I'm not brave enough to put my vitals up yet, will wait for a few new posters to come along and throw me words of encouragement!

So you're CBF!

I replied to your post when you changed and called myself bulldogchewingawasp!

(Just read your post on the overeating thread - how much was your xtrainer?)

OP posts:
TheGoat · 06/05/2009 16:49

ah yes!

xtrainer was £40. definitely worth it, i don't use it atm as i am running.

FairMidden · 06/05/2009 17:18

Saw this on the other thread and the website is fab! Finding it a bit daunting but it looks like at 1500 cals a day I'll be my target weight by, er, Christmas

crace · 06/05/2009 17:24

Can I join in? Am 12st12 at the moment, want to get to 10st2 so a lot to go - am going for 1458 cal per day on the FF site. Do you all do weekly weigh-ins.. Started today, but not sure how to get in exercise for a while, SAHM with animals so do get a fair amount in, really just need to stop stuffing my face!

Anyway, hello!

crace · 06/05/2009 17:26

Coco - yes you will be heavier.. you are gaining muscle and will "gain" weight to start but keeping in mind that muscle weighs more than fat and metabolises better it will start to come off. Concentrate on the how you feel, not the how much you weigh for a bit. (I know this from my pre-kids days and running a lot)

Cocobear · 06/05/2009 18:33

Thanks everyone. Yes, must pick one time/week and weigh in at same time - only did it twice today to see if the news would get any better - and it rather bizarrely did. Maybe I should try again tonight, mighta dropped a stone!

Must focus on the journey and not the destination, eh??

And welcome Crace and FairMidden!

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 06/05/2009 19:35

I have 300 cals left to play with if I want, what shall I have that's nice?

lilianfox · 06/05/2009 21:34

Hi

theothermarypoppins what did you decide to have?

cocobear what a head *uck with the scales. God job you did a later weigh in though otherwise you'd have been disappointed with all your hard work. So congrats on your loss!

I have got what I think is gastric flu or something of that nature . The same thing my dd had last week and is just recovering from. God I feel sick as a dog and have had such bad tummy. Its about the second day I'
ve had it now so I'm hoping it won't last for much longer.

I did get on the scales just to have a peek as I've been so rough etc and I weighed in at 8.13 which is actually just below my initial goal weight. However, I realise that it's mostly water and that when I start getting better I'll put some on...it'll just be interesting to see how much of it goes back on.

That picture of the fat was really gross but it just goes to show how much you lose even with a lb so definately worth it.

Did anyone watch that Claire (from steps) weight loss prog last night? Was it interesting? I have it on replay and plan to watch it soon.

ducdo · 06/05/2009 21:54

me too, its on BBC3 after midnight tonight so have set Sky+ to record it so will watch tomorrow.

Lilianfox that weight is great, sorry to hear you're poorly .. not swine flu I hope .

Feeling very positive about the 5 pounds I've lost so far. In my running stuff earlier (leggings and t-shirt) about to head out the door and DH asked if I had support tights on under my leggings as I was looking toned and my bum was looking smaller than normal! WHOOOP WHOOP, how pleased was I to say no support thank you very much just hard work keeping to cal intake and running each week .. seems the hard work is paying off!

Good luck to everyone for rest of the week and welcome to the newcomers

lilianfox · 06/05/2009 21:57

welcome crace i think we have different days for our weigh ins. Some of us weigh in monday but some on other days. Good luck with ff. I am also a SAHM and before I started ff which will be 3 weeks on monday i used to have a thing about eating lots in the evening and since starting I haven't snacked at all.

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 06/05/2009 22:08

Nice one Ducdo (keep thinking about truffles when I see your name!) wish I had a hubby who noticed things like that.

Lillianfox - I had a packet of fake Aldi quavers and a hot chocolate and a coco pops rox bar which are 84cals and VERY chocolatey.

Crace, I WI on Mondays.

reducedfatkettlechip · 06/05/2009 22:14

Hi everyone and welcome crace!

That is really interesting about muscle weighing more, I've really put on muscle in the last couple of weeks since upping my running and haven't lost as much weight. I'm also exercising every day. Now I understand..

Have lost another pound though, down to 10st 9 so total loss of 13 pounds so far. 9 to go..!!

Have ordered a pair of Fit Flops, they came today but were too small so have gone back for exchange, but flipping heck, you can feel that they're working something when you wear them.

Have also ordered the Wii Fitness Coach (obsessed, moi?! )

This dieting lark is fuelling my already bad Amazon habit..

