Hi Gracie

My sw group is a daytime one and we have 4 mums all from the same antenatal group attending. Their babies are all around 10 months and they have a wahle of a time. Generally the older ladies in the group all bustle around trying to me 'granny' and look after them while the mums get weighed in. There are generally a couple of mums with toddlers as well.
I suspect that the daytime groups are more accomodating than the evening ones as it's generally us mums and the grannies going to those meetings, rather than the 9 to 5 bods for the evening groups.

You sound just like me. I lost 2 1/2 stone from autumn 2007. Kept it off and then lost the plot from Xmas and put 10lb back on. Only on my 2nd week of going back but it's all just slotted into place again. It's surprisingly easy to get back on the sw wagon iykwim.

nikkid21 · 07/03/2009 19:50

ps - I put on 5 1/2 stone when expecting ds1. Took the eating for two rather seriously and ended up at 16 1/2 stone - looked like a pregnant rugby player!

LittleMissFickle · 08/03/2009 06:35

Hi all
had a good day yesterday didnt cheat at all, made a veggie quiche with cottage cheese in that was nice.
Day 4 put 2 1/2 pounds on

never mined tomorrow is another day.
Which works best red or green days ?????

Gracie14 · 08/03/2009 16:54

nikki - Thanks for your reply, I joined an evening group in Dec and I think that contributed to my lack of motivation having to find a babysitter and because I am breastfeeding I couldn't leave him for long hadn't realised you could take them with you.

I've found a monday morning group which I can walk to as well (can only help I hope.) Really hope I can get my head round it again as well, I have managed to keep off the sstone I lost at christmas but I know if I don't go back I will be gaining it and some back on.

Yep your pregnancy sounds like mine - I just ate what I wanted - and that was A LOT!!!

Missfickle - I found that green days worked best for me as I can fill up on the pasta, beans, chips, etc. Are you weighing yourself every day? I have tried that before and could never stick to it as felt very deflated whenever I saw my weight go up (and it can do from day to day)

LittleMissFickle · 08/03/2009 19:06

Nikki- yes i am still weighing myself every day.Today the diet has gone right out of the window, but will start again tomorrow.Im getting my husband to stop drinking stella so its not too much of a temptation for me.should be ok this week till saturday but then im going out to a party.maybe if i say i will drive then i carnt drink.

hunnybun1981 · 09/03/2009 08:28

littlemissfickle - for you - 1 1/2 pounds is good please don't be disappointed

Only One Pound

Hello, do you know me? If you don't you should. I'm a pound of fat, and I'm the happiest pound of fat that you would ever want to meet. Want to know why? It's because no one ever wants to lose me; I'm Only One Pound, just a pound. Everyone wants to lose three pounds, five pounds or fifteen pounds, but never only one, so I just stick around and happily keep you fat. Then I add to myself ever so slyly so that you never seem to notice it, that is until I've grown to ten, twenty or even more pounds in weight. Yes, it's fun being Only One Pound of fat, left to do as I please. So, when you weigh in, keep right on saying "Oh, I only lost one pound." ( as if that were such a terrible thing!) For you see, if you do this you'll encourage others to keep me around because they will think I'm not worth losing. And I love being around you - your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips and every part of you. Happy Days!! After all, I'm Only One Pound of fat!!!

ProfYaffle · 11/03/2009 09:20

LMF - I 'only' lost 1lb in my first week, lost 3lbs the next week! Keep on keeping on.

I've just had a lovely breakfast of bacon, egg and grilled mushrooms on toast. Yummy. Cheeseburgers for tea. dh keeps asking if I'm sure I'm dieting.

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 11/03/2009 09:30

Hello ladies

Does anyone have this week's password???

LittleMissFickle · 11/03/2009 09:46

Thanks all for trying to cheer me up,i will keep at it.ive just had a great big quorn burger with a few spoons of tonight chilli,to make a chilli burger,it was very nice but it did look silly in the tiny little bun.quiche for dinner. For my exercise today i am going to move a ton bag of gravel 30m from front garden to the back.o what fun we have

andyrobo237 · 11/03/2009 13:15

Hello - can I sign in here as well?!! I have spotted there are two SW threads and I am popping in here as well to maximise my SW effect! Hope no one minds!

I have been here before, on previous SW threads, and found the motivation great! I started back at class last week and signed up to the 12 week countdown - an investment in myself!!

Well I liked that 'only one pound' ditty as I have been guilty of that! But right now even half a pound would be good!

I attended class ages ago, but the times did not suit, and I managed after christmas to get my local consultant to have a 4.30pm class on a wednesday - she took over the group from another consultant, and grew the class in a small venue, so she now has 70 members over two sessions! Happy days - so now I can get to a class (with two kids in tow!) for a weigh-in but no talk to listen to. But at least it is better than nothing!! It does help that she is a mum at school and I have regular private consultations at the school gate - and just seeing her reminds me to be good!!

