over from Tokyo at the end of August, his wife is Japanese and they have been living there since the boys were two We went there last summer and did lots of touristy stuff there, and now they are coming over and we need to do the London tourist stuff for them. We thought the London Eye is good, also take them and show them some soldiers in their bearskins, also the natural history/science museums are always good too. DS wants to take them to Legoland ( i.e. he wants to go back to Legoland!) because they took us to Tokyo Disney!

Glad your DD was a beautiful bridesmaid, we have to wait until the beginning of September for our DD's turn, but I am so worried she will have grown out of her dress, not outwards but that it will be too short. She is now taller than me (just) and she wasn't when we first had it! Gulp

I need to get something to wear, and actually realised the other day that I need to get on with it because all the Autumn stuff will be in.

Blondes - you sound like you have had a busy time!
Pretty - Just get something from M&S and know that you are doing something about this! And for goodness sake stay away from volcanoes!!!

prettybird · 05/08/2010 10:54

Just found a Coast silk wrap dress (bought in the Christmas 08 sale) that still looks OK good The joys of wrap dresses

However, as we are away for a week, I am going to have to take a gazillion pairs of shoes to go with the non-matching hotchpotch of clothes that I can get into

Ds is coming with us (last week of the school holidays - has been getting jealous of out trips to Iceland, so we are going out early so that we can spend the weekend doing touristy thiongs with him and thereafter he'll have to sit in the corner and occupy himself on his ds or a computer or even, shock horror, read books ), so I have to get him packed too - plus make sure all his school stuff is ready as we get back on the 14th and he starts school again on the 16th.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 05/08/2010 11:14

Piste faints.....

Omigod you have reminded me that I have to sort out DS for his senior school. We do have until 1st Sept but I really ought to at least get on with the clothing. I did get the blazer and tie and was smug but there is a whole long list for my attention. Then as if that wasn't bad enough I shall have to sew name labels on....

Piste faints again.

GettinTrimmer · 05/08/2010 12:23

You can get iron on ones, Piste!

I found it very difficult today making it through till lunchtime. Had a little bit of galaxy, and promised the dc homemade pizza for tea.

OP posts:
bebejones · 05/08/2010 13:15

Mmmmm pizza am being so good coz I just know Sunday will be a diet disaster!

Was about to suggest iron on name tabs too! Great minds & all that!

Pretty - I love a wrap dress!

Piste - sounds like you will have lots of fun when your brother comes to visit! I miss living close to London. Used to go quite alot when I was little

Trimmer - our Sainsbury's is v small, will try the bigger one in Stroud when I can be arsed to drive over there! Will keep you all posted on the hunt for Nairns!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 05/08/2010 16:10

Pretty has shocked me into buying DS his school shirts for September! Just games kit to go and that's from a specific shop. Aiming to do tomorrow! I also think DS will need more than one tie...

Not doing too bad food wise today so far, took DS + mate to see the A Team film then to the buffet pizza thing at Pizza Hut. Not my idea of yum but when you have two starving 11 year olds it is good value for £3.99!! I did salad plus one triangle and a pepsi max. This time last year I would have probably just taken my chair over to the buffet!! LOL

GettinTrimmer · 05/08/2010 16:34

I am seriously thinking of doing something incredibly potty.

Saw a sign outside a charity shop to fundraise for local RSPCA branch by doing the Great South Run, it's 10 miles. Have to raise £150, but should be doable with coffee morning, mention in the school newsletter etc.

I will have to go running about 4/5 times per week starting from now. I am nuts but will take care of the gain!

OP posts:
RatherBeOnThePiste · 05/08/2010 17:07

Not potty GT - inspirational!!
You go girl!

JODIEwantsanewname · 05/08/2010 18:02

GT Wow, go for it lady! If you post a link to a sponsership page, Ill sponser you!

bebe Your DD's birthday sounds amazing, we didn't do anything for Sam, but he's the second born, so doesn't count right?!? With DS1 we did do a party

You lot and your talk of school uniforms, I need to get my ass into gear as DS1 needs one for september He's starting at the school nursery (he misses reception by 2 weeks as he is a September baby!) and I need to get him kitted out, I haven't even looked at the list that school has sent through

Pretty When you off to Iceland? Have a great time.

Blondes Phew, you sound like you've had one hell of a busy week! So sorry to hear about DH's work, when does it 'return to normal' IYKWIM? I hope it picks up soon. I usedto work in the construction industry and I remember July/August being really quiet as no one wants do do work while the kids are off. (He's a builder isn't he)

Piste I'm so of your lttle 'jaunts' off to Devon, without wishing the kids lives away, I can't wait until my boys are a bit older and we can go 'adventuring' Saying that though, we are having a fab summer in our caravan, and the boys are having so much fun, we're off to Barmouth next week (Its my birthday whie we are there so we will have a great time at the seaside, when you live in the midlands it's great to see the seaside!

PMB I'm really trying not to lurk! I just never find the time to post, hence why I put on a weight!!! I'm sticking with you all now as it's your support is working!

I'm off out for dinner tonight, DH is taking me PIL are having the boys over night as they took them on a day out today and have them on a Friday anyway so we thought we'd 'do' dinner, we haven't been out, just the two of us since I was pregnant with Sam over 2 years ago! I'll try to be good, I'm not drinking, so that should help, it is weigh in day tomorrow though so I will have to be mindful!

bebejones · 05/08/2010 18:35

Trimmer - go for it...woohoo!! Will dust off the pom poms to cheer you on!

Jodie - we figured we have had such a crap year that everyone needed a party, it's only a village hall affair so not really that fancy, just want to make it special! Have a lovely time out, DH & I haven't had a night out since P was born either! She's never been away overnight either...looking forward to that & dreading it at the same time!

Have been very good today so I can 'afford' (cal wise) to have blueberry pancakes in a bit!

B - Had OJ & banana
L - Noodle soup
Snack - Snack a Jack
D - Quorn, l/f chips & salad

Plus have drunk loads & had a mad morning rushing about in between MNing!
