OK, during the last thread I managed to lose the grand total of...nothing in fact I am a few pounds up [sigh]

Have lost maybe an inch from bust waist and hips so that is something I guess, but I will not be in the same position at the start of the next thread. Sazz Someone give me a stern talking to

Ran 7k today, 10 mins on powerplate and 50 crunches. However i set off a bit too 'keen bean' on the treadmill without really warming up and my knee started to twinge . Not sure whether from my failure to warm up properly or the extra pressure it has taken from Jillian and her level 3. Anyhoo, i mangaged to get through it in 50 mins by running at 9k and then walking (with incline). Burned 520 cals apparently so not all bad. Oddly (but very pleasingly no ache in my knee at all now )

Have also drunk 2 litres of water.

As the shred is doing brilliantly for my arm definition, but the old thighs wobbled on the treadmill i think i am going to mix up my exercise thus:

Mon: Shred/swim/pilates
Tues: Run/powerplate
Weds: Walk (2.5 miles)/Shred
Thurs: Day off (or catchup day)
Fri: Walk (2.5 miles)/shred/swim

On the days with 3 i may not do all 3 due to weather/DH being home etc but a good outline to aim for.

Egg salad for lunch with banana, steak & salad for dinner

hotterpotter · 08/06/2010 14:27

That is making me feel tired just looking at it all

My plan is to shred Monday - Thursday and swim twice a week as well as doing something energetic - walking/gardening/cycling at the weekend. Have shredded level 2 again just now (8/30) so am already on 3x ExerSazzes this week

VG it doesn't say anywhere on the DVD about doing each level for 10 days, just to mobe up when you're ready. I think I will alternate 1 & 2 for a while until I can do 2 without breaking then will try 3. Was to discover they use 5lb weights though, think my arms would drop off with those...

CrispyTheCrisp · 08/06/2010 14:36

Blimey Hots, that is heavy

Mine are 2.5lbs, so i guess with 2 i am lifting 5lb . However my arms are getting pretty defined anyway, i don't want huuuuuuuge Madonna muscles so will stick with what i'm at i think

Well done on level 2 shredding, i only did it once!

CrispyTheCrisp · 08/06/2010 20:28

Just had a delicious dinner of griddled rump steak & mushrooms with rocket, parmesan salad drizzled with balsamic vinegar. I even cut the steak in half and will have the rest for dinner tomorrow as DH is away all week

oopsandbabycoconut · 08/06/2010 20:35

Ladies I need to get back on the wagon!! I have oddly lost 2 stone in the last 12 days but need to get the toning/shifting jelly belly. Where doI start?

Morning hot mamas,

welcome back oops ...

can see you have all been going for it whilst i was away ..

need to weigh in to see the damage from the weekend and not much exercise apart from a big treck around Dublin zoo..

aim is to try and mix up my biking with either the gym or pilates.. have been missing my pilates so badly and back is really bad as a result of not doing it...

Crispy your week of exercise sounds impressive and to be fair Hots your sounds pretty hard too.. so i will try and do my best aswell

oopsandbabycoconut · 09/06/2010 09:33

Didn't ask GP about weight loss - I haven't seen him yet. No aswimming though until 6 weeks according to MW. Have found a Pilates teacher who will come here and do some 1 to 1 post natal classes and as I haven't spent my maternity grant yet I will use it to pay for her!

Will be getting Wii Fit back from friend at the weekend and Monday will see the serious start!

luckoftheirish · 09/06/2010 12:16

35km on bike, 200 crunches and leg exercises phew

LadyGardenia · 09/06/2010 13:34

200 cruches [shock[ fair play to you, missus!

I have shredded. I definitely find L3 harder but I don't ache after doing it any more, I am pretty sure I ached after starting out on this. Does this mean it is not being so effective any more or just that I am accustomed to it?

Anyone fancy a floating meet-up?

Welcome back ooopsy, home 1 to 1 pilates sounds brill!

CrispyTheCrisp · 09/06/2010 13:38

Just shredded (12/30 - Level one wirh cardio handweights). Ran 1.25 miles to preschool with the double buggy as very late (don't ask but there were some expletives in DH's absent direction ) and walked 1.25 miles back. Also cleaned the whole house in 2hrs which worked up a sweat.

Need to eat some lunch now but not hungry after all that

LOTI, mixing up is good i think. I am in awe of 35k on the bike . I actually decided to sell ours today as i never use it and we could do with the space for some of DH's bookcases which are cluttering the place up terribly

Oops, i think that postnatal 1:1 pilates is the best thing you can spend your money on. I hope she is a good teacher and you really click with her

CrispyTheCrisp · 09/06/2010 13:41

Ha, that looks brilliant Lady. I think we all MUST go along for a laugh as research for the Weightloss Retreat

LadyGardenia · 09/06/2010 14:24

She is having comedians and every guest gets their photo taken with her .

I feel sure the Sazzles Special will outstrip that.

hotterpotter · 09/06/2010 22:39

Woo hoo for your weight loss oops, seems like two minutes since you bowed out pg and here you are back again

Loti you are doing amazing, just take it steady OK

VG I think not aching is good, means your muscles are getting stronger/better. As long as you are all sweaty when you've finished, that's fine

Sazz you also are a human dynamo

I have shredded again tonight (9/30) but back to level 1. Managed to follow Natalie mostly was v hot after, also have walked 13000 steps today due to going to work on the train. Good job really because I fell at the world cup sweepstake-drawing buffet

Well done on shredding potsy.