Well, will report back later with my outstanding first weeks loss ..... dont hold your breath though!

lechuga · 11/03/2009 16:57

hi,
you know the way if you have a shop bought chicken/ham etc sandwich and are on a green day you can deduct 6 syns for the meat as a HE is it the same with cheese? Weight watchers macaroni cheese is on offer in Tesco and it's syn value is 4-so could I have one of them and use it as my HE A?? Hope this makes sense!

LittleMissFickle · 11/03/2009 17:08

The kids have just eaten the quorn chilli but the vote was dont make it again,it needs meat.it seems to lack the chew factor of meat and flavour.now im going to go up and have a bath to recover from moving a ton bag of gravel.Red day tomorrow as the kids think there turning veggie.

jenk1 · 11/03/2009 19:27

WI tonight lost another pound so thats 5 pounds in 4 weeks, not bad really cos it was star week last week and i pigged out on chocolate

this weeks password is WALKING.

andyrobo237 · 11/03/2009 20:52

Lechuga - I dont think you can, as if you calculated the recipe, all the syns would be in the sauce - the flour, cheese and milk. I can see your logic, as milk and cheese are healthy extras, but really 4 syns is good for a ready meal!

I lost 1lb this week - a good start for me! Would like 1.5 next week to get me in the stone below bracket!!

nikkid21 · 12/03/2009 13:01

Well done on the losses jenk & andyrob.

Just got weighed and I put on 1lb. Not sure where it's come from to be honest. The only change was that instead of red & green I did a couple of extra easy days last week.
Obviously doesn't work for me so I'm back to alternating red green.

ScrummyYummyMummy · 12/03/2009 15:56

I have lost 12lb in total now, but deperate to get to the stone mark. Keep going to mum and baby groups with choccie biccies. Anyone got any tips for mental strength when refusing these? I seem to eat them and then pretend I haven't!

lechuga · 12/03/2009 19:18

thanks andyrobo. yeah I know 4 syns is good for a ready meal-I just prefered the idea of minus 2 syns if I deducted 6 for HEs!
well done on your weight loss. I seem to have hit a plateau

ProfYaffle · 13/03/2009 13:25

I lost another pound this week which is good considering I stayed at pil last weekend and had a whole weekend off plan (including several pints of cider on Saturday!)

I've done 2 training sessions for Race for Life this week so am feeling very virtuous.

soon2befamilyof4 · 13/03/2009 16:54

There was me wondering why there were no new posts in the SW thread! Teaches me not to reply on threads i'm on so much!

I want to make spaggetti bolagnaise tonight. Not made it since doing SW. Is there a particular SW reciepe? I liked the cottage pie and meatballs ones so though a SW spag bol might be nice? I have got the extra lean mince and most veges etc in. Only went shoppping yesterday.

Have been naughty this morning for the first time (Had a 6inch sub at subway - BMT! Anybody know how many points this would be? I know it will probably be loads. I had it with wholemeal bread and lots of salad? We were out and I was starving and as I am pregnant I needed to eat something so don't feel THAT bad about it. Will just make sure I am good from now on!

kid · 13/03/2009 17:36

I'm back on SW since Monday. I couldn't focus on it properly but since Monday I have been as good as gold. Well that might not be entirely true but I have managed to stay under the 15 syns.

I am doing the EE version again, lost 4lb on it when I followed it for 1 week before, but I gave up after that! Will see what the scales reveal on Monday. Hopefully its a good loss so I can stick to it again next week. I have to do a week at a time and a little loss to achieve too otherwise I just cave in and give up.

ProfYaffle · 13/03/2009 17:41

Soon2be - this is what my SW fridge magnet says!

"Pile heaps of meaty bolognese sauce (extra leave minced beef, chopped tomatoes, onions, garlic, mixed peppers and mushrooms) onto al dente spaghetti.

On green days enjoy 85G extra lean mince as a healthy extra b choice.

On original days tuck into 100g wholemeal (boiled weight) spaghetti as a healthy extra."

soon2befamilyof4 · 13/03/2009 19:10

Have actually found the recipe for spag bol on the SW website. It says it is half a syn on EE - do you know why? I thought it was free? Can't see anything on it that would be syn?

Hubby wanted a free up so having that tonight now but will do spag bol tomorrow, which works out well anyway as he is at work and I can do the spag bol in the slow cooker probably, if DD lets me get anything done in the morning that is!

I have a whole chicken as well as chicken fillets in my fridge. Do you guys have any interesting things to do with them? Usually have chicken with LOADS of gravy but can't really do that on SW? Are there any tasty syn free meals that I can make? Preferably freezable?
