hahahah bless you having a good day and the sun is shining and I feel loads better, I did not enjoy the feeling in my tummy last night after overeating. I didn't particularly enjoy it ( past the first pack lol!)

How are you going on now? ( sorry hadn't seen your post before I posted there ^)
Have you got plans for what to do next?

LastOrders · 13/05/2009 19:36

College in Sept, spending the summer with my DS.

Happy days!

Evening all, welcome newbies!!

LastOrders, I'm going nowhere, and trust me, my hotpant days are over (if I ever had them!!) I still have 8lbs to target (pesky scales stuck again) but will need motivation to maintain and stay away from chocolate.. Plus it's a nice friendly spot on here!

Trainers look good to me, hope you get them soon. I'm really no fitness expert though, I chose mine by colour, that they were half price and by the fact they had that gimmicky chip in them which links to my ipod (which I love btw!!) I honestly thought I was one of those people in life who was just not meant to run, I have big norks for a start and have to wear two bras but that's another story... Just signed up for Race for Life as added incentive to keep it up.

Have had such a picky nibbly day today, have 11 calories left this evening so if I want my treat pack of Buttons (74 cals) I'm going to have to get the Wii fit step out while I watch Gossip Girl/similar crap tonight..

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 13/05/2009 21:25

oooh two bras? does that keep them in check? I have f cups to batten down

Lastorders - what will you be doing at college? I've gone in just today to find out about BA Child and Youth Studies, leading to a PGDE(PGCE) in Primary teaching

I've discovoered some really nice philly style cheese spread with herbs in Aldi, it's kind of whipped and mousse-like and it's 36cals per 30g which is a lot actually as it is mousse-like and very light.

LastOrders · 13/05/2009 21:34

I'm hoping to do an Access in Social Studies to lead onto Diploma in Social care at Uni.

Should be good, and now is the perfect time.

Though I am a tad scared at the thought of not working for the next 4 years and having to get my head down and study! When will I have time to MN??!!

And my trainers were waiting on the doormat when I got in from work. Hooray!

OP posts:
reducedfatkettlechip · 13/05/2009 21:47

Hooray for the trainers!!

Yes two bras work a treat, (although I should probably just get round to buying a sports bra like normal people!) one bra is my normal size, and the one I wear over the top is my nasty non wired one from when I was pg with ds2, I think it's a couple of sizes bigger but trust me, those babies don't move an inch as I run!

LastOrders · 13/05/2009 21:53

You've just totally blown your cover! You wouldnt catch a pro runner wearing two bras!!

I've just been looking at sports bras on amazon - they're weeeelll expensive.

I'm going to tightly bandage my kahunas, they won't shift then!

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 13/05/2009 22:19

I have a Shock Absorber one and although it makes me look very pointy a la Madonna it does pretty much do the job.

lilianfox · 14/05/2009 01:05

had abit of a picky day myself. What a waste really not even on things that i particularly enjoyed. went out running this evening well i tried. managed 5 mins and then some walking and then maybe 2 mins and some walking. I ended up walking to the gym and did 1/2 hour on x trainer and then jogged home (which was all down hill). Still probably burnt off a few cals .

kettle i reckon you would be super speedy with a sports bra. i just got a cheap one from tesco. i'm not big but it really helps.

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 14/05/2009 08:11

Am 200 cals in credit from last night, and not had my usual breakfast which is around 250 cals as I am off to a coffee morning for friends birthday and she promised HM carrot cake, so trying to make up for that in advance

Have a good food day everyone

Lucifera · 14/05/2009 09:10

Scales stuck. Throat sore. Vile muggy grey day but still no rain and garden sadly dehydrated. Sat next to extremely smelly man on way to work. Just spent ages entering foods on FF (guess quantities of two tablespoons mixed hard-boiled egg, green olives, gherkins, red onion and olive oil? no thanks - I entered it as egg and potato salad). I am a bit fed-up! But congrats and respect to all who are persevering here with calorie-watch and exercise, and I hope you all have a happy day (and that I cheer up!).

LastOrders · 14/05/2009 09:36

Lucifera - sometimes when you have a bad day you've just got to write it off & not stress about it

We all have those days (there's another vanilla crown pastry in the fridge at work that I'd rather eat than throw away, so I'm having coffee break at 11 and will devour it then!) but the beauty is we can start afresh the next day.

Don't worry, you'll be by 1 o clock I expect!

FF is a pain to enter everything, and to be honest I've almost given up on entering things. I find it to time consuming.

I do still eat healthly though and check the calorie content of things first, to make sure I'm not going over (vanilla crowns a one off )

Even if you don't FF, please don't leave this thread. The moral support is worth sticking around for, no?!

