ceebee How did you get on???

five welcome back. Hope yo had a nice time.

mil Runnings going fine, thanks for asking, I;m on week three now and I;m constantly surprising myself! Who'd have thought I could run 3 mins straight!

ladybuzz Glad you feel better for cooking for 1

Well I;m going to have a crap weekend calorie wise as we had a takeaway last night (I did only have tandoori chicken though and was still 300 cal under for the day) And we are having a dinner party tonight, so I'll be about twice over I think. Oh well, looks like that stone will have to wait another week to come off!!!! There si always something isn't there!!!

LadyBuzz · 08/03/2009 08:30

Oops put 1lb back on this week I know why and I have no excuse.
Oh well this week I am going to be good!

Hope everyone is OK

Jodie hope the dinner party went well

Ceebee74 · 08/03/2009 13:03

Sorry I didn't post yesterday but we went to my parents for the day.

I lost 1lb which I was expecting - and as I lost 3 the week before, it is averaging nicely at 2lb a week

Completely blew it yesterday though - mum had done a full roast dinner followed by lemon meringue pie and then as it was my bro's birthday, we had a party tea with sausage rolls, quiche etc followed by the most scrumptious chocolate birthday cake from M&S - and I had huge piece We did go for a 2-hour walk though in the afternoon - but it was toddler pace so not that great!

Ah well, am going to be really good all week and try and save at least 100 cals a day to try and compensate.

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 09/03/2009 11:40

ladybuzz But this weeks a new one, so good luck

ceebee well done on the lb!

Dinner party went really well, but was about 600 over for the day (was the wine that did it really!) And now I;ve done something to my knee and it hurts like hell! so haven't managed to go out for a run, what a PITA.. Will have to do some Wii fit tonight, going to try BC tomorrow, I'll have rested it for 6 days then, and go to docs on Weds I think...

Dozymare · 09/03/2009 21:34

this will make you all feel better, I am 1.784 OVER already!!!!!!! Like you jodie far to much wine! However, with lots of excercise rest of week, I should be on for 1lb loss

Dozy STOP WEIGHING YOURSELF EVERY DAY Honestly, you will drive yourself mad as I have realised. I have been weighing myself constantly and my weight fluctuates so much during the week that it plays tricks with your mind!

I don't see anything wrong with your pattern of pigging out at weekends and then being supergood during the week - if you are still losing weight by doing it this way and you are happier then surely you are more likely to stick to the diet iyswim.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 10/03/2009 13:57

Re starting today with a vengence.

Dozymare · 10/03/2009 16:57

Welcome back five why not start on Friday, it is defiantely the best day as if you are bad at the weekend, then you have all week to catch up - it is my weigh in day, and I love it!!

Ceebee I know I shouldn't weigh everyday, and some days my weight varies by as much as 4lbs (anyone else)!!

However, i can't help it

Been v.good today, just had couscous and feta salad with a chilli dressing and a custard donut couldn't resist as was on the palte at a friends saying "eat me, eat me" I did however burn over 800 cals at body combat so can treat myself to that!

Stirfry tonight...hopefully back on track!

DM xx

FiveGoMadInDorset · 10/03/2009 17:01

Stir fry here aswell, yum, have been cooking for DS but as it is all goast milk and goats cheese then haven't been tempted to pick.

Ceebee74 · 10/03/2009 21:03

Dozy lol - my weight varies dramatically throughout the day - and it can be as much as 4lbs too

Five welcome back

Does anyone else feel that this is not a 'diet' in the old-fashioned meaning of the word? I seem to be able to eat chocolate/cakes every day which is just fab Some days it seems almost too good to be true!! What it has done has completely transformed my thinking - for example, tomorrow I won't be able to do any exercise, apart from walking to and from nursery weather permitting, so I know I have to have a lower calorie breakfast, lunch etc - even though it is completely common sense, before this, I think I would have eaten the same as a day with exercise if that makes sense?

Have just had a little tub of mini-eggs

Dozymare · 10/03/2009 21:27

this is what I LOVE about it ceebee like you, tomorrow won'tbe exercising so know I have to be v.good. (What is not so good, is that I skip breaskfast to save cals for the aforementioned crap later in the day!)

Still, it is working, so we can't complain eh!

OP posts:
mileniwmffalcon · 11/03/2009 06:59

morning everyone. glad it's all sounding positive on the thread you're right it's not a "diet" it's a way of managing how you eat for life i reckon, having the information in front of you in black and white makes it easier to make the right choices.

i weigh in on thursday mostly through chance as that's when i started, but it suits me because it gives me time to make up for a bad weekend but also to save up a little in advance.

i've found that since i've been on a strict (for me) 1.5lb loss i've started eating breakfast when i never did before. probably because i'm having smaller evening meals and they don't see me through to lunch like they used to! now if only i could face something less calorific than fancy muesli that's half nuts...

my next weigh in is tomorrow, have been good and not peeking, but will probably give up in disgust if i don't lose - i've been sooooo good (lol, well, except yesterday, but i should be on target for the week).

