What's worse than the naughty step? Whatever it is, I think I need to go there! Today has been one of those days when there just seems to have been a lot of chocolate, cake and ice cream available and I haven't been able to exercise any will power. I'm annoyed with myself as I've been so good until today and so was hoping to have (re-)lost those holiday pounds this week.

Pretty - can you make half the recipe so that there aren't as many biscuits for you to nibble on? Or put some in the freezer?

Bebe - you definitely deserve to be in those shops. Actually, the shop assistants should be congratulating you! Take your time choosing jeans as the cut can vary from shop to shop. I've always found Oasis ones to be the most flattering although they only do one length so can only where their jeans with heels. Even at my thinnest, GAP jeans & trousers always looked terrible on me.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 01/08/2010 07:28

bebe - have you tried Bravissimo for tops? They do things in curvy/super curvy and extra curvy or something like that. Anyway it is for women with exactly your problem, boobs bigger than waist, so you can go down a size and things still fit your bust.

pretty - those biscuits sound delicious!

Murtette - hopefully one day won't have too much impact? Can you fit some exercise in today to try and compensate?

I was sort of good yesterday, toast for breakfast, chicken roll for lunch, fruit for snacks and a burger with salad and new potatoes for dinner. Then I had a choc ice. But I did do 40 mins of quite fast paced Pilates.
We have friends staying the night tonight and I'm cooking roast beef and yorkshire puds, but only one tray of them as opposed to enough for about 10 people which is my usual

Hope everyone has a good day

bebejones · 01/08/2010 07:51

I ate far too much Indian last night but was sooooooooooooooo good! Din't have anything really bad though IME. Had a massive green salad with it too. And had Chicken Tikka but only a starter sized portion. Still, will be happy to STS after that feast! Ooops!

Pretty - those biscuits sound really yummy! I agree with Murtette, make half or freeze some of the mixture if you can. That might help stop the nibbling?! (I'm a fine one to talk I make too many cakes/biscuits )

Murtette - I quite like Gap jeans, depends on which cut though. Dorothy Perkins jeans have always fitted me really well though. Not a massive fan of Next jeans having tried some recently, also hate Topshop ones...but I guess I'm about 10 years too old for Topshop now!!! Fingers crossed that your one day of badness won't have had too much of an impact!

Ali - Mmmmmm Yorkshire puddings

Had a couple of Bravissimo tops a few years ago. Haven't bought any yet coz I want to wait til I am at my target (or less) to get some coz they are quite pricey & I don't want to buy them then find that a couple of months later they don't fit!

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/08/2010 09:18

morning - pizza friday, chinese saturday and prob roast dinner today - opps

though i did walk miles deleivering leaflets for dh business - his work is really slow really need to get some more customers and earn more money

bebe, do you have an asad near you, they do jeans for £4, so grab a cheap pair to keep you going

i feel that this week will be a right off, as off food i have consumed and tomorrows picnic, so if i gain/sts on friday REMIND me of this fact, that i have been bad!!!

bebejones · 01/08/2010 14:54

Had intended to be really good today...MIL came and brought Tiramisu!!! Had a half portion! Had some cous-cous & a very small piece of l/f quiche & a couple of little triangle sandwiches for lunch, so not that bad. Will have a low cal soup for dinner to try & reign things in! Wanted to do some Wii today but have somehow pulled muscles all down the back of one leg & my bum! Not sure how I did it, but really hurts!

Blondes - Asda is near shopping centre I need to go to this week so will check it out! Hope your leaflet drop has the desired effect & your DH gets more work sooon.

prettybird · 01/08/2010 18:19

Haven't made the biscuits yet: can't make a half quantity as the recipe uses an egg. Suppose I could freeze half the mixture or the half of the made-up biscuits.......

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/08/2010 18:58

nothing worse than pulled bum cheeks

def bake and freeze biscuits

good luck with weight in tomorrow ladies xx

pmb may join us soon - have told her,we need and miss her

bebejones · 02/08/2010 09:02

My good behaviour at the beginning of the week must have paid off, have lost 2lbs! Really going to need to keep focused this week as it's DDs birthday party next Sunday & I want to enjoy the food guilt free! Got a very busy week ahead so that will help, no time to snack!

