Thanks Katisha, you are right, if my collegues find out that I am doing this then no doubt they will try to tempt me. Well done on your post holiday loss

rainbowinthesky · 18/08/2010 09:53

Just found my true weight on the dukan website and it says just to attack for 2 days. Is this all I should do before cruising? I need to lose 1 stone 4 lbs.

I'd do a 5 day attack if you can bear it. I found I got into the zone quite quickly and it became a bit of an effort to start bothering with veg!

Muller Lites with bran have become my treat. Gawd. Oh well, at least the weight is coming off!

rainbowinthesky · 18/08/2010 10:39

Thanks - cant wait to start losing weight. It's such a struggle to fit into clothes.

rainbowinthesky · 18/08/2010 17:36

I bought a huge selection of activa zero yoghurts with fruit as well as bacon to trim. Were these a mistake? SHould I change the yoghurts for vanilla or plain fat free yoghurts and forget about the bacon?

Katisha · 18/08/2010 17:39

I think the activia zeros are OK. I think it is worth taking into account the carb values in these low fat yogs though as some of them are pretty sugary, and this is esentially a low-carb diet. I have found Muller Lite to be the lowest carb and Tesco has 12 for £3 at the moment. The greek yoghurt zero fat ones are lowish carb as well, but pricey.

And as for bacon - Dukan is anti-pork products in the early stages as he thinks they are fatty but I have found them to be absolutely fine. You can cut off the extra fat.

Just got back from taking back the fruit ones and changing for natural zero fat ones and also took back the ham and pork to get extra lean beef mince and some cooked chicken things.

Katisha · 18/08/2010 21:31

Dr Dukan would be proud of you!

SpanishHarlot · 18/08/2010 22:50

Hi Londonlottie i have signed up to the website and have found it really dissappointing. the only good thing about it are all the recipies. The incentive stuf is all same old jargon each day depending on what you post in your daily report.

if you have the book you will have enough recipies to keep you going.

i have lost 13 lb and found it fairly easy to follow but have fallen off the wagon quiet hard this week with family over on holiday and too many meals out.

Must get out the yoghurts and get back on track as still have 10lb to go.

as always "must try harder" goes on today's report Smile

well done ll :)

I've put on a pound this morning - day 4, so upset

I thought I did really well yesterday as I went out for a meal last night and just had a plate of smoked salmon with lemon and a few capers and a diet coke :( In the day, just my vanilla activia with oatbran, some cottage cheese, wafer thin ham and turkey and coffe with a splash of skimmed milk.

carry on today and see how i get on I suppose. Have a good day everyone

insertexpletive · 19/08/2010 09:38

bambootoo make sure you are drinking enough water - really do have to make sure you have 1 1/2 ltrs per day.

The times when I have not lost, or when stayed the same are generally down to being lax on the water front - although have been times when cake is to blame too Blush

bambootoo · 19/08/2010 09:58

Thanks - lots of water today then, I wonder if too much coffee and tea can make a differnce? I had about 5 cups in total, plus 2 diet cokes.

Katisha · 19/08/2010 10:24

bambootoo you have to realise that you can't have put on a pound of fat on what you ate. It's all to do with water retention and that fluctuates quite wildly from day to day.

A pint of water weighs a pound and a quarter, so yes that will account for some of it - but don't cut down on fluids in an attempt to make the scales go down.

You will get a general downward trend, but don't worry too much about day to day fluctuations which can be a couple of pounds for no apparent reason.

I just try not to draw attention to myself in restaurants! Don't have the bread, try to order a salad without making a fuss etc.
Tricky if everyone decides to have dessert though. The other day I cracked and had a creme brulee which is my favourite thing on the face of the earth.
And drank a fair bit of wine.
Couple of days of pure protein afterwards!

bambootoo · 19/08/2010 11:39

Lets hope I get up a few more times in the night for the loo tonight then.

In a restaurant last night, I had a 'double' smoked salmon starter made into course and then just left the salad

mummydoc · 19/08/2010 14:15

hi , i haven't read whole thread so sorry if htis has laready been covered. i started 3 weeks ago and have lost 10LBs even with a glass of wine every night and several falling off the wagon days. now getting to grips with it again , but am confused about the youghart thing, i bought fat free yeo valley vanilla - but it is full of sugar ? do i have to have fat free and sugar free youghat an dif so which ones are ok ? also were do you get oatbran ? and can you use fat free salad dressings ? thanks

Katisha · 19/08/2010 14:39

No you don't have fat free and sugar free yoghurt - I doubt such a thing exists. My point is that some yoghurts are carbier than others, and I try to go for the lower carb option, given that much of the point of Dukan is low carb.

Same would apply to the salad dressings.

I don't know whether it is better to be fat free and higher carb or vice versa according to Dukan, but as a seasoned low carber I tend towards low sugar stuff if at all possible.

I get my oatbran in Tesco - it is near the porridge. Also available in Holland and Barrett type places.

Well done on the weight loss!
