LOL at cake-dodging and scone-concealing. Hope you can get the crumbs out of your handbag!

Enjoy your swim hotpots. I played tennis yesterday, was lovely. Thinking of getting evaluation & new programme at gym as all I ever do is sodding running.

Out for dinner with friend, drank water in pub then fish & salad & one glass of wine in resto, am I or am I not a worthy member of this thread ? I deliberately told the waitress No Mash Please . And was delicious.

Good work all! Except you Sazzles Although as thread leader I guess you're allowed the occasional jolly.

Managed to talk DP down from a wine and chip craving last night, very pleased We are both doing well. Sausage and sweet potato salady thing for tea tonight, NOT chips as requested. Have leftover baked butterbeans with salad for lunch, and lots of fruit.

hotterpotter · 19/08/2009 19:12

Well done Cyteen on the wine and crisps refusal so is DP trying for dishy dad too? One side effect of my attempts at healthier eating is DH slimming down too, although he was never fat but I am only 3lb away from him now

Sazz is that woo hoo for big bosoms or woo hoo for reducing ones? Sounds a good size whatever the woo hoo reason. Hope you have not compounded yesterday's naughtiness with a Mr. Whippy today at the zoo

VG the FSG sash goes to you today for being in a pub, in Ireland and drinking water [apologies for the hideous stereotype]

Only managed 30 lengths today due to massive pounding headache brought on by exertion , then the robbing bastards in the shop at work charged me £1.35 for 16 paracetamol that I could have got in Morrisons for 16p But I have been good re food, and even managed to drink more water today so hoping not to get bunged up this week.

Yeah, we're both trying to be good and lose a bit of weight. Chips are back on the menu though as I am missing some key ingredients for my salad but they're oven chips so only 5% fat (right?)

God I'm starving. How's your head now hots?

hotterpotter · 19/08/2009 20:18

Much better now thanks, the gold-plated paras must have done the trick. We had oven chips too, at only 5% fat they are perfectly acceptable, and delicious

Just 1/4lb up on last week at my sneaky pre-weigh weighing this morning so hopeful for tomorrow, then just got to get it going down again Might go swimming again tomorrow to make up for the slightly rubbish swim yesterday which will hopefully mean a good day especially as I am on a no-crisps-until-holiday rule.

Burger and chips not soooo bad though surely, as long as burger is grilled and chips not those McDonald type ones that are just oil and potato dust (and delicious )

Still hoping to do swimming tomorrow but knee is giving me gip (gyp? jip?) tis hard being an old gimmer

Hi All

I crashed today and had a latte BUT it was a decaf, skinny, small.

I saw Paul this afternoon and had a fantastic session, came out seriously slightly sweaty but feeling fantastic. Back next week again. Have 2 rowing sessions in for next week and a pilates booked for Friday.

Food was okay today but I caved in on the bread too 1/2 my sisters pannini and a slice of tiger bread.

Sazzles - I had made a veggie curry for dinner tonight so instead of rice I had a slice of bread.

Sazzles - I did feel the weigh but have to say it was considerably lighter that last time I felt it

DH has just come home with a horrible temptation -these I have declined it for now and will save it for my Sunday treat.

oopsacoconut · 20/08/2009 21:30

weight not weigh

hotterpotter · 21/08/2009 06:33

1/4 lb off this week, don't know whether to be or as I am now 12 9.5lb which is only 1/2 over what I was hoping for after the birthday extravaganzas, but still, 3 weeks ago I weighed 12 9 so am a bit disappointed in myself really. Was all that cake really worth it?????

Oh well, I'm sure the next time there's a half-eaten cake lying around at home I'll do exactly the same

6 weeks now to lose 10lb. Gonna be tricky...

Sazz hope you do OK today

Oops and Cyteen you too if you are weighing today

Anyone else lurking and reading this pile of drivel, I hope you get your hot mama mojo back and come and join us again

VG you don't weigh in (well if you do you don't tell us , but hope you're happy with your progress this week

OP posts:
oopsacoconut · 21/08/2009 06:43

HELLOOOOOO

I am 4lbs down from last Friday's weigh in but only 1lb down from Wednesday, unsurprisingly!

HP everyone hits a plateau at some point and it will pass.

Sazzles and Cyteen hope today's weigh in goes well.

hotterpotter · 21/08/2009 09:26

Well done Oops 4lb is brilliant Must make the shakes taste a bit better...

Have just been back and recorded all my loss in a spreadsheet and made a little graph Turns out this fecking plateau has been ongoing for a while now and in fact I only weigh 1/2 lb less than I did four weeks ago [celery for tea]

OP posts:
oopsacoconut · 21/08/2009 09:49

HP - can you try a food diary for a few days, write down EVERYTHING that passes your lips and see if there is anything going that you are not thinking is important.

hotterpotter · 21/08/2009 10:37

Well I have just totted up all the extra wine, crisps, cake, buns and sausages I have eaten in the last two weeks because of birthdays and it easily comes to 7000 calories, and that's being probably a bit stingy on the calorific value of the cake so that accounts for at least 2lbs. No cake this weekend, lets see what difference that will make.

Don't think I should go swimming though, knee quite sore and think that swimming would just make it worse

OP posts:
VintageGardenia · 21/08/2009 10:43

I do weigh in I think, don't I? - but this is the first Friday for 3 weeks have been around, due to hols etc.

When back from hols Sun weighed & was same as when went away - happy with this.

Weighed today and down 2lbs since Sunday which I expected as have had v. busy week and have really not eaten much at all so is not due to willpower but distraction and poor organisation.

4lbs is brilliant oops, are you finding the shakes generally easy enough?

I find restaurants ok really, usually most of the danger food is in the spuds, chips etc, and the salads are usually yummy in nice restos so eg the other day I had fish and salad and it was absolutely sublime, I didn't feel remotely deprived - the sauce was buttery and yummy though, I must admit, and I made sure every leaf was well-coated .

hots do you need to regroup a bit?

Very impressive workout there, sazz! Am hoping to get to the gym this evening, everyone permitting.

I find if I am slipping and starting to munch it's positive thoughts rather than negative ones that help me - e.g. not looking at vile photographs of self, etc, but remembering how great it feels to be going down, how much lighter I feel on the inside when eating well, how that feeling of lightness/happiness is so much nicer than the temporary sluggish niceness I get from polishing off a risotto made for a family of four (personal failing). Anyway hots your overall loss is excellent. This time next week you can be down again.

cyteen · 21/08/2009 11:49

Good work everyone! I am 2lb down from last week (I think - stupid small display on our scales), so that's good. Agree with VG about the sluggishness, that's been the main change I've noticed this week and it feels good.

Wine was consumed last night, but I'm okay with that. Going to do yoga on Saturday morning and lots of walking today.
