Ewwww, must have been bad or surely they'd just scoop it out and sprinkle a bit more chlorine in?

Well done on running, am I right in thinking you are imagining your 10k time, you didn't do it again did you????

Had some chocolate brownie mousse mix thing at 6pm (was v delish) then it's chicken kiev and oven chips once DC are in bed, plus half a gallon of wine, the calories of which I have already burned off in the pool so shouldn't be toooo much damage as only had shreddies, green salad and apples to eat today.

Errm, liquid i believe, according to the swimming teacher

Yes, i was extrapolating the improvement in the 7k i did run to a theoretical 10k

620 calories burned here so wine is sanctioned

hotterpotter · 13/11/2009 19:10

620 [impressed] I reckon 400 on my swimming so shouldn't really have had that choc pudding. And there are Tunnocks Teacakes in the fridge...

See how I have not mentioned the pool revelation

forgive me ladies for I have sinned, its been about 2 weeks (at least) since my last weigh in and I fear the way I'm feeling it won't be today either - shall aim for tomorrow although the amount of lucozade I'm chucking in won't be doing me any favours - the sweating/vomiting and loss of appetite might though

hotterpotter · 14/11/2009 08:19

Hey Dizzy welcome back. We will postpone your penance until you are feeling better I lost quite a few lb when I had swine flu so good luck with that too

I was bad last night again , nearly a whole bottle of wine which of course then led to a Tunnocks teacake, a toasted muffin with butter and another slice of bread and butter If I stopped drinking it would be soooo much easier but I don't want to.

Cereal for brekker and maybe just fruit for lunch in an attempt to make amends. My poor tummy, cross with me for all that booze, is crying out for toast with butter and marmalade. Must keep strong...

SazZaVoom · 14/11/2009 12:53

Oh Hots, drinking munchies are the worst . I normally find if i've had a good dinner and yoghurt then the munchies don't hit so much. Also i never have any munchie type stuff in the house. My poor family are deprived but as i do the shopping they live by my rules
Can you do the count to 30 seconds or a minute and then ask yourself if you really want/need it? Also what does DH say to you when you go for a carb hit? Can you give him something to say to you which will help you walk away from the craving but not sound like he is having a go at you?

Stay on the straight and narrow today girlie . For your own good, my lovely.

dizzy I think you will be fine with all your NY walking. Do NOT start worrying about it now - focus on getting better. Lots of vitamin rich food and protein will obviously help that more than chocolate and carbs

Had porridge for brekker, pea & ham soup with 1/2 slice bread for lunch and oxtail cottage pie for dinner. Every winter warmer in one day there i think . Took the DD's swimming this morning but probably burned more calories wresting DD2 into her cozzie than swimming
Off to a 3rd birthday party this avo so will need to swerve any nice buffet foods, cake and alcohol.
Oh dear

dizzydixies · 14/11/2009 13:18

my throat is so bad I can't even eat today, was going to weigh in this morning but am only just up and can't face it - sorry

have sent DH out with the kids as they have cabin fever and he's being fecking useless- they're going to McDonalds and I told him not to bring me anything - does that at least count?!?!?!?!?!

SazZaVoom · 14/11/2009 13:25

That is amazing willpower dizz, i hope he actually listens and doesn't come back with something and say 'oh, i thought you were only joking' or 'i thought i'd treat you to 27 doughnuts, i know how much you like them'

I take it there are still no 'step on and off' type scales in the dixie household

Seriously, i hope you can manage a smoothie or yoghurt or soup to help your throat and give you some energy

Now, where is that mysteriously absent VG??

dizzydixies · 14/11/2009 13:32

I had a hot chocolate this morning but have requested he bring me some 'no bits' soup home from tesco - still no scales, sorry

SazZaVoom · 14/11/2009 13:42

Well text him quick and get hm to pick a set up from Tesco. Electronic. No messing. Hots will agree with me

dizzydixies · 14/11/2009 14:04

his phone is going straight to answering machine

hotterpotter · 14/11/2009 14:59

If your Tesco is anything like our supermarket there's no signal apart from in one tiny corner though. Dizzy don't worry about any sort of healthy eating or weight loss while you are so poorly, just concentrate on getting better.

OK so my family are really proud of me that I have lost so much weight, both my mum and MIL are well built so they know how hard it is, and how rubbish my willpower is. Why, then, has my Grandma brought us a big slab of parkin today followed 5 minutes later by MIL with thick iced buns . It is sabotage, there can be no other reason

Anyway I have eaten one of the buns but managed to put the parkin out of reach for next week. So maybe a B- for effort

dizzydixies · 14/11/2009 15:02

hotter my family are ALL the same and having lost a shed load of weight for cousins wedding in May 2008 they're all right back up and feeling miserable for it

Its all about the mentality of 'treats' equalling something nice to eat isn't it?

certainly is in my world

am on the lucozade again girls, sorry but needs must

SazZaVoom · 15/11/2009 12:11

hots if your family has always used food as a reward then it must be difficult to break the habit i guess. Can you say something or would they take it badly?

I am trying to break the food=reward cycle with the girls and hence DD2 got a sparkly hairband for being a good girl whilst i was shopping the other day rather than a bag of choccie buttons. It is difficult though.

Am thinking i ought to go to the gym today whilst girls napping but doubt i will make it . Maybe a good walk for all of us instead

dizzydixies · 15/11/2009 13:45

its such a lovely day for a walk here but considering I just about ended myself taking the sodding recycling out the back door I think I'll pass

chicken soup and lucozade only so far today - I'd better be at least loosing some sodding weight

hotterpotter · 15/11/2009 15:58

I always say something but they say, oh it's for the children, or well you don't have to eat it, grrrr. I know I don't have to, but I want to

We have had a lovely walk up to the castle today though, and playing in the park too so used up a few extra calories

Dizz glad to see you're on the mend.

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 15/11/2009 16:01

at getting outside, I've serious cabin fever setting in now

hotter - have managed a bowl of super noodles too I know its not great health food but it was soft solid food and the cupboards are bare

SazZaVoom · 15/11/2009 16:12

No walk here as it started raining. Typical

DH now eating crumpets - you can tell who did the shopping . I had half with blackberry and apple jam. Most restraint i could manage

VintageGardenia · 15/11/2009 21:26

Guys apologies for being lousy. Esp to you Sazz as I know I pleaded for running partner and apparently scarpered. After being away last week I had absolutely masses to do & with ds's school change there seems to have been a mountain of unexpected things added to my list (mixed metaphors) so I'm afraid it's just me with excuses again.

However I am going for walk first thing after leaving ds to school (walk off my nerves) and then to gym later in morning to run.

Really sorry have been crap. Also people for supper last night & made ill-advised Nigella fish pie mainly butter & cream and hardly any fish, tons of spud, wine, port, you name it, so am disgrace to the thread.

Re food as reward, I always thought with the bf on demand - which of course I did with both boys - was there not a question about using food as the answer to everything - however it's a subtle thing, isn't it? I am trying to think of TIME as a reward instead of nosh. But it's a hard one to magic up.

VintageGardenia · 16/11/2009 09:45

Tis ex-dh who is the immersionist, he has done workshops all right, one in the UK somewhere for a week and I think a weekend one here. They film you underwater & v interesting the befores and afters. Shall I ask him if truly worth the smackers?

Am I the only one who thinks there is something rather breastual about these biccies or is that just because I am strapping on a sports bra?

Good luck ladies I am FOCUSED this week.
