sorry here it is

Dozy Don't beat yourself up about it! You'll do really well this week now! I always find that if I've done really well one week I start 'treating' myself which then negates everything I've worked for and I have a rubbish week, similarly, if I have a cheeky mid wekk weigh in and I'm doing well!

Ceebee I wouldn't have thought that 200 cal would make much difference, but you could try 'topping up' the wine with diet Lemonade or Soda water to make it last abit longer (an old Weight Watchers trick!)

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 20/02/2009 16:26

oops try again

Ceebee74 · 21/02/2009 12:55

Lost a pound - which was to be expected I guess after losing 3 last week - so although a little disappointed, it does take me to my stone (yay ).

So now I am 14 st 9lbs so I feel I am sufficiently below 15 stone that I will never see 15 stone again

Hope you are all having a good weekend - been to a BA class this morning so am feeling good

Dozymare · 22/02/2009 07:52

yay! well done ceebee I am back on track, feeling positive and had a good workout yesterday followed by a 20 lap swim!!! However, not all good, as when I got back, I shared a family size pack of maltesers with DH and still had 7 cals left!!! I chose chocolate over wine yesterday.........

I am so back into the gym though, loving going and would go everyday if I could!! However, the creche is nearly £5 an hour so can't afford it on top of their extortionate prices anyway (anyone else a DL member)

Quick Q - what does everyone do when having a sunday Roast?? It is my favourite meal as we all sit down together, but it is also quite high cal, any options to make it healthier without losing taste? I always make proper gravy, but use a strainer to seperate the fat from the juices - however, this is still really bad isn't it???? Can't stand spray oil either......DISCUSS!

OP posts:
JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 22/02/2009 15:07

Dozy, I;ve just worked out my Sunday Roast and its 400 odd calories. I do

Roast Chicken, no skin
Carrots
Parsips (roasted)
Potatoes (roasted)
Gravy (bisto )

And if I'm feeling brave I go for a yorkshire pud too.

I use one of these for low cal oil intake, instead of using low cal sprays. I used to sell Pampered Chef stuff, so got a whole kitchen full of handy gizmos!

Ceebee Well done on you loss, looks like we are callectively losing that small teeneager.

Shall we have a tally up of weight so far? I like it when we do that [sad cow emoticon]

Jodie - 11.5lbs

mileniwmffalcon · 22/02/2009 18:33

funny i expected a roast to be more but we had one last night and it came out at 475 cals - chicken without skin, peas, new pots, mashed swede and parsnip with a little butter, gravy made in the pan (using wlr's home made chicken gravy entry). i think as long as you pile up the veggies and avoid skin/crackling you can usually get away with it. i did pork shoulder and crackling last week and that was more like 750.

i'm feeling really positive today as i earned my most ever exercise cals: 738 and still have more than 1300 to have for tea . my trick of upping f&v seems to be working, without making a particular effort i've been under cals every day this week (only on 1lb loss so it's ok to be under).

sorry about your gain dozy - sucks doesn't it. but if you don't let it knock you off track but see it as a challenge instead then you could make a decent loss next week (and tbh i'm suspicious of big moves either way - averaging it out over a few weigh ins seems to be the way to go).

with my gain last week i think i'm on 9lb loss - still not to be sniffed at

mf + jodie = 20.5lb

how's the running going jodie?

Dozymare · 22/02/2009 18:54

Thanks girls for your encouragement - we had roast pork today, and I ate the cracking, chewed it up all, then spat it out!!!!!! all the taste, but none of the badness...how sad is that?!

Jodie didn't know you were running as well.....I am as well, really getting into it as well, this time a year ago, I could run 10k in 56mins.....but pregnancy, no excercise, and an extra 4 stone to lose, out a stop to that! I am back up to 5kn though in 5 weeks so reall ythink it is achievable. What are your goals???? what sort of level are you at???

Has everyone had a nice weekend???

I ahve lost 12lbs to date......

riven + dozy + mf + josie = 39.5lb = average 5yo girl

Ceebee74 · 22/02/2009 19:55

Evening all

riven + dozy + mf + josie + ceebee = 53.5lb = ????

Running I hate running with a passion - have never been able to do it although I think I would quite enjoy it if I didn't find it so damn hard- a full BA class is fine - even the running track is ok - but just not plain old running (am sure it is psychological )

Gym also love it and would quite happily go every day if I could. BC (before children ) me and DH used to go 5 days a week pretty much from when we met (14 years ago ) - it was our social life -we came home from work, went to the gym for a couple of hours and then went home and had tea! It still makes me why I ended up so big when I was exercising so much...I must have been eating way over my calorie intake consistently for a few years I guess. No-one in RL really understands (apart from my gym friends) - they all think we are mad because, for them, going to the gym is a chore whereas I love it!

Anyway, enough waffle from me....am off to enjoy my weekly treat of Dancing on Ice and a bowl of M&M's

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 22/02/2009 20:20

Wow we've lost a load between us!

Riven well done, thats really good going, are you still in active? So all that is just down to eating well?

