Ladybuzz that is fantastic - well done

Dozy I feel like that everytime I get on a treadmill and run so I guess I am the wrong person to ask

Ended up having a takeaway this evening but opted for a chicken kebab as decided that was probably the healthiest option - although the garlic sauce and garlic bread that I also had probably negated that

Dozymare · 03/03/2009 07:30

having a bad week Someone please explain to me why I have a good week (ie super strict, lose 3bs) then have a bad week...It is almost as if I am trying to reward myself for the good week???

Was bad at weekend, lots of booze, chocolate, takeaway and then had a good day yesterday until DH said "I have ordered a curry". He did get my chicken tandori, but I still had half his Masala....

WHY??????

Am off to BC this morning, then reckon will have to eat bugger all (excuse swearing) for rest of week if I am to even lose anything as scales are putting me 1lb up already!

AARRGGHHH....

Dozy don't give up hope, I seem to fall into the same pattern alot of the time. As long as we only have the odd bad week then we will be fine.

I'm struggling as I have to cook for one now, I eat with DS but am finding it easier to just have whatever he is having which is not generally the most healthy option!

Need to get back on track and start thinking of quick easy meals for one - Anyone???

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 03/03/2009 09:25

Dozy Don't give up hope, you still have 3 days left to make it up, just be super good now!

Ladybuzz If I eat on my own I do an omlette, or stick a JP in the microwave and depending how many calories I have left I either have it with lots of salad, or Beans, or Tuna. Very filling. Also when you buy meat, take it out of te packaging and wrap it individually, before freezing, so when you defrost something (eg Chicken fillet/porkchop) then you are only defrosting 1 instead of 2 or 3! Eat with potatoes, even oven chips (thick cut) aren't that bad, and salad or veg. I try to stick to a low cal breakfast and lunch, so a bowl of cereal with SSmilk, and then Weight watchers Soup for lunch, snacking on fruit inbeween, then if I am naughty it doesn't really matter all that much.

My weigh in is tomorrow and I weghed myself this morning (WHY DO WE DO IT TO OURSELVES???) anyway only -0.5 for me, but it could all magically disappear overnight! (I am doing a BC class tonight!)

Dozymare · 03/03/2009 12:36

Thank you I love you girls for the encouragement. Have just been to BC, really went for it and feel great! Now going to be extra super good now until Friday and hope for the best. Not going to weigh myself either!

Thank you xxx

ladybuzz stirfrys are excellent, I eat loads.....chicken, prawn, beef strips....lots of noodles and ready made veg mix plus a sachet of fresh sauce...so filling and really, really yummy! Otherwise, Jacket pots, chicken and salad.......

Will catch up and post more later - in a rush as need to feed Sam before picking DS1 up from nursery.

Have just been to the Trafford Centre - was there for 4 hours. Was pretty much walking round shopping for all of that apart from about 30 minutes when I had a yummy chicken salad at Nandos. Anyway, how many minutes of walking would you put down?? Do you think an hour of walking at a fairly slow pace would cover it?

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 03/03/2009 21:17

Ceebee That sounds about right, maybe 1.5 hours, shopping is hard work!!!

Dozy Bless you, thats what we are here for! I fully expect the same treatment when I feel low

Right, down to serious matters - I'm calling you all in for this, when you say your prayers tonight can you add a little one for me to get that stone off tomorrow please ladies....

Ceebee74 · 04/03/2009 08:39

Jodie any news???

Just been for a trek in the snow to drop DS1 off at nursery!

Dozymare · 04/03/2009 08:45

Snow??! Am was only thinking at bedtime how pretty everything looked when it snowed! i am housebound today - DS2 got a temperature and a face on him.... gutted as was going for a run this morning as he is normally at nursery and tiger was going to my mum's. Can't ask her to look after DS2 when he is poorly? May do DVD instead if I can get them both to snooze at the same time!

Jodie well done on your stone (I am obviously pre-empting as I just KNOW you did it!)

AAARRGGGHHHHH

Just 0.5lbs for me this week, so still 2lbs off the stone.... WTF went wrong? I stayed in my calories, I ran 3 times and did BC once, How can I speed up my metabloism?????? I'm not thinking of giving up yet as it's still going OK and I feel better in myself, I feel and look like I'm losing weight, but why aren't the scales being nice????

I might measure myself today, a week early, just to make myself feel better.