I am seriously fed up I am now 8.5 pounds over my lowest on here and I've been good foodwise and shredding goodo. I am drinking every fecking drop of water in the house and my 14 jeans felt too small yesterday. In a fury, I tore them off and poured myself into my 12s just to spite my body, so as you can imagine I looked great yesterday .

I am running at 11 and might shred again later with my new dumbbell weights. They have a nice soft grip.

I am FED UP.

I am FIT but FAT.

LadyGardenia · 10/06/2010 10:12

Sorry I am aware that I have just used the "F" word which people don't really do on here.

I ought to clarify by saying that I don't necessarily think a size 14 is fat. For me, at the moment, I wish I was thinner.

I have been on this running/obsessing lark since last September or October and I just don't seem to have got anywhere on the weight front. I can now comfortably (well, without dying) run 10k, I feel fit and energetic and healthy and strong. I feel young, actually. I am happy that I can manage the level 3 shred, I play tennis with ds1 and jump around with ds2 and walk for miles and miles and always want to do energetic things at the weekend, I still climb trees and play tag and enjoy the feeling of running almost (ok not quite!) as I did as a child. I feel good. I don't habitually drink during the week, I don't eat junk food, I don't even eat rice, potatoes, pasta any more. But my body is too heavy and I can see from looking at it that it's really from armpit to hip where the problem lies. I am like an egg on legs at the moment.

Why?

Waaaaaaaaaaaahh.

hotterpotter · 10/06/2010 10:38

Sod that VG, feck is one of the most fantastic words in the language, god bless you Father Ted for bringing it to my attention

I can see why you are fecking fed up, you are being v good with food and exercise and the weight isn't shifting. I am 6lb higher than my lowest on here but know full well that it's because I drink too much and when I drink I also eat crisps

Not sure what to suggest other than the oops method of getting pregnant and the getting the unborn baby to nibble away at the lard from the inside...

OP posts:
LadyGardenia · 10/06/2010 10:44

LOL I meant FAT not FECK!

As for your suggestion - if only

LadyGardenia · 10/06/2010 10:47

You see, even kind attempts at consolation only serve to push my head under the sea of self-pity

luckoftheirish · 10/06/2010 10:56

Lg you are fantastically fit and a super hit mama. I think you have gained muscle not fat! I am in awe of your energy and I want some {smile}.

I have to drag myself out of bed drag myself to exercise so here is a big cheer and well done on feeling so fit from me!

Maybe you should measure around your problem areas and see if your shredding and running make or have already made a difference?

Have dd2 for most of the day already been forca brush walk in the sodding rain and hope to bike it and crunch it whilst she naps and goes to nursery for two hours this ago!

Just one more thought lg are you eating enough? If you don't eat enough body goes into starvation mode!!! Xx

luckoftheirish · 10/06/2010 10:57

Posting on this sodding iphone so appologies for all the typos!!!

hotterpotter · 10/06/2010 11:07

...

You're still a young 'un, there's plenty of time for more babies. Even at my advanced age there is still a chance for me...

Size 14 isn't fat but I understand you saying it's too fat for you, as it is for me too. I am lucky that I still have a decent shape and although my tummy sticks out a lot at the front I do go in at the sides which, if I was firmer I might be able to live with. Have you thought about doing specific waist-toning stuff like hula-hooping to give you a bit more shape?

OP posts:
CrispyTheCrisp · 10/06/2010 13:00

LOL you two . Sorry to hear food/exercise not working out for you Lady . I think if i were you i would try reintroducing bread/rice/pasta so nothing is 'banned' IYKWIM? At a guess I have bread 2/3 times a week, rice once, potatoes twice and they do serve a purpose to help fill up and satisfy for longer, plus satisfy any cravings for them.
I guess i am lucky that i know if i strictly keep within FF limits that some weight will shift. I have also gone back to no drinking in the week and that makes a big difference.

How about posting your daily food and exercise diary on here? Then we may be able to help a bit more specifically? Also good for keeping you on track so you don't have to fess up to the strict squad

I am supposed to be shredding but i am absolutely exhausted. I could blame it on all the stuff i have been doing but i suspect it is more to do with going to bed at midnight and reading until 1am. I am so crap at sleeping when DH is away

So instead, i am going to have a soak in the bath with a cuppa and read my book . In the middle of teh day . If it continues dry we will walk down to pick DD1 up from preschool later or if i feel up to it i will shred after they have gone to bed

oopsandbabycoconut · 10/06/2010 13:46

Afternoon ladies

VG sorry you are feeling so down about it - I have to say when I saw you last you looked FAB and with your shredding and running I can only imagine you more toned!

I have managed to get back into normal jeans today - admittedly size 16 but am finally rid of the horrible maternity jeans that kept falling down!

Have been reaquainting myself with Lord Ford this morning

Loti - you are so motivated - I see rain and hide inside!

Crispy - Enjoy the bath.

luckoftheirish · 10/06/2010 15:25