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 11/03/2009 12:05

YEAH! 1lb off. Only 1lb to go for the stone......

Someone please tell me why, last week I only lost 0.5lbs and I went running 3 times and BC once and was super super good, this week I've been rather shite and no exercise beacuse of my knee, but lost 1lb?

Did BC last night and it was a different 'teacher' it was good, but I missed the other lady! Her routines were slightly different so I did't feel like I worked as hard (still pushed it though) as I kept losing my footing/rhythm IYKWIM..

Welcome back five Good luck for this week....

Ceebee74 · 11/03/2009 13:12

Jodie well done Have come to the conclusion that there is no rhyme or reason to this weight loss business - when my 2 had chicken pox and I was housebound for a week and couldn't do any exercise at all, I lost 3lbs yet the weeks where I have done tons of exercise, I am lucky if I lose a pound tis very odd indeed and am wondering if no exercise is the way to go

(And, my sister is also trying to lose weight and has lost pretty much the same as me but with no exercise at all)

Maybe WLR is wrong in the number of calories we use whilst exercising? Maybe we shouldn't be eating our 'exercise' calories? I have no idea!

mileniwmffalcon · 12/03/2009 07:45

yay 3lb loss so definitely water retention last week. i'm 1lb off my stone now, 8lb to go till goal. and even better i ran 20 minutes non-stop (if verrrrry sowly) yesterday so i'm on my way to being a proper runner! hope your knee's feeling better jodie.

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 12/03/2009 08:25

Yeah, well done mill Thats great. And great news on the running too, 20 mins is stuff of dreams for me. My knee is knackered, am going to see the doc this morning, it's such an odd pain, it's really tender to touch all down the one side

ceebee I think you might be onto something about the extra calories you know, I might start nly using half of my exercise cals from now on...

dozy how you getting on this week?

five have you started again yet?

riven where are you? How you getting on?

ladybuzz Are you OK?

missnatalie · 12/03/2009 10:03

-2lb for me this week . Puts me at 13st 2lb. Its also TOTM
so didnt expect to lose even a lb. Oooohhh im nearly in the 12st area .

ceebee im with you on the exercise theroy. I went to my mums for a full week and did no exercise and lost 3lb. When i came home and exercised i lost only 1lb. Im going to try and not eat my exercise calories from now on. I always wonder if there correct anyway .

Well done on the loss everyone

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 12/03/2009 10:58

Oh Missnatalie Well done! Looks like everyone is having good weeks....

I've just come back from docs and all is not lost, he just thinks it's a sprain and told me not to run on the tow path anymore as it's too uneven and that's what could be causing the damage, and to wear a strong support when running/BCing, so thats good. Just need to get a support now....

mileniwmffalcon · 12/03/2009 11:45

glad it's positive news jodie

and yay miss n that's fantastic, 12s here you come

LadyBuzz · 13/03/2009 07:28

Jodie glad it isn't anything serious

Well done with all of the weight losses.

Have had a slightly better week this week and my manic day of cleaning yesterday will have helped no end. Although the Burger King perhaps will not .
Had a sneaky peek yesterday and I do appear to have lost this week.
I can now get back into my pre pg2 jeans (size 12) not comfortably but in them non the less

Must try my dress on again and see if it is any close to being able to fasten.

Girlies are coming round tonight for wine so I must be extra good today to make up for it.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 13/03/2009 07:40

Well done all on losses, I have managed to get down to what I weighed a couple of weeks ago so lost but not lost IYSWIM, have discovered raw carrots to munch on during the day which is helping.

mileniwmffalcon · 13/03/2009 09:44

yay for pre-pg jeans i'm not quite back into mine yet, but close.

my mum's cooking lunch tomorrow which will undoubtedly involve large quantities of pie, roast potatoes and red wine. then there's the rugby in the afternoon so there's absolutely no hope for me! perhaps i'll be so hungover i don't wake up at all on sunday - that might work...

Ceebee74 · 13/03/2009 10:47

LB am very about both your pre-pg jeans and them being size 12! Although I can just about squeeze fit into mine now, they are still a size 18 which I guess shows that I wasn't exactly slim before I got pg the second time - I never lost the weight in between!! I just want to be a size 14 again!!

Mill I am sure you will have a good day tomorrow - enjoy it and then get back on the bandwagon on Sunday - pie and roast sounds delicious

mileniwmffalcon · 13/03/2009 11:53

ceebee i was an 18 after dd1 and never imagined i'd be slim again. but i discovered wlr and got down to a 10 (if anything a bit smaller than pre-pg) just before i got pg w/dd2. so i have total faith that it will work again for me. only this time i have no intention of getting pg again! (lol, if that's not tempting fate i don't know what is)

Dozymare · 13/03/2009 13:07

morning all

3lb loss for me this week which takes my total loss to 1 stone and 5lbs. However, haven't eaten for past 36 hours as have had tonsilitus so suspect that has something to do with it! I still feel like crap though

well done everyone on their losses!