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 06/05/2009 22:17

fit flops??

Well done on your loss chip can I call you chip?! You'll be lovely and toned, whereas I don't do exercise so will always be a bit wobbly but I don't mind that

leothelioness · 07/05/2009 02:08

Well just weighed in for this week and have lost a pound. I am a bit dissapointed but think it because I really did not exercise much last week so plan bor this week
Eat healthy
stay within the calorie limit
Exercise/swim every day (well almost)

mamof3 · 07/05/2009 08:24

hi all, theothermarypoppinsdiet recommended this thread so please dont think im gatecrashing.
wats food focus about ?

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 07/05/2009 09:03

hi Mamof3, glad you joined us

here's the website www.foodfocus.co.uk

it's an online food diary tool that helps you work out how many calories you need each day to get where you want to be - it also automatically works out your calories/fat/carbs etc each day when you enter foods that you have eaten.

I'm finding it really good for focusing on my portion sizes and apart from first 3 days I haven't had any hunger - I am eating plenty, I think that was just psychological though tbh.

I lost 7lbs so far

crace · 07/05/2009 09:47

Well done Leo!

Yesterday was a bit over, so really trying today. Booked the day up as well with appointments and see a friend to distract as well. Also, cleaned the downstairs. Dh will be thrilled for me trying to lose weight

How is everyone planning their day, pre-plan food or see how it goes throughout the day?

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 07/05/2009 09:54

ooh sorry Leo, missed your post, well done

Look what you lost...

4.bp.blogspot.com/_-7Sk_jU9Uog/SKFzUr7G4lI/AAAAAAAAAr4/HGg0YaLyZt0/s400/1+lb+fat.jpg

Crace I pre plan otherwise I wander... a lot...!

Breakfast was 60g cheerios with 125 mil s/s milk

Lunch will be slim a soup, crackers, cheese string , salad, fromage frais

Dinner will be boil in the bag fish in butter sauce with boiled new potatoes, pea, green beans and courgettes.

Snacks: coco pops rocks bar or a few ginger nuts

reducedfatkettlechip · 07/05/2009 13:45

You can call me chip or kettle or whatever you like, I answer to most things!!

Am v pleased, another pound gone today after being stuck for days on end, so now I have lost a whole stone!! Fanfare please!!

I wonder how easy this will be to maintain once I've lost the last bit. Am going to keep going with Food Focus even when I get there to keep me on the straight and narrow. WIll be nice having a few extra calories to go at though.

Fit flops are these ugly flip flop things which claim to tone up your bum and legs while you walk. I love a gimmick! WIll report back once the right size arrives.

leothelioness · 07/05/2009 14:06

Thanks crace and marypoppins. By the way that picture was gross but better out than in so I have lost 4 coffee mugs of that stuff in the past 2 weeks. yay!

Well done kettlechip A stone (thats how much I am hoping to lose eventually)

mamof3 · 07/05/2009 14:34

food focus states that i can have 1655 cals per day, surely this isnt rite ???
currently im 12 st 5 would like 2 lose 2stone.
hope this is possible ...1655 cals seems an awful lot

Lucifera · 07/05/2009 16:25

I was v pleased this morning to weigh in at 10.9, 2lb less than day before, but suspicious so tried again after shower when it said 10.10 - who knew my short wet hair would weigh so much???
Don't think my food log is very accurate tho' as I don't have time or inclination to weigh everything I eat, and as I mostly have home-prepared stuff, remembering and entering all the ingredients is very hit and miss!

LastOrders · 07/05/2009 18:22

I got a phone call today to say I'm being made redundant.

Someone talk me out of raiding the cupboard and comfort eating for the next 24 hours

OP posts:
changednam · 07/05/2009 19:42

Sorry to hear that lastorders...if you're determined to stick to your diet, give yourself some pampering - a nice long bath with bubble bath and a new magazine maybe rathen than food.

Perhaps go for a walk and have a think about how you can turn redundancy into an opportunity - although it's a terrible shock, some people who've been through it end up saying it opened up new opportunities which they were ultimately glad about.

But if you want to drown your sorrows a bit, allow yourself a gin and slimline tonic with lots of ice rather than a bottle of wine.

I hope everything turns out ok for you - maybe posting on employment issues will give you some moral support from people who've been through it too?

reducedfatkettlechip · 07/05/2009 19:51

Oh last orders, so sorry

Distract, distract, distract. Lots of rubbish tv, a big glass of wine definitely allowed under the circumstances.
