Hi Connie, nice to see you back (in the nicest possible way!) Did you have a green day in the end? I'm the same size as you by the sounds of it, my size 16 jeans are starting to get a bit baggy on the bum but I don't think I'm quite a 14 yet.

Thanks for all the congrats re Race for Life. I really enjoyed it and actually went way faster than I thought I could so that's been a huge confidence boost.

Virgo - I agree with Connie, I always give myself the option of something to nibble on in the evening. Sometimes I don't need it, sometimes I do. My usual options are, a HE of Ryvita with a HE of laughing cow or free cottage cheese. Occasionally I have sliced meat and salad (on red obviously) more often I save my syns for wine or a proper chocolate bar like a Wispa or a Flake Praline.

Although I'm moaning about slow weight loss so you may not want to listen to me!

MamaG · 05/05/2009 17:07

Hi all just marking my place on teh thread. I stopped doing SW when I got pg with BabyG - he's now 6 months old and although I'm still BF I can't keep being fat

I'm 1 stone 1lb lighter than wehn I first started SW in September 2007(yay) but 1 stone 2lb heavier than whenI finished in February 2008! (boo)

Just trying to get my head around it all again - have meal planned for the coming week so fingers crossed!

Does anybody know how many extra HEs you have when you are BF? I don't want to go back to the group as the consultant is shite TBH so want to do it alone at home

Hi all

Yes, Prof, I did have a green day in the end! I used a few syns for about 8 maltesers to have with a cup of tea!

Back at work today..

B'fast: A banana and an orange

Was in court all morning so had a v.late lunch at about 2.45 of cuppa soup (about 2.5 syns, I really fancied something warm after starving for so long!) 2 apples and a bunch of grapes

Dinner: 2 slices of nimble (HEb) with 3 slices of bacon & an egg, with a cup of tea, followed by an apple.

Original day? (you'd think that by now i'd be doing it long enough to know!!)

Have also did an hour spin class.

MAMAG I remember you

Lily, well done!! Doesn't it feel good to be able to eat out & still lose weight???

ConnieComplaint · 05/05/2009 21:16

Try Garlic & see if it stil, works. I think it works for me!

ProfYaffle · 05/05/2009 21:24

omg - I couldn't survive on so little food Connie! I would've been fainting with hunger by 10am - this is probably why I'm losing weight so slowly

Hello MammaG - don't know re bf HE I'm afraid. Don't know the password either fuzzy. [useless emoticon]

ProfYaffle · 05/05/2009 21:27

MamaG - just found this on a Slimming World support board I use. Link for the board here if anyone else is interested.

Extra Daily Allowances for breast-feeding mums

You can enjoy additional Healthy Extras on top of your usual 2a and 2b choices.

SW recommend that one or preferably two of these additional choices are made from the milk and cheese section.

Baby's age - Up to 2 months = 3

Baby's age - 2-3 months = 4

Baby's age - 4-6 months if starting to wean = 3

Baby's age - 4-6 months if breast milk is the only source of nutrient for your baby = 4

Baby's age - Over 6 months when weaning = 1

ConnieComplaint · 05/05/2009 21:40

That;s not a normal day for me though, as I usually have far more for lunch & dinner. I usually have a better breakfast too, but I slept in this morning...and make-up comes before breakfast when I have to see people!!

If I had just been in the office it would've been porridge and feck the make-up!!

Anyway, you said we were probably at the same stage weight wise... I'm going to put my weight/height/goal weight down just to see, though you're probably taller than me (nearly everyone is)

Starting date:January 14:

11st 11.5lb
11st 9lb (lost 2.5lb)
11st 7lb (lost 2lb)
11st 5.5lb (lost 1.5lb)
11st 7.5lb (gained 2lb)
11st 5.5lb (got that 2lb off again!)
11st 8lb (gained 2.5lb)
11st 5lb (lost 3)
11st 4lb (lost 1lb)
11st 3lb (lost 1lb)
11st 2.5 (lost 0.5)
11st 4.5 (gained 2lb again!!)
11st 2.5 (lost 2)
11st 1lb (lost 1.5lb)
11st (lost 1lb)

From writing that down I'm actually shocked that I've just gained 3 times...it actually feels like a lot more times.....I hope against hope I have at least 0.5lb off tomorrow night so I am under the 11stone mark!!

I am 4ft 11 - ideal weight is something stupid like 7.5 stone, but they can shit up a stick if they think I'll ever be that weight!! If I got to 9stone I would re-evaluate & see what I look like!!

