Thank you and I hope your daughter is feeling better today Lilianfox, and that you are able to stick to your calories . Its hard when you haven't had much sleep cos you really feel the need for some energy.

wannaBe · 30/04/2009 11:33

good morning.

Have been super good this week, went swimming yesterday and swam 50 lengths in just over an hour so that must have burned some calories. Got on the scales this morning and have lost another lb so far this week so that's 4 lb altogether since starting.

I know I need to stop weighing so regularly but I just have to

ducdo · 30/04/2009 12:14

Morning all, had a busy week at work and no time for exercise so careful to stick to my calorie intake which has not been as bad as I thought.

Managed a run last night and will get out tonight too but then hubby on nights all weekend so any exercise I do over the weekend will have to be with 3 kids in tow .. cycling maybe?!

Need to be careful not to pick at food around the house now I have a nice long weekend to look forward to, as hoping for another 2 pounds off on Monday's weigh in.

lilianfox sorry to hear little ones poorly, its so draining when they are not at their best, but keep up the good work on watching cals and you will be fine.

JustCallMeGoat · 30/04/2009 12:25

still 11 10 but i was 11 12 last wednesday so that is good. the food focus thing is v. good. it certainly motivates me to exercise.

good luck all.

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 30/04/2009 13:53

I popped into BK for the loo with children and noticed a calorie leaflet and what do you know the hamburger on Food focus is wayyyyyyyyyy wrong, so I wasn't over by a calorie at all yesterday!!

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 30/04/2009 16:03

Just discovered that supernoodles are wrong there too, saying it's too little and Quorn sausages were wrong too saying a little too much.
If you have the packet of your food to hand it's always worth looking to see if it's right or not as will have an impact. Otherwise it's a good tool anyway, and it's keeping me on track Smile

Found some lovely fromage frais, Aldi Be light range, 100g pot for 55 cals. Not on FF so have to enter manually.

Ellibop · 30/04/2009 20:00

MaryPoppins I've noticed some inaccuracies too so like you say if I've got the package I enter it manually myself.

Have been sticking to calories this week really well, have even been under for the past 3 days as not feeling as hungry - my body must be getting used to eating a bit less. Haven't managed any formal exercise today as I work on a thursday&friday so they're always busy days, but 'My Fitness Coach' arrived today so will get it up and running over the weekend.

Am thinking I'll be having pizza and a glass of wine tomorrow night but have saved up lots of cals this week so should still be ok. Am hoping to lose another pound this week so fingers crossed...!

Cocobear · 30/04/2009 23:46

Just got back from a pizza night out. Managed to eat only half a pizza (would normally have scoffed whole thing), and stayed within my calorie limit. So it is possible!

Have been running every day, but I think I'll find it hard to keep that up for the eight weeks FF reckons it will take me to lose a stone. I don't think my shins will allow it.

LastOrders · 30/04/2009 23:49

Nice one, Coco!

Only half a pizza? You must have some serious willpower girl!!

lilianfox · 01/05/2009 01:25

just a quick hi before i am off to bed.

thanks kpt and ducdo dd is a little better by this eve and hasn't been sick again. still with temp though but is definately improving.

have had a reasonably good day cals wise and stayed within my limit i think. i had a moment of pure carnage (a little exaggerated) when i raided a plate of chicken that i had cooked without weighing it first! So not quite sure whether i underestimated the grams i added to ff. Otherwise good and with no exercise.

cocobear: so well done that is brilliant. I hope I can have some of your willpower when I am on hols. How was it only having half? What happened to the other half? (LOL i think i am phantasising about it

but seriously how did you do it? did you just decide before you went out etc? just trying to glean some tips for later

see you guys tomorrow

leothelioness · 01/05/2009 06:46

Hi all,
Lillianfox I hope your dd has had a better night than last night. Great job everone for all the exercise and weight loss. I am now dreading the 3 day weekend as i find it much more difficult to fit in exercise and seem to eat more when everyone is at home as I keep picking at things I am cooking.
I have also found that I seem to be feeling less hungry though even though its only been a week since I started food focus maybe my stomach is shrinking (hopefully. I had museli for breakfast but put full fat milk as I was out of skimmed and lunch was not too bad but had a bag of crisps afterwards

ducdo · 01/05/2009 08:08

morning everyone.

