Dozy congratulations! I didn't realise you were poorly - hope it improves asap.

I have just had this top delivered - my god, it is SO flattering if you have a mum-tum! I can't believe it! I would definitely recommend them (they are on offer at the mo so 2 for £18).

Ceebee74 · 14/03/2009 12:53

Another 1lb loss for me this week - at least I am being consistent

Now weigh 201 lbs so my aimm this week is to really try and and get under 200 lbs.

DH is away all week (he may be back on Friday but he doesn't know yet) which means I am going to have to rely on exercise DVD's and walking this week.

LB well done Obviously drinking copious amounts of pink wine is the way to go

JODIEwantsanewname · 16/03/2009 11:31

Well done everyone this week!

Dozy I see on FB that you've had your tonsils out! Hope you are feeling better.

Well this week I'm aiming to stay the same, I have had to rest my knee and as a consequence, haven't done any excersise and I;m finding it really hard to stay in my calories. I had a sneaky peak this morning and I'm still the same, so if I'm super good for the next 2 days I might lose something

Dozymare · 16/03/2009 11:41

hello all.

I'm home and up but very weak. Apologies for not reading what has been going on, I hope I am not interuppting one of our good discussions with me post.

Anyway, felt under the weather Mon-Weds last week, but put it down to training quite hard at the gym and a long run Wednesday, started feeling a bit sore throaty Weds night and by Thursday morning I knew I had tonsillitis. (DH took day off, went to Dr who prescribed AB's) Nothing unusual there as I often get tonsillitits. Slept most of thursday and friday, then 5pm teatime couldn't breath properly. Immense pain and so went straight to A+E who put something in my throat to aid breathing, and dripped me up. Bloods came back v.bad so then had to be transferred by ambulance to a London hospital where I then have had over 21 bags of IV antibiotics, 8 shots of anti inflamatories up the arsenal, plus numerous drips for dehydration. Was a shocker.

Also testing for Glandular fever but won't know results until tomorrow. Have to have my tonsils out ASAP (but I am pushing for June as I have my 10k run place confirmed in May and really want to do that) which infuriates me as have always suffered from Tonsillitits and they have always said no to taking them out. Seems you have to be in breathing difficulties before they consider that now days.

Anyway, begged to be let home, I like my creature comforts so got lots of "wacko Jacko" masks to wear around house, although am staying away from kids until they confirm NOT glandular fever.

Am incredibly weak, tired and my body has taken a real hammering. Plus, since friday I have GAINED 8lbs. This despite not eating a damn thing. Surely can't all be water retention.....Must be only person to go into hospital, not eat and put over half a stone on. Gutted about that, really I am.

Anyhow, just wanted to catch up, I will do my best to read, but obviously won't be posting at my usual rate.

oh good lord dozy hope you're feeling better very soon. try not to fret about the weight right now - although if it went on that quickly it must be water and i'm sure it'll come off again just as quickly.

take care and make sure you eat as well as you're able to speed your recovery.

Ceebee74 · 16/03/2009 20:15

Dozy get well soon and I really really hope it isn't glandular fever Make sure you get plenty of rest - hope you have some help with the DC.

I posted a thread on WLR about whether it is better to diet with or without exercise (prompted by the fact that my sister lost nearly 4lbs this week without setting foot in a bloody gym ) Obviously I am not going to stop exercising as I genuinely enjoy it - but one suggestion was to only eat 65% of your exercise calories. I think I am going to try that this week and see what happens!

JODIEwantsanewname · 17/03/2009 10:58

dozy Poor you, I really hope you feel better soon. (and I hope it's not glandular fever! Don't worry about your weight, as mil says, it will come off very quickly, just make sure you get loads of rest x

ceebee You are right, I think I'm going to only use 1/2 my exercise calories from now on, maybe only input 1/2 of what I do, so it's not temping to 'spend' them!!

Well I've just done this months measure and I've lost 5.5 inches!!!!!!! (which makes it 27 inches in total!) Doesn't make me feel so bad about holding onto some of the weight now

Am out for DH's birthday tonight and I think we are going for a curry. I know they are very fattening, so I usually go for a tandoori chicken, (yawn) but what do I do, I can either drink water and eat what I want, or have a tandoori and have a couple of glasses of vino!!!! decisions, decisions! (really there is nothing in it!)

JODIEwantsanewname · 17/03/2009 11:07

ceebee I have just seen your thread on WLR, and people do have a point about body shape and inch loss, when I lost my weight before I got pregnant I was all wobbly, but still only 10st 5lbs... I feel much 'firmer' now at 11st 5lbs, even if I'm bigger..

Ceebee74 · 17/03/2009 11:30

Jodie I know the answers on WLR are right and it is not as if I am going to stop exercising as that would feel like I have chopped off my left leg iyswim - exercise has always been 'what I do'.

Well done on the inches I am not measuring myself but just tried on my pre-pg jeans and they do up better than they did last week - they would at least be comfortable to wear now rather than me being squeezed in - so they are now wearable - yay!!

I hope your decision involves the wine

JODIEwantsanewname · 17/03/2009 11:37

ceebee You got it!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 17/03/2009 17:27

Blimey dozy hope you are feeling better soon.

Have been swimming today. My parents have jjust moved and have now got a small indoor pool with on of those jet things so you can swim against a current. So while DD was splashing around behind me I got on and swam, and am going to try to do that 3 times a week, plus now the weather is perking up can get out in the garden which needs some serious work doing on it.

I did go out last night as it was my fathers 75th but went for the fish options which were healthier cooked.

mileniwmffalcon · 18/03/2009 08:42

at your parents' pool five

FiveGoMadInDorset · 18/03/2009 08:53

I can make you more jealous and tell you about the view over the river

mileniwmffalcon · 18/03/2009 09:43

pah views i can take or leave private swimming pools though

Dozymare · 18/03/2009 09:47

also at private pools! Once we are all slim and lithe, reckon you should host a pool party for us to parade in our bikini's

Poor Dozy how you feeling now hun?

Another 2lb loss for me this week. Puts me at 13st exactly. So close to the 12st area and closer to my target weight.

JODIEwantsanewname · 18/03/2009 12:01

Five Itoo am of said pool!! (and the views!)

missn Great news! What is your target?

I've lost 0.5lbs this week, am abit though, wasn't expecting anything really, still got 0.5lbs to go until I get the stone, I think I'm sub-conciously sabotaging (sp?) myself, it's taking me ages!!!! After my stone I will be at 11st5lbs, which then means my next 'target' will be under 11 stone.. I need want to be at 10 stone by my 30th birthday in August, but that seems like such a big amount I'm taking it one step at a time......

Did I tell you guys that I had to send back a pair of size 14 jeans and swap them for a 12!!! Happy days

mileniwmffalcon · 18/03/2009 12:01

yay miss n

i weigh in tomorrow and have high hopes for some kind of loss (rather than yet another "gain"). i've done really well this week, managed to make up for a foody/boozy weekend with my best ever exercise week (2100 cals) and i'm on the last leg of the c25k - no more walking now, ran 4k this morning

mileniwmffalcon · 18/03/2009 12:03

lol jodie, i'm hoping to make my stone this week too. congrats on loss no matter how small, is right direction