Hello my dears
how you all doing? Its taken me ages to read all the pages iv missed (no credit so no internet for over a wk!) congrats on all the losses & commisserations on the few little add on's... I myself hav & quite a lot of add on lbs im back up to 14st 6lbs so iv gained 11lbs if my calculations are right but i know why like its all my own doing but today is a new day & im back to bother you all again im going doing ww blondes told me which books to get & my sister is going ordering them for me today iv jus to make a list of what else i want cause iv to pay like £5 delivery or if i spend £25 its free so i thought i might aswell get something for my money instead of spending it on postage but anyways iv started today i still rem alot of points from years ago & iv relearned some again from Blondes & Trimmer here so iv had 2 weetabix 3pts & an apple 1/2pt for breakie & iv 0pts soup cooking for lunch which il have a wrap 2pts with ww salad cream 1/2pt & salad for lunch & a pear 1/2pt & roast chicken wit veg for dinner & prob another apple/pear... im gona have loads of water which iv stopped doing... Am i right on my points? Whats chicken, Say if i have a thigh? O & milk in coffee pts? And il have a yogurt il assume its about 2pts... Gona so drive ye mad!
Ok have to stop rambling & start catching up!
Omg Bebe your such a star its amazing your now falling outa a 14 tis such a fantastic job you'v done in such a short time! Sorry your health is still playing up, i hope your mouth is healing and maybe the meaty bbq will help the healing process? hows dh doing btw has he ever gone back to skimming world? Is dd better from her persistant coughs & runny noses?

Trimmer dont worry bout them few lbs but now shake it off, back to it, your able to do this just feel confident knowing how georgous you looked at the wedding yesterday (hope you had a great time btw) you will look even more stunning on your hols back to your shedding now missus so sorry bout ds's party btw that was such bad luck but i really hope he can relax now & have fun for a few weeks & forget it & forget school for a while too. I think its really unfair parents arent allowed to decide for their children there here they recommend starting the year you turn 5 but you dont have to start them before 6 but its always your choice. Im an august baby & i started at 5 & there were always loads older then me, but even in secondary i saw the couple of younger kids always seemed it & its just not fair to not even get the choice to decide for your own child just feel so bad for your lovely little boy.

Piste you georgous thing it must feel lovely getting all them complements hows the kids enjoying the holidays? When you irishing yourself up? Where ye going/what ye planned? Il recommend & tell ya where to stear clear of! Your camping trip sounds great fun id be too much of a wimp for that but bet the kids will have a ball

Ali big congrats! Super news now stick with us back to 2000cals plenty of walking and easy going exercise nothing that gets you so outa breath you cant talk i think thats the rules, just take care of yourself & your darling baba & enjoy yourself & dont worry if you start talking about eating for two we'l kick your ass for ya

Pretty im so sorry about your mum that was very hard for your father but time will make it easier... Is your dad able to go into her often maybe when she's lucid ye could tell her this is only for a while until her arm heals & she builds up strength etc as you said she is going down very fast and she may settle better thinking its not a long term thing but maybe it could help her iykwim? I know you would prob prefer to be honest but i know from exp with older ppl (iv worked in nursing homes and hospitals) even if they know in their hearts they really are there for longterm it just makes them feel less like "the others" if they think its "just a holiday" hope it gets easier for ye soon hun & dont let food be your comfort, let us

Jodie my darling tis lovely to see you & thank you for your kind wishes jodie what have you decided to do to shift the few extra lbs ww? Your still a slinkie thing but you'l look great minus them 11lbs, we'l do it!

Where has mummymels, Dis, sarahmia etc etc etc gone so many awol's piste you shall have to don the hunting gear to get them to come & catch up!

I know iv probably forgotten so many so will do a big wave

Blondes iv my teddy ready & a big plate of carrot sticks i shall hold you back from them brownies dont worry & i shall kick you very gently away from the dips, dont worry (gives a hug just cause she's lovely)
chat you all soon xxx

Murtette · 02/08/2010 10:29

Well done, bebe! Do you think you'll make your goal this month?

