thanks conkey and Lucifera I think I will try exercising a bit more (this is always my downfall) and I must slap my hand whenever I reach for the kids left overs as I am sure thats where the calories are coming from. Portion control is also useful maybe I will switch to a smaller plate. I know 10 pounds is really not that much but it still annoying.
I WILL DO BETTER NEXT WEEK.

leothelioness · 14/05/2009 15:30

oops!

conkeyhead · 14/05/2009 18:47

Leo -I squirt washing up liquid over the kids leftovers before I can touch them!!! I'm terrible for putting stuff in my mouth - realised I was effectively eating another meal per day - esp as have 15 mo who likes slices of cheese/ham etc....one for baby, one for me!!

And now it's that time of night and I really want a glass of wine.....grrrrrrrr!

conkeyhead · 14/05/2009 18:51

Well look at that, that apple I added to my list earlier but didn't have is 53 cals and a glass of wine is only 68!! Fancy that...hardly any difference at all eh?? hmmmmm!

Gracie123 · 14/05/2009 19:25

Ooooh! You are lucky conkey. I only have 21 calories left. Not enough for a glass of wine

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 14/05/2009 19:55

oh dear oh dear oh dear!

I don't feel about my day though - I enjoyed a lovely coffee morning with a friend whose borthday it is today and she made 4, yes 4! types of cake and it would have been rude to not have a bit! Of each!

I barely touched my dinner tonight though, am stuffed! And very tired too assuming from sugar high to low.
On the bright side, I learnt to knit today so that will help me keep my hands busy and out of the biscuit tin!!

Tomorrow is another day. Thank goodness!

wastingmyeducation · 14/05/2009 20:49

I've not had a brill day. I need to learn what foods are lower calories quickly and plan ahead, rather than adding things after I've eaten them and then thinking

LastOrders · 14/05/2009 22:19

Guess what!?

I've only gone and downloaded the couch to 5k podcast!!

I'm gonna run.....run like the wind......run like my life depends on it

Ok, so I'm gonna give it a go...

Thanks for the encouragement guys! Especially kettle

And I'd just like to tell you about my fab willpower today -

I had to reduce stock at work, so all chocolate and crisps were being sold off for 1p each!!

And I only treated myself to one, yes one bag of Maltesers! I'm chuffed with myself!

4weeks ago I'd have bought 20 bars!

lilianfox · 15/05/2009 01:19

Hi

hope you've all had a good evening. Lastorders thanks for your post this eve. i came back from the gym and I was starving and quite desperate to eat some apple pie. However, i was looking for motivation and i read your post about only having the one packet maltesers etc and i thought i would hold out too! Lets hope tomorrow is a less hungry day. I'm determined not to go back to my old ways of snacking in the evening as i didn't feel good about myself. though not sure how i'm gonna cope on my hols if i am struggling already and haven't even gone away yet. Did manage to go to gym though .

welcome to all newbies

leothelioness · 15/05/2009 01:47

Well done lastorders, that must have taken real will power not to buy more. lillian its great to be able to resist the apple pie a month ago I woud have scoffed a large chunk too.
I have an assignment due in next week so will spend much of today and probably the weekend glued to the pc so I need to eat low cal.
Am hoping to get in alleast 2 gym sessions + some energetic park play with the kids this week and see how it goes for next weigh in on thursday.

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 15/05/2009 08:06

Well done you LastOrders, do you agree the buzz from resisting and using that will power to the extreme is far better and longer lasting buzz than from actually "giving in" and having that vat of chocolate?

kingprawntikka · 15/05/2009 09:00

Wow that's some will power LastOrders!! I'm impressed.

reducedfatkettlechip · 15/05/2009 11:13

For anyone still not convinced they can run, I did a 33 min run this morning between torrential rain showers, and according to my magic trainers, I burned a whopping 424 calories!!!

Give me 33 mins of that rather than 60 mins of Charlie Brooks or Davina any day!!

Mmmm apple pie.. I don't think I would have the will power to have that in the house and not eat it, I am not that strong.

LastOrders well done on the chocolate resistance too, that is true will power!

Have now reached my initial target (pre ds2 weight) of 10st 7 so am going to treat myself to a nice Chinese meal out tomorrow night and then start working on the final half stone next week. Get me back on the wagon if I slip though, it is nice not to have a massive spare tyre round my hips and I want to keep it that way!!

Happy Friday everyone! And lilianfox, where are you going on holiday for a month? Make me !

ducdo · 15/05/2009 18:48

Well done kettlechip, that is great and you are so right about preferring a 33 min run to 60 mins doing a workout DVD. I do about the same time running too and like you say, you get great results so its worth it .. even in the rain!

My tummy is actually rumbling at the thought of your chinese meal .. very tempting. If I can keep on track for next weigh in on Monday may have a little treat myself too .. plus my birthday coming up soon so what better excuse!

It's definitely getting easier not to snack and I'm finding I don't need as much food on my plate to fill me up which is good.

