I started [http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/big_slim_whatever_weight_loss_club/673982-so-3-double-G-amp-Ts-and-a-bo x-of this thread]] after Christmas, but like many others I've slipped back into my old ways. Half term was particularly bad and need to kick-start healthy eating/weight loss. Anyone from that thread or any new people care to join me?

MABS - the wagon's still about, tomorrow's another day DD and DS are tucking into double chocolate muffins as I type... I nicked a couple of choc chunks out of the top of ds's!

MABS · 10/03/2009 18:58

well done! am off the vino tho , very hard

madwomanintheattic · 10/03/2009 19:09

8 o clock for davina. my place

MABS · 10/03/2009 19:38

am going out for dinner aarrrggghh

lilolilmanchester · 10/03/2009 22:20

Hi all, am still here. Haven't given up but embarrassed to post because I am struggling (due to lots of work/social commitments and no will power to be good on such occasions). Am away in a hotel again tonight, but bought sushi and a low-cal sandwich for tea and some fruit for breakfast tomorrow to avoid the fry-up. Unfortunately couldn't resist washing it down with a couple of glasses of wine. I think I need you more than you need me but reading how well you all will help motivate me and hopefully other fellow strugglers - thanks to you all and keep up the good work.

It's just that i live such a dull existance in my home nearly 24hrs a day - I don't have the temptation you guys have wafting beneath your noses!

I'm bored without dp here - ds is upset that he's not here and dd now confined herself to her room... I have way too much uni work to do to know where to start...

lilolil don't be embarrassed to post - we want to know all! didn't you see how allovertheplace salivated about upagumtree's wagon-debunking jacket potato!!

Do you use the points you save? I keep mentally challenging myself not to - don't know why, have about 25 of the darn things saved this week...

upagumtree · 11/03/2009 00:16

Oh wabbit, you always make me laugh. PMSL@wagon-debunking line...genious!

For dinner this evening I decided not to have mince

wabbit · 11/03/2009 09:10

Morning all

CrackerNut · 11/03/2009 12:20

Afternoon

God isn't it boring having to watch what you eat lol.

I did ok today and so far so good today. Had cereal for breakfast and have just had 4 ryvita and light philly for lunch.

I am definatly feeling less stuffed than normal which can only be a good thing I suppose.

I also have new motivation in that someone I know and can't stand has just joined a gym and there is no way I am going to let her look better than me lol.

MABS · 11/03/2009 17:37

v funny crackernut!

wabbit · 11/03/2009 18:49

Fantastic incentive Crackernut!! isn't it funny what gets to us? Must admit to there being one person of that kind here that I would hate to see having shed heowge amounts of weight from her bum... tis verrrry unlikely though! [beeyatch emoticon!]

Just about to go for second 'training' session

today
starbucks skinny cappuccino
low fat carrot and orange slice
pear
banana
snack a jacks (salt and vinegar yum!)

supper
stir fried vegetables and chicken

CrackerNut · 11/03/2009 19:44

You haven't eaten very much Wabbit, aren't you hungry ??

I am starving, well ok, very hungry, and I have eaten my dinner of WW chicken curry.

I need something else but don't seem to have anything healthy in.

I must resist.

allovertheplace · 11/03/2009 20:47

Hi all - am accessing via my iPod as DH hogging PC so much harder to write loads - will write more tomorrow!
Wabbit: yes I do use saved points on yummy things at weekends - usually something I have been craving over the week. This weekend it will be a Nann bread and some chicken pakora - ooooh! I can almost taste it's doughy gorgeousness ....... Ahem .... Sorry - had food porn moment there ... Erm, where was I? Ah yes, wabbit - you should use your saved points as there's always the danger you'll eat too little - the whole starvation mode thing. Anyhoo will write more when not jabbing at iPod! X

wabbit · 11/03/2009 21:55

Well, I was hungry before I went out a jog - and it's fish and chip night again in the warren, so I pinched a small bowlful of chips from ds's stash... hmmmm... why are chips so nice?
(added it to daily points)

i've really not had much time to eat apart from that - not even had time to have supper properly yet...

And BREATHE!

I really won't starve myself - The points I save are mainly activity points - only dont' use 1 or 2 points a day, my quota is 21pts a day on average I use 18.5pts
Saved points seem to build up very quickly though

allovertheplace food porn!!! pmsl!

wabbit · 12/03/2009 13:29

... where is everyone? I might be doing ok but I need you!!!

Pear
2oatcakes
goats cheese

soup
wholemeal bread

CrackerNut · 12/03/2009 13:32

I'm here and finding it ever so slightly easier today

Breakfast was cereal and a cuppa again.

Lunch was WW mushroom soup and 1 slice of wholegrain bread.

Dinner is going to be sausage and chips , but I will make sure I have a smaller than normal portion size.

I am pleased with my majorly reduced bread intake, would just like to see some rewards now lol.

madwomanintheattic · 12/03/2009 14:04

i'm starving and have just had a hideous conversation with a policewoman who treated me like i was something repulsive on the bottom of her shoe (i only went in to get a document authenticated to apply for a police check)
i'm now going to raid the kitchen but i fear an old mother hubbard scenario may save me from myself. i can't believe she was so effing rude.

wabbit · 12/03/2009 14:47

Hello both

Crackernut I'm picking and choosing my way through the covent garden soups - they're really tasty and very satisfying too... the minestrone is only 1.5pts per half carton

madwoman sometimes the police force attracts real salt of the earth - on the flip side of that though are the up-their-own-arse shits like you had to deal with today. ExP (ds's father) was a policeman... a worse example for society I cannot imagine (yet remained squeaky clean in the eyes of the law)

I'm sure you held your own in an imperious... 'you're not impressing me' hauteur!!!

madwomanintheattic · 12/03/2009 15:54

i rang up and made a complaint lol.