1lb off here which is a relief. Just done my first ever exercise DVD - I can't believe how unco-ordinated I am! Of course, trying to avoid DD didn't make it any easier. I'm also v unfit.

Piste - how was the camping trip?

Poohbearsmom · 02/08/2010 11:14

Forgot to ask would someone mind changing my details on the list can you put starting weight 14st 6lbs and target leave it at the dream of 10st. I want to treat this as a fresh start i know i was over 16st last dec and its great iv lost a little bit of that but its been a long time now it been eating all wrong and not moving my butt so today is day one again... Thanks xxx

Poohbearsmom · 02/08/2010 11:58

I know exactly what you mean about dodging stamping on the kids when working out my two used to almost knock me at least 5 times a session! Dont worry bout being wobbly doing it your first time you'l be flyin by the end of the wk

laughalot big congrats on ur fantastic results! Best of luck with job hunting. Hope ye had a great holiday did the kids have a blast? hard work when they'r little having to watch them all the time but just lovely to get away... no hols this yr for the poohbear family im afraid neva mind plenty of nice days at the park will help make up for it if we ever get any nice weather again that is...

RatherBeOnThePiste · 02/08/2010 16:39

Hello all and lovely to see you all again!
Our Devon camping trip was fantastic and we stayed longer cos it was so glorious, DC loved surfing, rafting and kayaking and the weather on the whole was lovely. A combination of wind from the sea and sunshine has made us all look like we had a month in the Caribbean!! Well nearly. I think the gin and bacon sandwiches will not have helped my weight, but I shall know tomorrow morning. Gulp.

We are going back to devon next weekend with DH but not camping, it's really not his thing. A real shame because the DCs love it. But they will get to do a week's surf school. I quite fancy it myself but am not sure the world is ready to see me in a wetsuit!!

I will read all the messages this evening, but v nice to see you PBM.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 03/08/2010 11:52

Bebe well done on your 2lbs and ouch at pulled bum cheek!

PBM - lovely to see you back Good idea about starting from day 1 again, that other weight is never coming back! I have updated you on the list

Piste - sounds lovely at you going twice! Know what you mean about the wetsuit, it will be a long time before I am brave enough to venture out in one of those!

Despite the yorkshire pudding consumption at the weekend, I have lost 1lb so very pleased. Have got a new pair of trousers on today that I bought a few weeks ago but they were a bit tight across the hips until today.
I must get back to using food.focus though, I am winging it a bit atm and definitely eating more than I was a couple of weeks ago.

bebejones · 03/08/2010 13:31

Piste - sounds like you had a fab time! at bacon sarnies! YUM!

Murtette - doubt very much I'll reach my goal this month! Know what you mean about trying to avoid the small ones whilst doing DVD, my DD just wanted to 'help'

PBM - nice to have you back! I'm feeling a lot better atm, fingers crossed I keep getting better! My meal plan for today is:
B - special K with skimmed & OJ
L - pesto pasta, cous-cous & quiche (leftovers)
D - Soup & some fruit for afters

AliB - well done on 1lb!

Have trekked around town this morning picking up bits and pieces for DDs party. Also went & picked up her 2nd bookstart pack from the library. Got us both library cards whilst there & borrowed some books for DD. Really impressed with the library it's fab, v modern & lovely staff. Very different to how I remember libraries being when I was little! Decided agianst doing party bags. Have got treats for prizes for games etc & they can have cake and balloons. I'm knackered already and still got 5 days before the party! Kids parties are hard work! Have new found respect for my mum!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 03/08/2010 13:39

My menu for today is:
B - 2 slices of toast, one with peanut butter and one with honey. Half an apple and half a nectarine (shared with DS)
L - corned beef and salt&vinegar crisp sandwiches and tomatoes.
D - Roasted butternut squash, green beans and sausages.

The crisp sarnies are a real craving, I have to restrain myself from making one before I go to bed

bebejones · 03/08/2010 16:12

Ooooh AliB Salty cravings...could be a boy !

