A little late in the year, yes, but with summer here, I'm sure there's a few of us hitting the gym! So, to introduce myself.

Name: LollipopViolet, Lolli, LV or any other variation.
Age: 19 (optional field!)
Goal: To lose my belly and tone my body so I don't feel ashamed around my skinny mini mates.
Started: 6/7/09 (I am joining my local Fitness First tomorrow, and doing a session with some mates).

So, tomorrow the regime begins. I am aiming to go 5 days a week when not at uni, and a MINIMUM of 2 days a week from September. I will do cardio, weights, and class that takes my fancy on a given day- tomorrow I am going to try Body Pump. I aim to lose about 4 stone (I think I'm around 13, want to be close to 9, but would be happy with 10). I need to curb my sweet tooth, but I'm sure if I am exercising a little treat won't hurt...

So come on ladies, let's support each other!

Wow LV you've gone from 13 stone 2 lbs to 12 stone 8 lbs, that's 8 lbs lost in total, or just over 1/2 a stone, you've every right to be proud, if that makes no sense to you I apologise, but it probably made no sense to me either when I was your age.

LollipopViolet · 30/08/2009 21:40

No I completely understand! I live with mum and her parents and brother, so we deal in imperial all the time!

I was just in the bath, and noticed, my kneecaps and ankles are more boney!! I don't think I've ever been happier to see bone protruding from skin! Woo!

Davina's power of 3 workout yesterday & 50 mins of Tae-Bo today.

Smalline · 04/09/2009 09:26

40 minutes of Tae-Bo this morning.

LollipopViolet · 05/09/2009 15:17

Went to the gym today, now weigh exactly 79kgs! And I went to next and tried on some clothes I still can't get into size 14 jeans, but could get into a 14 skirt, unfortunately it was very clingy, so maybe when I've lost a bit more it'll be OK

OP posts:
Smalline · 06/09/2009 12:22

2 of Davina's 30 minute workouts yesterday, Pump & Cardio Box.

You're putting me to shame LV, you started off weighing more than me, and now you weigh less.

LollipopViolet · 06/09/2009 16:23

Ah, but I have a family to help me make good choices and no DC's to run around after, so I have an advantage

I'm amazed how much has come off in 2 months! I thought it'd take longer!

Billy Blank's 'Basic Bootcamp workout' this morning, it didn't feel that basic to me, in fact, I felt unfit this morning, still a couple more times of this basic workout, then I can go onto the advance.

Smalline · 11/09/2009 18:38

Davina yesterday morning can't remember which one, and 1 of Davina's 30 minute workouts this morning, I'm actually thinking of doing 30 minutes of exercise everyday now, instead of 45-60 minutes every other day, I don't know how long that will last though.

Smalline · 12/09/2009 10:46

Nell McAndrew's Cardio, Core & Stretch this morning, a great start to the day in my humble opinion.

Smalline · 14/09/2009 13:37

40 mins or Aerobics & pump with Davina this morning.

Went ice-skating with the kids on Saturday, it's amazing how many muscles you use just to keep yourself upright, I think even more are used to pull yourself up when you've fallen. Also did some cycling in the park with the kids yesterday, it all adds up doesn't it!

Hi
Can I join please? Just started weightwatchers and joined a gym.

Age 29
Weight 75kgs
Target 55kgs

I have put alot of weight on in last 2 years, have a ds aged 8 and was back to pre-pregnancy weight when he was 3, now much bigger but finally determined to do it! Did a body attack class on Friday and a spin class today.

Aching but motivated!

Rebecca

Hi Rebeccash, it's great to have you on board, the more the merrier! good luck with weightwatchers.

I'm just having a look at a new dvd that I bought at the weekend, yogalates energizer! I'm not really into Yoga or Pilates, it's not my type of thing, but I might give it a go tomorrow.

LollipopViolet · 14/09/2009 17:32

Welcome aboard Rebeccash

I've been to the gym today, and now weigh 78.4kgs, down from my original of 83.5kgs! Very happy with that!

Hi
Thanks for the welcome. Really aching from spin, could hardly walk to pick my ds up from school lol!

LollipopViolet · 15/09/2009 09:42

My mate is helping me do WW. I'm not into the idea of meetings, so she's worked out my points total, and has given me a really good website with lots of the basic foods covered. Should be easy to stick to hopefully!

Just got back from spin class. Absolutely exhausted and starving!

LollipopViolet · 16/09/2009 08:46

Heading to the gym again today. Went yesterday and have now realised the potential of toning using a barbell instead of hand weights. I was able to lift the bar for longer, and do more exercises with it, and that's basically cut my machine use right down. So now I just use the machines to tone my thighs.

Did the Yogalates yesterday, felt very good afterwards, I'll have to get used to the breathing, always seem to get mixed up, exhaling when I should be inhaling and inhaling when I should be exhaling, didn't feel so stiff when I got up this morning.

35 minutes of Tae-Bo this morning. I'm going to weigh myself on Saturday and I'll let you know the results if it's good.

Smalline · 18/09/2009 10:42

Gave myself a bit of a rest yesterday! 40 mins of Billy Blank's Basic Bootcamp workout today, I didn't find it so hard going this morning.

LollipopViolet · 18/09/2009 11:31

I'm off to the gym later, but oooh this weight training lark makes your arms sore! Mine only now feel better!

15th August I was at my heaviest this year weighed in at 82.6 kilos, weight today 80.0 kilos.

swottybetty · 20/09/2009 22:35

i need to join you ladies. i have to shift baby weight but the darn baby is taking all my attention. gah.

i have never been able to lose weight by dieting. it has to be exercising. however, as well as being difficult-baby-and-stroppy-toddler-exhausted, i am also really very unmotivated. please help me be motivated!

SwottyBetty
Age: 32
Start Weight: 11st 5lb
Current Weight: 11st 5lb
Target Weight: 9st 10lb

I have to keep my goals tiny otherwise my head explodes with the impossibility of finding the time. This week I would like to go to the gym once and do my davina dvd twice. I would also like to walk one tram stop extra twice (about 25min walk).

i had never thought of using dvds but smalline you have motivated me. makes a lot of sense cause the only free time i have is the evening - by which time i am so knackered i'm not going to gym. also dh works a lot of evenings so would be nice to have something to do. which ones do you reccomend? i have a davina pregnancy one which is ok, also a tai bo one which i just cannot coordinate enough for

LollipopViolet · 21/09/2009 11:24

Bah, a relative arrived unexpectedly the other day, so not been to the gym for a while. Definately going today though.

Hi SwottyBetty, welcome, I am so pleased that you are getting some motivation from this thread.

First of all I would just like to say that I would love to be your weight, I'm at least a stone heavier, but I know I will get there eventually.

I have 3 of Davina's workout dvds 'Power of 3', a 60 minute workout broken into 3 sections, legs and bums, upper body, abdominals, you don't have to do the whole workout at once, 'My 3 30 minute workouts', pump, cardio box, core stability, again you can do each workout seperately, and lastly ?High Energy Five?, aerobics, legs, pump, abdominals & boxing, each section is 20 minutes, I'm not really a Davina fan, but I do like her workouts, I would recommend any of them, I like the fact that I can mix and match because I do tend to get bored easily, I know that she brought another one out in the last year or so, I'd like to get that one as well.

The Tae-Bo dvds that I have are all Billy Blanks, most of them have an instructional section where Billy takes you through all the moves, kicks, punches etc, I like his format because he takes you through each routine slowly at first, then once you have got that he speeds it up, If I find it too fast, I just keep to the slow pace until I feel ready to move on.

Karen Voight is another of my favourite instructors, but I haven't done any of hers for a while now.