MF I completed my Couch to 5k Week one today, and I;m looking forward to starting week 2! Thats so mad as I hate running, I;ve never been able to do it (Ceebee you sound like me!) I used to be an Air Hostess and I used to go to the gym/swim 4-5 days a week, I'd ALWAYS go on my days off and I'd use the hotel gym/pool wherever I was, and it used to frustrate me so much that I souldn't run (fine doing an hours class though!) so when I heard about Couch to 5k from MF I thought why the hell not! I'm doing the Race For Life in May, so thats my challenge for this year!

MF How's you knees?

mileniwmffalcon · 22/02/2009 20:31

53.5lb = heavier than the average 7 yr old

go jodie i think the c25k plan is really cunning - it leaves you wanting more rather than leaving you in a pukey puddle in the corner swearing never to run again (although i've not done more than 3min yet, it sounds like that may be yet to come!). my knees seem to be much improved thanks for asking. i took a few days off and have increased my warmup to 10 mins (apparently important if you run first thing when the muscles are cold) plus i'm running as gently as can manage. i start wk 4 next week, should have been today but i forgot and did wk 3 again!

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 24/02/2009 17:05

Where is everyone? Are you all doing OK?

Just off to a BC class, and weigh in tomorrow, am due my AF, so we shall see!

Dozymare · 24/02/2009 20:25

Hello, Hello

I am here, plodding on.......having a good week so far, did 60mins of Body Combat today and gave me 808 excercise cals so I had 2 creme eggs

I am also due AF although only 2nd once since having Tiger so goodness knows when it will appear. I feel quite soon as have got very spotty on my chin (which is a key area for hormonal changes!)

How is everyone else doing????

good luck for tomorrow jodie

OP posts:
Ceebee74 · 24/02/2009 20:50

I'm still here too

of you 2 doing your BC classes - DH is away again so stuck with my exercise DVD's instead - am trying to train Sam to stay asleep whilst I do it rather than whinging for most of it...makes it very hard to focus

Jodie good luck tomorrow

Dozy I am of the 2 creme eggs although I did eat one of those small tubes of mini eggs last night in bed

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 24/02/2009 21:24

dozy What do you input BC in the database. I've been putting it in at High impact Aerobics, but that gives me 300 ish Cal, not 800. I WANT 800!

Dozymare · 24/02/2009 21:28

I am putting it in as Body Combat!!!!! Let me know what you get, I queried it with the help team, but as I am such a heifer, and because this is sooooo hard, they reckon it is right!¬ (Who am I to argue if I get to eat 2 creme eggs eh!)

Also, does anyone want to run the London 10,000 10k race with me in May???????

OP posts:
JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 24/02/2009 21:32

Oh I didn't know that Body Combat was on there!

As for the run, I'll pass, am in training for a 5k run in May, and thats enough at the moment. Maybe 10K can be my next challenge???

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 24/02/2009 21:43

Oh thats better, 600ish cal, I only put in 50 mins as we have small breaks when the tracks change and we have 10 mins at the end doing conditioning tracks and cool down.

Really enjoyed the class tonight, felt like I;d put more effort into it and I sweated a whole lot more than normal.

Dozymare · 24/02/2009 22:06

they take that into account!!!!!!!! Off to bed now, am shattered!

OP posts:
Ceebee74 · 25/02/2009 08:41

Dozy is that true - that they take into account the pauses between tracks and the toning work?? I have looked at putting BA in - but 60 minutes of BA gives me 848 calories which I thought was way too much - plus I thought it would be more like 50 minutes of actual work - so, like Jodie I have been putting it in as 50 minutes of high impact aerobics.

Would love to do the 10K run with you - shame I am the other side of the country

Jodie how did you get on today?

Dozymare · 25/02/2009 10:29

i emailed the help team and whoever replied said that it is taken into account. The reason I get over 800 cals is because I weigh so much....However, it is working so I am not going to argue!!!

Didn't get a chance for gym this morning as Tiger unsettled....teething is my guess!

OP posts:
JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 25/02/2009 15:45

Well I stayed the same this week am so about it! I thought I'd been good, but then thinking back I did have a big chinese on Saturday, and although I've stayed in my allowance and doen 3 'jogs' and 1 BC class, I suppose I still have to watch the sort of things I'm eating. Will I ever get to that Stone??????

Went for a jog this morning, week 2, so 2 minutes walking and 90 seconds running, was tough, but could do it! I'm really surprising myself! DH has an application called Memorymap n he PC (he does alot of walking up big hills/mountains!) and he's been tracking my distance, on Sunday (the last week 1 run) I covered 2.2 miles, in 30 minutes, which is really motivating as my target is 3 miles!!! I can't wait for him to get home and see how far I went this morning!

mileniwmffalcon · 25/02/2009 15:54

wow that's a lot of cals! i'd definitely have a heart attack if i worked that hard

i'm a bit nervous about weighing in tomorrow after last week's gain. i've been slightly under every day except today (dd1 off school with earache, so missing my usual exercise cals again ) so it should be ok but last time i looked i was up another lb

still i'm feeling reasonably slinky, i found out on the weekend (not telling how ) that i can now take my jeans off without undoing the button

but best of all i can "run" again so tbh even if i'm not seeing progress on the scales i'm feeling progress there. i can run 5 minutes now! (stop sniggering gym bunnies :P)

mileniwmffalcon · 25/02/2009 15:58

xpost jodie sorry you didn't lose, but hey you didn't gain

that's fantastic going with the running - i manage about 1.5 miles but that' without the warmup walk.