OP posts:
Lucifera · 14/05/2009 09:45

Hello LastOrders - thank you! yes moral support is fantastic - knowing that I am struggling along with lots of others. I'm a bit obsessive re FF, I like putting in my tiny bits of exercise and seeing how they affect calories ...

LastOrders · 14/05/2009 09:53

You can input getting children dressed!!!!

How great is that!?!

Wonder how many are burnt up shouting "just get ready for blardy school. And turn that telly off!"?

You'll be fine. Little & often, me gal, little & often.

I'm off to work to scoff pastries! I'll be expecting support later when I come home crying & wailing "why did I eat that?"

wastingmyeducation · 14/05/2009 10:43

Morning!
I'm going to have to start weighing everything. I was inputting breakfast and the difference in cals between portions of raisins was amazing!
I'm doing ok so far, a bit over yesterday, but it takes a little getting used to.
I've never done calorie-counting before. I've briefly tried Weight Watchers, but when I lost a lot of weight years ago it was on Rosemary Conley and there's no counting anything on that. It's a whole different mind-set.

conkeyhead · 14/05/2009 11:15

I lost 3lbs - since monday!!!! I'm soooooo happy!

(this is the girl that put on 4lbs in the first week of WW and ran away crying cos the woman weighing everyone was so disgusted - i've been claiming calorie counting doesn't work ever since!!)

That's 7lbs since I tried on that dress!!

I have to find someone to kiss, my baby is sleeping and can't wake him so I'm going to have to resist kissing that lovely Easter egg giving me the eye in the fridge......uh oh!

kingprawntikka · 14/05/2009 12:10

Hi wasting nice to see you on here! I have lost 3lbs so far , but have had a couple of bad days this week . Don't imagine the crunchie I had for breakfast will help much!!

I am also not entering as much LastOrders , its a bit to fiddly if its home made food rather than ready packed, but Food Focus is good in that its given me a clearer idea of what not too eat and also how many calories I can have a day. I like being able to see what extra calories you can gain by exercising too.

Congratulations on your losses Conkey

reducedfatkettlechip · 14/05/2009 13:35

Well done conkey, that's great!! I didn't fancy doing WW, something about faffing with points calculators put me off.

FF has really opened my eyes to calories though, there is no way I would touch a egg mayo baguette these days, and that used to be my (stinky) office lunch of choice!!

I think I'll probably stop inputting everything if I reach my goal, but if I slip I'll go back to it.

Hope today is ok for you LastOrders..

Gracie123 · 14/05/2009 14:46

OMG!!! You guys just introduced me to food focus, I had never heard of it before.
24 hours on and I can already see what my problem is (snacking on food I'm making for DS, then eating own meal whilst he naps, then picking at DH's food when I make that later).

I just know I am going to be able to lose weight with this helpful little tool.

My sister and mom are doing it now too. They had tried weightwatchers website, but reckon this one is better.

I am forver indebtted to you all.

God bless,

Grace

leothelioness · 14/05/2009 14:59

well done conkey.
I am not doing too well I didn't lose anything this week this is where the scales got stuck the last time I was trying to loose and still have another 10 pounds to shift.
It doesn't help that I live abroad and most of the stuff I buy is not on ff and my kitchen scales have packed in and I donot have the time to enter everything in manually.... Rant over.
Just feeling a bit down as I have not lost this week pls ignore me.

conkeyhead · 14/05/2009 15:16

Well you didn't put on!! Which is always what I do, lose a bit, relax and then put it back on again, so you just have to stay focused and it will move. I think it does come off quite easily when you first start....it's keeping going that's the hard bit!

I've just hoovered the stairs so vigourously I've pulled a muscle in my leg - do you get extra calories for pulling muscles!?!?

Lucifera · 14/05/2009 15:16

Welcome to Gracie!
Leo, 10lb isn't much really - I know how you feel about stuck scales, it's v disheartening when you feel like you've been really good and then nothing's shifting. I haven't lost anything this week either. Quite a few of us on here have said entering foods is faffy and time-consuming, and perhaps more useful is getting a better idea of how much we should be eating and trying to cut down on portion sizes. Hope you see some results next week!

leothelioness · 14/05/2009 15:29

thanks conkey and Lucifera I think I will try exercising a bit more (this is always my downfall) and I must slap my hand whenever I reach for the kids left overs as I am sure thats where the calories are coming from. Portion control is also useful maybe I will switch to a smaller plate. I know 10 pounds is really not that much but it still annoying.
I WILL DO BETTER NEXT WEEK.