Went out for a curry last night with my Dad and managed to stick within cal intake which is huge achievement, I would normally eat loads of food laden with high cal sauces, but not last night .. even with him paying the bill!

Stuck to 2 poppodoms, chicken tikka, green salad, boiled rice and vegetable curry (didn't eat the whole portion). It was lovely and I left feeling very satisfied instead of my belly hanging out of my jeans and very bloated (that would be my normal visit to local curry house!)

Had a 4 mile run too and glad to hear weather will be good this weekend so can do lots of trips to the park with the kids rather than staying at home where all the temptation is.. Good luck all x

pottycock · 01/05/2009 08:34

Hello ladies!

Could I please join in? This seems like a sensible way to try and get rid of my spare tyres, which I can't really call 'post baby' anymore as she's 16mo .

Here are my stats:

Current weight: 11st 0lb / 69.9kg
Goal weight: 9st 7lb / 60.3kg
Target loss/wk: 2lb (0.9kg)
Target date: 14 July 09
Target cals/day: 781
Cals burnt/day: 1781
Current BMI: 25.7
BMI at goal: 22.1

That doesn't seem like many calories and am a bit worried I can't exist on that - is anyone else eating similar, and if so what are you having??

Lucifera · 01/05/2009 08:47

781 calories a day? that would seem impossible to me. I'm on just under 1400 and that's difficult enough, I often go over. Could you decide to lose slower, say 1lb a week, then you'd get more calories?
Good luck with whatever you go for.

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 01/05/2009 10:29

you've not got long to do it in that's why, only 2 months - extend your goal and also lessen your aim per week then you'd get more calories.

kingprawntikka · 01/05/2009 10:53

Hello Potty, I really don't think 781 calories a day would be good for you . I am sure it is supposed to be really unhealthy to drop below 800 cals a day. I think your body would go into starvation mode and hang on to weight rather than lose it. If you change the rate of weight loss to 1lb a week or 1.5lb you will get a greater food cal allowance.

MillyR · 01/05/2009 11:41

I have been doing FF for nearly 2 weeks. I have lost 6 lbs. I have a calorie allowance of 1419, but that is because I am getting 298 calories extra a day due to exercise. I am very happy with FF as I am usually hopeless at losing weight!

ducdo · 01/05/2009 11:47

I agree with the others pottycock, 781 cals seems very low, I would aim to lose 1-2 lbs per week which should be much more realistic and you're more likely to make better progress and keep it off rather than suddenly stop eating loads.

Good luck and let us know how you get on

kingprawntikka · 01/05/2009 12:12

Got weighed this morning and I have lost 2.5lbs!! I was feeling a bit dis-heartened yesterday as I had only lost half a pound . guess my body was adjusting.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 01/05/2009 12:24

I've snuck in a mid week weight and have lost 1lb since Monday! So fingers crossed maybe another 1lb by next Monday.

drlove8 · 01/05/2009 14:33

just weighed myself and im 9st 4lb!!!!! omg ive lost 6lb in a week, surely thats too much too fast.... i dont want to loose weight that quick if it means i put it all back on plus some extra ... advice ,do i eat more or excersise less?

ducdo · 01/05/2009 16:21

6lbs in a week, blimey that is great, were you just sticking to your recommended cal intake or eating loads less?

I am sooo tempted to sneak on the scales rather than wait until my weigh in on Monday but don't want to be disappointed as worried if I don't see a loss (even though have been doing well and sticking to cal intake) that I will undo my hard work .. only 3 more sleeps so will try to keep off them.

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 01/05/2009 16:38

Fab loss! but is this your first week though drlove8? always lose more in first week due to water.

I'm doing fine today not hungry at all. Not had an afternoon snack yet, and no idea what to have for dinner tonight so will have to be careful that I don't stray as I need to plan in advance to stay right.

ducdo · 01/05/2009 17:19

Just had a weak moment and munched my way through atleast 10 pringles out the tube and very tempted to eat more .. also kids leftovers staring at me screaming 'eat me, eat me' .. hope a weak moment doesn't undo my hard work rest of the week, just seem to feel REALLY hungry today

drlove8 · 01/05/2009 17:30

well yess it was my first week. i have tried to stick to the cal intake, sometimes went over and sometimes went under, .kids leftovers are a week point for me too, so i squirt them with wash-up liquid as soon as kids leave them, then i cant eat them