Hope everyone has a good weekend and sticks to their cal intake OK. Keep up the good work everyone

LastOrders · 15/05/2009 21:55

I ate a whole fresh baked (small) white loaf today. By myself

I'm a saturday morning weigh-in so will let you know the damage in the morn

lilianfox · 16/05/2009 08:56

oh god

i fell off the wagon big style yesterday! I had gone shopping with dd to m & s and bought a few things with the intention of giving to dp. I always do except dd fell asleep in car and I don't know what possessed me as I wasn't particuarly hungry and ended up scoffing: apple pie slice, cherry scone, a whole bar of their apline chocolate (a whopping 500kcals). But to top it off in the evening I ate a whole pizza and then had cheese and biscuits, more apple pie with clotted cream and a mini choc cookie and some of dd's yoghurt raisins and 2 cups of skinny cow hot choc! Wow

HAven't even put it into ff going to write it off and start again today!

Hopefully i can move on from it now?! Well done to all who have not fallen off you're doing so well.

I don't feel good for having had a bust out and I feel for you too last orders.

I am going to spain tomorrow camping for one month with dp and dd. Looking forward to it and hope you all around when I am back. ALthough I am going to try and log in while I am away so that I can keep going. I am going to set new target weight of 8.7. I imagine I've put on a few of the hard earned pounds that I've lost.

Hope you have good weekends

lilianfox · 16/05/2009 08:57

reducedfatkettlechip...i realise i shouldn't have had the apple pie in house...i am not that strong either!!!

ducdo · 16/05/2009 11:10

lastorders and lilianfox you are both doing so well that a blip in the cal counting whether it be a yummy fresh loaf of bread or a scone and pizza, you can start fresh today and your'll be back on track.

I sometimes get moments of weekness too. I also ended up in bakery yesterday and couldn't resist a fresh scone (which tasted just yummy with a dollop of jam) but why not have a little treat once in a while .. it's not like we're eating like that every day.

Everyone is doing so so well .. keep it up.

lilianfox enjoy your month away, sounds just what I need! look forward to hear how you get on whilst being on your hols.

beaniebaby25 · 16/05/2009 13:21

Hi everyone - can I join?

I started doing FF on Thursday morning... and I've already lost 1kg/2lbs! Which I'm really pleased with. My starting weight is 9st 3 and i want to get down to 8 stone, which is quite a goal. I'm only 5'2 though. My weight loss goal per week is 2lbs.

I admit i'm finding it annoying entering every individual food in a bigger dish (i made veg curry from scratch last night) - and having to find the calorific content of veg etc from a different website! I'm using weightlossresources.co.uk for all the extra info i need and it seems the most efficient way of doing this so far... any other suggestions?

sounds like there's been some real successes on here so far... well done ladies

HuffwardlyRudge · 16/05/2009 19:33

Hello everyone,

I've been doing FF for a few days, and just started Couch to 5k this week too.

I'm not very in to weighing, so will just continue until I feel happier with how I look. I am size 16 now which is the biggest I've ever been and some recent photos of me at a party really depressed me, and motivated me to do something about it. To get back to size 12 would be lovely.

I love FF, but haven't the patience to input every teeny ingredient so I often substitute a similar food. Is that bad? Eg instead of entering every ingredient of a homemade flapjack I just use a generic flapjack.

leothelioness · 17/05/2009 06:16

lillian/ lastorders I it ok to lose it occasionally as long as it is not too often just dust yourself off and start fresh today.

welcome huff and beanie. I often enter the gerneic/ homemade calorie entry as it takes too much faffing around especially when I am pushed for time.
Beanie have the same goal as you as that was my pre-dc weight and I am the same height as you too I am am now half way and my scales seem to have stuck but I am determined to shift them this week

DS1 has finally cracked balancing his bike yay (my poor aching back, sob)

lilianfox · 17/05/2009 09:44

Hithere

Thanks ducdo and liothelioness I am feeling better today and I had a good day yesterday staying withing my cal limit. So I feel I am back on the straight and narrow. Weighed in at 9.3lbs today as I probably wont be able to do any weigh ins for a while as we are off this avo. So wish me luck. I am gonna try and up date. Mixed feelings about all that spanish food! But maybe we'll be able to do lots of walking and swimming as well. I want to continue to work toward my goal while I am away or at least not gain (too much)! [hmmm]. I'm gonna go for 8.7 i think and if i reach that maybe 8 (ultimate pre preg weight) but slowly.

Ducdo I hope you're still here when I get back if I don't speak before good luck with the weightloss and enjoy your birthday.
Good luck all the other ladies working so hard!

Huffwardlyrudge good luck.

Hope you all still here when I get back.

LastOrders · 17/05/2009 09:56

lilianfox - have a fab time, we'll still be here when you get back!! Have a safe journey and good luck wuth the weight loss while you're away.

You may suprise us and get back and be your target weight!!

xx

I bought a Shock Absorber yesterday. Well, DP did! (He doesn't want me to damage his favourite assets !)

So once I've been on holiday and half term is over I'm going to attempt Couch to 5k so we'll encourage each other Huffwardly

I've not had a brill week, but will put that behind me and start afresh tommorrow, joining you with a weigh-in in the morning (I feel lonely doing Saturday weigh-in on my own!)