I already got to 7stone 4lb just after we got married & looking at photos now I looked really ill, huge collar bone sticking out..even my sisters' tell me I looked weird..pity they didn't tell me at the time!!

ConnieComplaint · 05/05/2009 21:46

Thanks for the link Prof! Have just joined...look for a scary biscuit...you'll know it's me!

ProfYaffle · 05/05/2009 21:48

I was 12st 7lb when I started 9 weeks ago, last weighed myself on Friday just gone and I was 11st 9lbs. I'm about 5' 3 or 4". My goal is to get down to 10st, at that weight I'm a size 12/14 and feel happy. I'll never be thinner than that as I like eating too much! I've been steadily losing 1-2lbs per week, except when I was on holiday when I gained 2lbs but lost that again the following week.

I was moaning to dh at the weekend about only losing 1lb and he was saying it doesn't really matter if it does take ages so long as the weight comes off eventually which is true I suppose.

ProfYaffle · 05/05/2009 21:48

I'm not hard to find, as you'll see!

SparkyPup · 05/05/2009 23:41

Thanks again ProfYaffle - just watched "Fix My Fat Head" and, while it didn't really have a "Eureka" moment, it was a really interesting programme and there was lots for most people in a similar situation to relate to. My only complaint (if you could call it a complaint, really), was that she was sooo bright, honest, witty and engaging - and just so damned likeable - that you didn't want her to change at all - even in weight terms. She was just great as she was .... and I'm sure that wasn't the reaction she was trying to inspire! Oh well, bedtime. At least that will stop me eating for a few hours ...

LumpyChump · 06/05/2009 06:31

Morning all

Hope everyone is doing OK?

Woke up this morning feeling like I've lost weight . So much nicer than getting up and feeling like a blob!!

That SW forum seems interesting. I'll have a proper look and register later.

ProfYaffle · 06/05/2009 06:39

I watched it too - made me hungry! All that talk of pasties and lasagne mmmmmmm. I was really surprised that she ate such a limited range of food, she's 36 and tasting fish for the first time

It shows that there's no easy, quick fix when it comes to weight loss and it shows how hard it is to nail down a cause.

ProfYaffle · 06/05/2009 06:41

Glad the sw support forum is looking useful, someone linked to it from the other SW thread on here (which seems to have died a death I think) It's ticker city, but I do find it useful.

MamaG · 06/05/2009 09:57

Thanks for BF HE advice ProYaffle, he's 6 months and has just started to wean so thats 1 extra HE from cheese/milk (gah at only 1 )

LackaDAISYcal · 06/05/2009 10:33

knocks on the door and says hello

I joined Slimming World last night and wanted to get a bit of extra motivation so wondered if I might join you?

I also have a question on BFing and SW. The consultant last night wasn't the regular consultant for the group I've joined and she couldn't find any of the leaflets about BFing, but said I was allowed additional healthy extras. Can anyone give me a quick resume of what is allowed for the green/original and the extra easy plans. Ta muchly

Oh, and I am 12st4, 5'2" and my ideal should be somewhere in the range of 7st11 to 9st9 ish. I'm aiming for 9stone, but am worried this might be a little too optimistic to get to and then maintain as I haven't been that weight since pre-DS1 seven and a half years ago.

LackaDAISYcal · 06/05/2009 10:39

oops, just read the BFing stuff posted further down

DS is 6months and although we have started to wean, he is only having one small meal a day, so still mostly BF...can I squeeze in an extra choice?

MamaG · 06/05/2009 10:41
LackaDAISYcal · 06/05/2009 10:43

....but only because I don't have the energy......the little rotter cherub was awake for 30mins out of every hour last night from about midnight either feeding or laughing or whinging. I am on my knees today!

how is your lovely big boy doing?

MamaG · 06/05/2009 10:49

Great thanks - he's sitting in his highchair laughing at me at the moment! still not sleeping through, gah

LackaDAISYcal · 06/05/2009 10:52

My older two were sleeping through from eight weeks ish.....one FF, one BF so this is a real culture shock to me. This too shall pass, this too shall pass, this too shall pass.....

It's a fantastic age though isn't it? They are just so interested in everything!

ConnieComplaint · 06/05/2009 13:06

I watched that programme last night too, I really liked her, she was so beautiful!! Even when she had no make-up on she was beautiful!

I couldn't believe how limited her food range was either, though to be fair, the things she did like and eat most of, was high fat/calorie foods..like yorkshire puddings & pizza, same as the rest of us I suppose, or we wouldn't be on here battling to lose weight!!!!

I have WI tonight, even 0.5lb would be good....
