I got mine from Asda - it's in a green tub, next to all the supplements etc. Is about a fiver.

You just add a spoonful of it to whatever drink you are having - it doesn't affect the taste at all. It is keeping me regular

itstimmytime · 04/06/2010 10:07

Thank you

zippys · 04/06/2010 14:38

Hello, I didnt realise this thread was here, so glad I've found it .

I started the diet a week last Tues and ahve lost 11.5lbs so far but have about another 3 stone to go

I too amd loving the fact that its so strict as like others a little treat goes astray. I have tried atkins (lost 3 stone 2 years ago - put 4 back on), lighterlife, weightwatchers and many many more diets before this one, but low carbing does seem to work for and the 4 stage plan I am hoping will help me keep the weight off.

Thanks for tip re fibresure as that is the only problem I have at the moment (TMI alert - only been once since I started!!)

How many of you eat your oat bran? - I dont like it in yoghurt but am going to try chicken muffins and vanilla moist cake at the weekend to see if I can stomch it in something else.

Good luck with the weekend everyone.

MuthaHubbard · 04/06/2010 20:15

well day four for me, and fell a little off the wagon - went for lunch with my friend and had carvery, which was obviously mainly meat (lovely beef and some turkey) but also had 3 small roast pots and a small bit of cauliflower cheese - i think mainly because i felt my plate would look weird if that makes sense??!

i have also just been awful and eaten 2 custard creams with my coffee......my excuse is it's the week before AF is due and usually this is the time when i tend to eat anything that is not tied down so think i'm not doing to bad. am dreading the weekend though as that's when i also find it hard to stick to things.

am still waiting for book to arrive and going to get back onto the wagon as i don't feel i've fallen off too spectacularly (i hope).

am also trying to wait till tuesday before i weigh in again.

keep up the good work chaps!

insertexpletive · 05/06/2010 09:38

Hello everyone,

Five weeks in now and have lost 19lbs. After initial weight loss of 8lbs in first week I still seem to be losing 2 or 3lbs per week which is far more than I have ever lost before.

I still have another 2 stone to lose (although the website put my ideal weight half a stone heavier than my own target so will see how I feel)

Well done to all you losers

kolacubes · 06/06/2010 21:45

First week have lost 4lbs at last, thank god somethings come off.

Hopefully this week coming will be better as I have to say my appetite is really supressed.

Well done insert you've done so well.

insertexpletive · 07/06/2010 09:04

I fell off the wagon this weekend and am SO disappointed in myself.
We went to Legoland yesterday and I did really well - no cheating, just ate the ham and chicken that I took for myself - said no to crisps, cakes, ice cream.... then got home, and for some unexplained reason, decided to have 'just one' biscuit. One turned into two, and before I knew it, I had had half a packet

I have such an unhealthy relationship with food. I think that is why this diet is the one for me - there is (usually) no compromise - I don't seem to be able to do things in moderation.

Hope you all had a more controlled weekend.

itstimmytime · 07/06/2010 11:26

Aw, don't worry. Denying yourself all the time when everyone is enjoying 'forbidden' food is stressful and requires so much focus and willpower that it eventually catches up with everyone! You might not have a great loss this week, but please chalk it up to experience and carry on Dukaning (new verb!).

The worst thisg to do is think 'oh well, I've screwed it all up I might as well have a crumpet/chips/sausage roll' etc...

You are doing brilliantly and are one of the inspirational people on this thread who keeps me going (starting week three tomorrow).
x

insertexpletive · 07/06/2010 11:56

Thank you

I am trying to make up for it by drinking extra water today and it has given me the inspiration I need to finally get cracking with the 30 day shred DVD tonight...

Am determined to try extra hard for the rest of this week to make sure I at least do not put on any weight, even if I do not exactly lose!

How are you finding things three weeks in?

kolacubes · 07/06/2010 13:09

Yes I agree with itstimmytime you are one of the inspirations on this thread.

Keep going, I'm following in your footsteps.

Although just reread the foods I can eat, and think my problem maybe that I didn't read NO LAMB! D'oh!!!!

New week lets try and do it right.

itstimmytime · 07/06/2010 15:55

Insert - I quite like it but am missing alcohol a lot at weekends. And I never before have been so excited about a bit of veg. I have done Scottish slimmers before with success, but calorie counting is horrible!

However, 2 weeks over and 9lbs off - can't be bad!

Good luck with the shred - sounds terrifying!

I was going to have lamb tonight Kola!

bratnav · 07/06/2010 16:01

Hi everyone, first day of 7 days of attack for me, target loss is 3st 7lbs, true weight on website agreed with it

DH is doing it with me so I am really lucky to have encouragement and a bit of competition which never hurts, although with both of us doing it our food bill is HUGE.