Haven't snacked today!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 03/08/2010 17:55

3Lbs on since last weigh in.
I knew the booze and bacon sandwiches were no good

Poohbearsmom · 03/08/2010 18:13

not to worry twill fall off ya in no time back to soups salads etc etc for a few days dat'l counteract it!

Omg Ali that sarnie sounds scrummy! Looooooove salt and vinegar crisps drool... When i was a kid i used to make a corn beef, peanut butter and calvita slice sandwich twas sensationaly wierd but good

Bebe are you doing the birthday cake yourself your such a great baker i bet everyone of your adult guests will be cursing you the next time they step on the scales after the party all your prep sounds great hope ye get nice weather and the kiddies can do loads of runnin round outside

off to my dinner see you al later

bebejones · 03/08/2010 18:38

Piste - That's not so bad, it'll come off again, plenty of water & soups will flush it all out!

PBM - yes I'm doing the cake...and everything else! It's a 'Very Hungry Caterpillar' theme coz it's DDs favourite book So cake is going to be square sponge with white icing & caterpillar on it. All the food is themed too. So we have chocolate cake (gateau), Pickles, Cheese (a selection with crackers), Salami (mini Pepparmi & also pepperoni & plain pizzas), Cherry Pie etc etc. Hoping it's gonna go down well! Managed to get some big swirly lollipops today in the sweet shop in town which are going to look great...very excited!

Had a l/f sausage with my soup for dinner...can't resist a sausage!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 03/08/2010 18:58

You know Bebejones, when we started this lark in January and you said your target was your DDs birthday in august, that honestly seemed like forever away. And here we are. That's amazing, time really has flown by methinks!

We are off again on Sunday for a bit more beach and surfing and no more bacon sandwiches! I shall be very good until then!!

PBM - You are right I do need to put my hunting gear on again and go and retrieve those who have fallen by the wayside.

Murtette · 03/08/2010 22:28

PBM - its good to have you back. My menu today was:

B - oats so simple
L - chicken with salad; pear
D - lasagne (DP sent to supermarket on way home from work and it took his fancy) & peas; lf yog
Snacks - couple of bread sticks (stolen from DD); handful of blueberries; hot chocolate

Bebe - I love the sounds of DD's bday and may nick your idea for my DD in due course. Did you check out the children's activities in your library? My local one does two nursery rhyme and one story time session a week which are free and you just drop in to. I tend to go once a week but its good to know that the other sessions are there as a back up if my plans fall through.

Piste - sounds as though you had a great hol. I hate wearing wet suits, they're so difficult to get in and out of.

Blondes - any response from your leaflet drop? Fingers crossed that DH's business picks up

bebejones · 04/08/2010 12:20

Am wearing Size 12 jeans!!!!!

They are super tight on my hips but think it's coz they are cheapie Tesco ones! Will go back and try some dp size 12s next week, see if they are comfier!

Really hacked off, just been to Tesco home store to get some pressies for DD, when I got home my Tesco vouchers were here! They have that double up thing on at the moment so could have used them to get stuff! Really irritating! I just knew that would happen, said to DH that it would happen, bloody typical! Done now, just have to spend it on food instead, how dull!

Piste - yes, don your hunting gear & track down all those MIA! I too cannot believe DDs birthday is here already, for lots of reasons, but have sort of got to my target as am in a size 12 pair of jeans, even if I'm a few lbs off my target weight!

Murtette - yes they do music & story times at our library too so will have to go check them out! Just a bit of a PITA to park there & is way too far to walk!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 04/08/2010 12:34

You look gorgeous darling!!

There are 12s and there are 12s. I have fab Next and Boden ones and then a pair from Miss Selfridge that are lots snugger!!

Congrats on getting to the jeans size, but don't worry about the few pounds. Dieting is not a precise science, and life often gets in the way!

We have agreed that we are going to countdown to Christmas, and between now and then we will all make massive progress. My only worry is that I'm not sure when I will be satisfied and want to stop and start maintaining. Does anyone else feel like this?!