Ceebee74 · 04/03/2009 11:41

jodie for you. I don't have an explanation as my weight seems to do exactly the same - tis very frustrating!! It would be much more encouraging if the weight loss was steady (it would for me) - anyway, positive thought is that when I have hardly lost any one week, have lost lots the week after Measuring yourself sounds good as I bet you can really tell the difference and cheer yourself up!

mileniwmffalcon · 05/03/2009 09:39

1lb on again feeling pretty crappy today tbh, i could have done without that. was all set to ignore gain and be super good, was expecting a graze box to give me a good start to the week and now i find because i changed the day it's not coming till next week. pants

Dozymare · 05/03/2009 14:01

oh millifalcon you sound like me, a good week followed by a bad week...didn't you lose 3 last week as well? if it is any consolation, after losing 3lbs last week I have had a diabolical week this week. Am trying to make up for it yesterday and today but not holding any hope for losing.

jodie bet you find next week you lose a fair few lbs.........better off than on though....that should be our mantra eh!

OP posts:
JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 05/03/2009 14:43

Hi, mill sorry to hear you've had a bad week, don't give up though, pt it down to experience....

Do yo know what (if anything) went wrong?

dozy and ceebee I;m really hoping this week will be the week, I did weigh myself this morning (naughty I know) and anoter 1lb has come off, as if by magic! But I'll bank that for next week, rather than change my results for this week.

Ceebee74 · 05/03/2009 15:13

mill how frustrating for you although we all seem to be in the same boat - I really wish this weight loss business was simpler!!

jodie did you measure yourself yesterday?

Just been out for lunch to an Italian restaurant - had a ham and mushroom pizza and it was delicious Probably not the healthiest thing I could have had but it was a proper thin crust pizza with not much cheese on. Just going to have to have a really small tea now!

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 05/03/2009 15:22

No I didn't, couldn't face too many disappointments in one day!

LadyBuzz · 05/03/2009 22:15

I'm the same ladies, Had a good loss last week and can't stop eating this week.
Thanks for the suggestions for cooking for one, I went shopping yesterday and froze everything in small batches. Hopefully it will work

Heres hoping for a better week all round next week for us.

I need to start writing things down again I just can't do it if I don't!

Which bits do you measure - I never even considered that.

Ceebee74 · 06/03/2009 08:37

Ladybuzz sorry you stayed the same but this week is a new week and all that

I don't measure - just not got round to it. I try and go on how my clothes feel and the holes on my belt! Unfortunately my stomach seems determined to remain wobbly and large - everywhere else seems to be shrinking a little apart from my awful jelly belly!! And I know there is no point in doing lots and lots of crunches etc as there is too much fat still in the way - very disheartening!!

mileniwmffalcon · 06/03/2009 09:21

thanks everyone for being lovely yesterday, i'm not quite as grumpy today. i'm pinning my hopes on being premenstrual - being in tears over postal fruit would suggest it! - although i can't quite remember when i'm due on

nothing should have gone wrong, i was something like 100 over for the week after swearing to eat all my cals. i've had a cold but otherwise business as usual. i've dropped down to 1.5lb loss this week, which is real deprivation e.g. none spare for alcohol even on the weekend, in the hope of kickstarting something. funny i don't remember all this up-and-down stuff last time, but it's good to know i'm not the only one.

Dozymare · 06/03/2009 10:01

Morning all....

Buzz we are all following a website called weight loss resources....it is subscription but is very good indeed.

ceebee I am like you, losing weight everywhere apart from my jelly belly. (although at last measure I had lost 5inches from it, trouble is, still look 6 months PG)

This week I am -1lb...taking my total loss to 1stone and 2lbs. Frankly, I have ahd to eat barely anything and excercise loads as had a dreadful weekend. am going to try and do better this weekend, although a night out with the girls tonight won't help.

Seems we are all what I would call yo-yo dieters....good wsek followed by bad.....anyone know hwy we do it?

OP posts:
mileniwmffalcon · 06/03/2009 10:32

i haven't even been bad stuck close enough as make no odds to my cals. but i do make an extra resolution to be "good" after a gain. i'd rather deprive myself more than go on a feck-it bender cos i know how hard i'd find to to get back on the wagon after that.

i'm dreaming about when i'm fit enough to run for an hour non stop. 600 glorious calories [misty eyed] how's your running going jodie?

mileniwmffalcon · 06/03/2009 10:32

btw forgot to say congrats for this week dozy, good steady progress

Hey all, back from whirlwind trip and in need of detox will read thread and catch up properly later just wanted to get on my convo list.

Ceebee74 · 06/03/2009 19:52

Five welcome back

Dozy well done on losing considering you had a bad week!

Positive vibes for me tomorrow please Have been really good and once I have finished tonight will be about 20 cals over (I could be 150 under but a Creme Egg is beckoning me ) but not very optimistic at all considering my 3lbs loss last week.