Well done to everyone, you all seem to be doing so well

GetOrfMoiLand · 07/06/2010 16:04

Oh is anyone else sick to bloody death of chicken.

I have been doing so well, but yesterday fell of the wagon in spectacular style. DD baked a cake, left it in the oven too long and burnt it. Oh well. But I ate the whole burnt cake stood up mindlessly reading the sunday papers and chopping vegetables.

Then I had half a packet of caramel digestives (why are those bastards in my house?).

I have not weighed myself yet - am not doing so for a bit - but will be taking measurements of my waist, hips etc tomorrow. I do look and feel slimmer.

Mingg · 07/06/2010 16:09

Ladies - I am waiting for my book arrive but have kind of started already. Does anyone know if there is a list of allowed foods somewhere I could have a look at? I know on the attack it is only meat, chicken, eggs and fish and I am sure my book arrives before the next stage but I love veggies so am just curious to see what veggies are allowed.

jennycomelately · 07/06/2010 16:46

Lost 8lb in first week, even with an unplanned restaurant meal at the weekend (had seafood but with some creamy sauce). I have slipped a couple of times but am very pleased that I managed to eat just 3 squares of chocolate yesterday and leave the rest of the bar - that's a first for me!

DH (who is doing the diet too but only has a stone to lose, I have 3) is away so it's hard to motivate myself to cook, but I made chicken tikka last week with just yoghurt and tikka spices and it was easy so I'll probably do that tonight.

Finding that my appetite has come back a bit, don't know if that's because of eating veggies at the weekend or just my body getting used to the diet. Aiming to lose 4lb this week.

I'm doing 4 protein days then Friday-Sunday protein+veg, I don't know if that's better or worse than 1 day on, 1 day off, haven't got to that bit in the book yet.

GetOrfMoiLand · 07/06/2010 16:59

Mingg - if you google Dukan Diet it will link to an article in teh Daily mail - that is what I got started with, and I haven't bought the book yet.

insertexpletive · 07/06/2010 17:38

Well done Jenny that is a fantastic first week loss!

GetOrfMoiLand I can totally relate to being sick at the sight of chicken - I had to lay off (excuse the pun ) it for most of last week and had plenty of sea food and lean beef instead.

Biscuits were my downfall too this weekend

Miggsie · 07/06/2010 17:41

ok...the chicken is now covered in Peri peri, or yoghurt and herb dip (which I make thanks to my little herb patch loving the sun this week) or an amazing sauce called "zulu" by Kush Kush cuisine.

It blows your socks off.

DH did a rib of beef steak on the barbeque yesterday for some friends and us.
That was yummy.

I'm even eating tofu now.

jennycomelately · 07/06/2010 17:53

Thanks insert, I was pleased, although I've not seen much difference in my body yet, stomach a bit flatter perhaps. And don't beat yourself up over the biscuits, it'll make you less likely to have even one next time you're tempted!

Changed my mind about dinner - salmon fillet with ginger and lime juice, even easier than chicken tikka, I am so lazy at cooking

MarshaBrady · 07/06/2010 20:40

Day one. Doing attack bit. Had eggs, tuna, ham.

Need to go to butcher and fishmonger tomorrow (better quality!) and also get tofu and oat bran.

Not craving anything in particular but not really satisfied, like an odd appetite suppressant. Just got to ignore these thoughts of food tonight.

Mingg · 07/06/2010 21:39

Found it - thanks GetOrfMoiLand

kolacubes · 07/06/2010 22:51

So how foul are these oat bran pancakes? I'm going to have one for my breakfast tomorrow, can't face another breakfast of boiled eggs, and meat in the morning is just too wrong in my book.

VTrying · 08/06/2010 08:10

Ive just had the oat bran thingys.
Not bad actually.
They cook like pancakes. I made 3 little ones, a but like dropped scones.
I went for sweet, (added some splenda to the mix) then but a big dollop of virtually fat free freomage frais, with a teaspoon of splenda.

I was desperate for something non meaty!
(Fell off wagon at weekend- bagels on 2 days oops)
I'm not sure I can do this actually. Because I get to a point where I am desperate for some carbs.
Clearly a carb addict...

Wishiwasacat · 08/06/2010 12:00

hi all,

I had been doing so well on this diet - up to yesterday had lost a stone in 6 weeks.

But for some reason I was so so hungry yesterday evening (not happened like that before) and had to have toast, chocolate bar etc etc. I can't believe this has happened. and I don't know why. I'm so disappointed

Has anyone else got really hungry all of a sudden on this diet?

bratnav · 08/06/2010 14:17

Day 2, all going well so far, oatbran pancakes and smoked salmon for breakfast and ginger and soy prawns for lunch

Not hungry at all, but I can see that I am going to be screaming for veg by the end of the week....
