if you follow the rules .... yes

honest, it does work. But don't be fooled into thinking you wont need will power. It's like any other weightloss plan, you have to want to lose wieght more than anything else and for the right reasons. Otheriwse you will break the "rules" just like on any other diet.

I have lost wieght on it and know others who have had success too. I like the fact i dont have to count anything or plan my meals in advance.

The CD is good, do you have an ipod or mp3? i listen to mine on my ipod at bedtime mainly.

CommonNortherner · 22/09/2009 09:48

I just listened to the cd every night and it worked like magic!

Actually, what it did was make me feel loads better about myself and that in turn made me less likely to eat out of self-hatred and so I was consuming less calories and losing weight.

I didn't bother with anything to do with food cos of my food Ishoos. But the cd has been wonderful!

sixfoldwaitingtime · 22/09/2009 13:38

Agreed, it's the CD that works, not the book. Listen to that regularly, keep to his rules, and it really is good. I've gone down from size 16 to (generous) size 12 since June.

gingernutlover · 22/09/2009 14:22

wow sixfoldwaitingtime

thats amazing!

Can I ask whether people fall asleep liustening to the CD or not? WOuld it matter do you think? I always fall alseep while listening.

Now if I could just get past the self saboutage ..... I might get past the first half stone

My DH lost 3.5 stones.....

I'm currently trying to be rich.

posieparker · 22/09/2009 15:43

My DH always listened to the cd and fell asleep, it doesn't matter at all.

CommonNortherner · 22/09/2009 16:27

I mostly fell asleep while listening to it and it still worked. I've gone from a size 28 to almost into a 22 so far It's been slow because it's about changing me not a "diet", I don't do "diets".

sixfoldwaitingtime · 22/09/2009 16:47

There's actually a version of the CD (I think you can download it from his website) which is designed for listening to as you go to sleep - it doesn't have the wake up bit at the end. If you know someone who's good at searching the web for MP3s, they can probably find it for you....

purpledreamer · 22/09/2009 18:24

Thanks for all the messages. I have a i pod how do i get the cd on to there??

hi there - may I join you? Have been doing this for a couple of weeks and have lost precisely.....nothing.

My biggest problem is not knowing when I am full - and gluttony . It's all very well for him to say only eat food you really like but I'm enjoying it all so much that I can't stop!

How long does it take before you tsrat realising you are full?

(purpledreamer - load the CD into you computer than transfer it onto your ipod don't know the proper words, soprry!)

Tommy · 23/09/2009 22:23

sorry for typos there...

purpledreamer · 24/09/2009 13:39

Well i listened to the cd a few times and for some reason im eating smaller portions ! i made a cooked dinner today and i loaded on all i usuall have and i couldnt even eat half of it so i think something is working !

OP posts:
Tommy · 24/09/2009 18:37

well done - I even left a bit of dinner today as well so maybe something is sinking in...

lisasimpson · 24/09/2009 18:41

Tommy - I know on his tv programme he says try eating with a blindfold on, you will only have your stomach to go on not what you can see on your plate.

Tommy · 24/09/2009 18:43

good idea lisasimpson! I'm caught in the trap of only eating what I really like and enjoying it so much that I overeat...

purpledreamer · 24/09/2009 18:47

he has a tv programme ????

I have the book stashed under my bed somewhere. Reading this thread has inspired me to track it down, dust it off and read it again.

I do remember when I first read it I started eating smaller portions but I do think that it is something that you have to keep going back to for inspiration.

gingernutlover · 25/09/2009 07:09

well i started (again ) monday and am so worried that i wont have lost but really want to get on the scales. I am determined to wait the 2 weeks tho, hoping that will keep me going this time.

A couple of times i have realised afterwards that i atr a bit too much at a meal or i felt myself reaching for a snack but found there is a voice in my head that told me not to - as I wasnt hungry.

I am listening nightly and determined to lose a stone by xmas

Tommy · 25/09/2009 08:03

me too, gingernut

needahand · 25/09/2009 10:17

Can I join? After reading this thread yesterday I thought I would buy the Cds bit expensive but in the long run probably cheaper than Weight watchers or some other diet club.

Also I have tried hypnosis before and it worked really well especially on my insomnia so fingers cross this works too. I have about 2 stones to loose two.

Do you mind if we keep this thread going and compare progess?

I can't wait to receive the cds now!!

gingernutlover · 26/09/2009 07:48

need a hand, you only really need the one CD thats comes with the little book "I can make you thin"

I paid £6 for mine on ebay

Tommy · 26/09/2009 08:33

I got mine - book, 90 day journal and CD for £2 in Tesco!

But I definitely need some support with it all so I'd be glad to keep this thread going.

ihatethecold · 26/09/2009 12:27

ordered mine yesterday from amazon for £3. will be reading with interest how every one gets on,

holeyteatowel · 26/09/2009 13:21

Oh yes it definitely works- but willpower is also required, and maintaining all the rules- you can forget the 'stop when full' bit!
Would also recommend Susan Hepburn's F* Diets CD- similar thing. Someone rather wise on here suggested reading 'Fat is a Feminist Issue'- this is a very interesting, enlightening and inspiring book if you eat for comfort. Try to buy copy with the sequel included as even better than 1st book.
Since Jan, I have gone from size 20 to a size 14 and have not restricted my range of foods, so I don't have that 'panic' of worrying about putting on weight again. Feel in control for first time ever. But never off guard!
You have to be in for the long haul with this I found, but well worth it.
Good luck!
