dorsal raises and superman - not sure what they are! How many reverse crunches and bicycles each time?

pointydog · 02/06/2010 19:28

okey doke

Undertone · 02/06/2010 20:49

ooo - start at 5, i would.

duckyfuzz · 02/06/2010 20:53

hello all, lovely day/night in york, shoping in the rain but I am now the proud owner of size 10 yes that's 10 tops just to reassure you, they are loose fitting things from gap adn white stuff, who I think size pretty large anyway butam still quite pleased

have biffed excessively though, so anticipate no loss this week, possibly a gain, will try to head it of by fri though

will now read through and catch up

tostaky · 02/06/2010 21:30

Lots of good news then!
congrats jack on your new found confidence and duckyfuzz on wearing a size 10! im envious!!

today has been so-so:

  • special K/milk
  • 2 peaches
  • potatoes (w butter) + grilled steak
  • salad
  • 2 x small piece of cheese /bread
  • 1 banana
  • 4 apricots
  • asparagus + cucumber w yogurt + 1/2 cantaloupe
  • 5 macaroons

and 1/2 hr run but my hip is killing me so im going to stop running for a while... it is probably to early with all those breastfeeding hormones and pelvic floor exercises that needs to be done. i could run pain-free only once i stopped bf with DS1

Undertone · 02/06/2010 22:25

tostaky - do you have access to a swimming pool to give your joints a bit of a rest? Also - a cross-traier is very low impact.

3 weetabix
half pint skimmed milk
half bag salad
two tomatoes
70g low fat cottage cheese
110g pack of lean roast beef slices
two apples
large turkey breast fillet
huge pile of asparagus
dollop of Flora light on asparagus
two squares v dark choc

Also ShOES ALERT I bought these as an extra special treat, because I still lost a pound last week, even with biffing.

They're very comfy.

pointydog · 02/06/2010 22:27

fuck me, size 10 ducks. Bravo.

I like those espadrilles, under

Undertone · 02/06/2010 22:34

they're more of a minty green than a taupe, IRL, which suits me and my white skirt fine. yay for longer legs.

What's the protocol - does THE ZOnE stop when you hit a size 10??

pointydog · 02/06/2010 22:39

how many people on here are a 10?

I think you are well into maintaining territory when you are a 10. Depending on height and bones etc etc. I, for example, am heavy-boned

cyb · 02/06/2010 22:45

coco I was expecting something dire from tescos but they are nice trews

cornsilkcottagecheese · 02/06/2010 22:56

I was very good at the gym and did loads of abs. I no longer fear the crunch. I like those Tesco trousers too.

BudaisintheZONE · 03/06/2010 07:41

Hi all

Well done on size 10s ducky!

coco - I like those trousers!

Food yesterday was porridge and blueberries for breakfast
Lentil, cucumber, tomato and feta salad for lunch
Snack was 2 oatcakes with hummus and 2 peaches
Another snack (!) was 5 flaxseed tortilla chips with hummus
Dinner was a chicken stirfry with loads of veg

Weather still sodding miserable here. Have heating on. Sent DS to school in winter coat on Monday. Normally June is too hot for things like sports day etc. and the exam students are melting. Like winter now.

Can't decide what to have for breakfast today. Don't fancy porridge or granola.

BariatricObama · 03/06/2010 09:38

oh i am v. jealous of jack's lido. i want a lido!

i am teetering at the brink of 11 again. its going to be a cliff hanger this week!

dinkystinky · 03/06/2010 09:51

Morning all. Undertone - like the espadrilles. Ducky - well done on the size 10s - great stuff. Cornie - well done on the abs work: I would suggest doing 12 of each exercise at least (working up to 18 of each) for each set. Dorsal raises are lying face down, hands on your head and raising your head and upper body off the floor a few cms and then lying down again (in controlled fashion) - breathe out as you go in. Works lower back. Superman - get on all fours, hands under shoulders, knees under hips - stretch left arm and right leg out straight (keep abs in, hips aligned, dont wobble) - hold for count of 5 (slow count) - and then down to all fours again. Then do on other side (right arm and left leg out). Make sure your back is straight.

Tostaky - if you're hurting, avoiding running is a good idea, esp so close after birth. Power walking will do the trick (esp with double buggy) and when back in the UK check out postnatal pilates/yoga classes and buggyfit/pushy mothers classes in your area (I did those after DS1 and DS2 and found they were really good classes - good work out but in a safe way after you've given birth with specially trained instructors). I didnt take up running again after both boys until well after they were 9 months (mind you I hate running so was nice to have an excuse...)

Buda - maybe an omelette for breakfast? Sorry about the crappy weather.

Jack - Lido sounds brilliant idea. If weather stays nice may demand that DH takes the boys and me to our local lido this weekend.

Have period and biffed for britain yesterday. Will be the zone personified today...

BudaisintheZONE · 03/06/2010 09:59

Phew! That was a walk and a half! Did normal route with dog which involves a hill which used to kill me. Did it with no rests today. Then on way back headed off down a road which I hadn't been down before. Ended up a great loop back and with a HUGE hill. Had to have about 4 rests! Walk with that loop is now an hour. Feeling good though!

Just remembered I have a Pilates DVD somewhere I think. Is it worth doing that if I have not ever done pilates before?

Breakfast ended up being a slice of rye bread toasted with peanut butter. Having greek salad for lunch and as DH is away tonight, soup for dinner. Snacks will be fruit, yoghurt and oatcakes. Alternating water and green tea.

Aitch · 03/06/2010 10:20

i am PUTTING ON WEIGHT. is my period due? i really should keep a note of these things...

CheeeseOnToast · 03/06/2010 10:33

hi everyone

ducky - good work on the size 10s!

Tostay, I agree with dinky, leave the running and maybe find some yoga classes or something, try and tone core muscles rather than running just to lose weight. Otherwise you'll be thin but wobbly

Good walk, Buda. Also v generous of Jack's lido trip. There's one near us but it's always rammed when the weather gets good. I might go early on saturday morning actually, like 8am. Or I might not

Food yesterday was ok:

weetabix
italian artisan proscuitto baguette from Pret
red grapes
small handful of yoghurt coated raisins
bowl of fruit n fibre
carrot and cumin soup for dinner with four crackers
three small pickled beetroots

I went to yoga but kept getting cramps, and I found it really hard work. My knees kept hurting when kneeling (even through the mat) and my hands were hurting and could barely support myself - think it's period related? Due imminently. nice. I also dont think I drank enough yesterday, that can make you cramp can't it. Not in stomach, in feet and legs mostly.

Sorry to lower the tone but I've had really bad wind these last few days, and it's just clicked after reading this thread that it ties in with me eating bread again. I hadn't really eaten bread for a few weeks, apart from maybe one or two slices in that time for breakfast. Certainly not a baguette for lunch. Think I'll have to give up my Pret delicious baguette .

Glorious weather here today! Think I'll get a salad and eat lunch outside today in the park

cyb · 03/06/2010 11:15