(after a cheese roll - it was the only thing i could find )

i was totally shocked at how rude she was though - i have never ever had anyone treat me with that amount of condescension in my life. and she was chewing gum. which just about did it for me whilst she was on duty at the flaming 'help desk'.

AND, AND, i still haven't bought any batteries for my scales.

i love the cg soups, but have been v virtuous and made more veg soup myself this week. suspect i may turn orange soon though due to the nature of veg consumed for the past two weeks straight lol.

i may have to expand my soup repertoire

is ww really hard to work out? i just don't know if i can bear thinking too hard about what i'm consuming, and i can't do measuring, it's just beyond me... but i suspect i need something a little more regimented than what i'm doing currently...

upagumtree · 12/03/2009 17:13

Good day all. I have managed to survive my first nightshift back at work following a 4 month illness break. It wasn't as bad as I had anticipated and have lived to tell the tale.

Foodwise...hmm i dunno. I'm not sure if the foods I ate were healthy or not. I had one of those mash potato and roast onion snack pot thingys and a handful of pistachio nuts

Then at my next break I had one of those mixed fruit combos that you buy at asda for a £1.00 followed by a philly light/nacho pot.

Then for breakfast I had 3 half slices of toast with peanut butter. Hmm actually, I think i've eaten way too much. I did however resist the mound of choco cookies and cakes tht some of the girls had brought in for general consumpion.

Madwoman sounds to me that you are in need of a hug, so here it is.....huuuuuuuuuuuuug. One of my friends has given me one of her old WW books. I too am very tempted to try it but like you say I don't know if I could be so strict with myself either. And I workd out my points allowance which is only 18! I'll read the book and then decide if it's for me or not.

You all sound as if you are doing exceptionally well. Keep it up ladies. I agree with Wabit, I need you too

CrackerNut · 12/03/2009 17:14

Well I am now most upset. I've been looking forward to my chips all day but for the past 2 hours I have felt so bloated that I feel sick, god knows why.

Wondering if it was the bread I ate at lunchtime.

MABS · 12/03/2009 17:25

well done to you all, i am being soooooo crap

wabbit · 12/03/2009 17:35

or maybe a surfeit of carrots? Good for you @ making a complaint. Shouldn't get away with not being courteous and i don't know if it's just me, but I'm sure it's easier to be nice than it is to be nasty?

As for WW, I find there's practically no weighing and only measuring in cups/tbsp/tsp so very easy - I wouldn't like the faff of getting scales out left right and centre either. I find it really easy to do the online ww - and not tempted to cheat either (well, not yet )
It takes a few days to get familiar with the capabilities of the site but they've made it very user friendly

allovertheplace · 12/03/2009 18:05

Hello all

Wow a lot has happened today! Good for you Madwoman, for making the complaint. I hope it makes you feel a bit better.

Crackernut - wonder what the weird bloating is. Maybe it's wheat withdrawal, (if there is such a thing) from cutting down your bread intake??

Gumtree - feel for you going back after being off a few months. That must have been hard although it's always good to see what's happened at work while you've been off.

Mabs - tomorrow is another day babes! You might feel like you're doing crap but at least you're thinking about what you're eating, (which I wasn't doing at all only 4 weeks or so ago).

Wabbit - I'm here too! Was out and about a lot today and only just managing to get online now. I have to say, I've been a bit crap myself today - bless me fellow posters, for I have sinned. I shared a scone with butter and jam with DH while out and about and made a curry for tea tonight. Saving grace on the curry is that it was using a shop-bought low fat sauce but unfortunately I made too much and couldn't bear to throw any away so my portion size, (including the rice) probably did for me, oh and I had a lager while I was making it and eating it, (only the one for the whole process mind).

I'm probably only slightly over my points so will use one or two of my saved ones, but unless I can save about 3 more tomorrow, my much anticipated nann bread and pakora on Saturday may be jeopardy

God, I wish I'd eaten more responsibly over the past couple of years. I really want to feel healthy though. I've been having weird pains that I think might be gall bladder related after big, fatty meals for a couple of months, (and only then). It fits the symptom profile and also I'm the three F's, (Fair, Fat and Forty(+)). I will eventually get it checked out if it continues, (while I've been dieting it hasn't appeared once) but it really got me thinking, "what else is going on in this pudgy excuse for a body"?

Anyhoo, on that positive note I'll go off and spread the joy elsewhere.

Keep it up girls!

wabbit · 12/03/2009 18:58

Hi

It's my weigh in tomorrow, and the end of the ww free trial, so will have the added incentive that I'm paying to get to my target weight!
allovertheplace It's a steady process isn't it the slide into a poor diet? I didn't even notice that my diet had changed all that much - only when I started ww did I realise how much sugar/fatty foods I was having and I never used to. Hey ho, can only go from where we're at!

I've no experience of gall bladder problems, do you mean gall stones or irritation?

upagumtree are you working tonight too? Good luck
MABS crap or not - stick with us
