Just looked at my papers. Its actually called Fast Forward, not fast track. Sorry, I'm not getting any chocolate see.

slowreadingprogress · 01/04/2009 19:14

hellooo

I did my first weigh in - lost 4 pounds!

am very, very happy with that, as I am being treated for underactive thyroid and have found it so difficult before to even shift half a pound

I couldn't believe I'd lost 4 pounds as I didn't feel I 'suffered' enough IYKWIM - didn't feel hungry!

jenk1 · 01/04/2009 21:16

another 3 pound off for me tonight

this weeks password is CARROT

andirobo · 01/04/2009 21:39

I have a copy of the Fast Forward plan if anyone is interested - it is scanned in and in pdf format! If anyone CAT's me I will send it to them!

I lost a big half a pound this week - boy was it hard to lose that - been trying for three weeks!!

Getting there, sloooowwwwllllyyyy!!

applepudding · 01/04/2009 22:05

Regarding the syns and calories - I think that if the food you are counting for a syn contains proper food like meat or veg or pasta then the syn value is based on which programme you are following e.g. if its a ready pasta meal it will be low on syns on a green day or high on syns on a red day. But if it is a treat food like choc or crips or wine then I agree it works out at about 20 cals a syn - if I cant be bothered to look something out I 'guess' on a pack of diet crips or a small choc or biscuit bar or glass of wine/lager are all generally about 5 or 6 syns.

I second andirobo with getting there sloowwly!!

Deemented · 01/04/2009 22:15

Hi folks. I weigh in again tomorrow. Not been a bad week... but more of a 'meh' one, yunno? I'm hoping i've lost, i've been good, but i think i may be premenstral as i can't seem to shake off the bad mood i've been in since yesterday

Hope everyones ok and has a good week.

nikkid21 · 02/04/2009 14:25

Maintained again for the second week running. Am seriously wondering if I have reached my natural weight. My bmi is still at 25.2 which is slightly overweight but I'm in size 12 clothes and happy with that.

Don't know quite what to do as am still 5 pounds over the target that I hit last year. Unless I can shift another 2 I have to keep paying as am not in target range.

ProfYaffle · 03/04/2009 09:38

nikkid - I've maintained for the 2nd week running too, except in my case I've still got 2 stone to shift and still in a size 16

The first week I had a flexible syn day which could account for it and this week is a star week which doesn't help but still, 2 weeks?? I'm sticking to the plan, averaging 10 syns per day (sometimes a bit more, sometimes a bit less) and jogging 3 times per week. I'm also doing success express 2 days per week.

All I can think of is that I'm plain old eating too much. I tend to have 3 meals per day which are quite large but don't snack between meals at all. Think I'm going to have to cut down on portion sizes, maybe increase SE to 3 times per week.

It's all very discouraging.

AuntieMaggie · 03/04/2009 15:53

Hello

Ok, I finally managed to get my bum in gear and re-joined slimming world last week. I had my weigh in last night and despite a night out on the weekend I had lost..... 6 and a half pounds!

I am so pleased and very motivated now to lose the rest of the 20 or so stone I have to lose (not really but that's how it feels!)

Now I'm off to read the rest of this thread.

One thing though - what veg can you not eat on an extra easy day cos I think I got a bit mixed up.

Ewe · 03/04/2009 19:49

Right ladies I am joining SW tomorrow and I am relying on you skinny lot to be my gurus and help keep me motivated.

I want to lose about 4 stone Hope it doesn't take forever!

applepudding · 03/04/2009 22:48

hello

Nikkid - I think if you talk with your consultant you can reset your target to one you are more comfortable with if you wish

Auntmaggie - hi - well done on your weight loss. You can eat any veg on extra easy but weight loss is quicker of you eat those which are speed foods

I've not had a good day today, there was food left over from a buffet a work, quiche, pizza etc and it seemed a shame to waste it .... but I noticed as I drove back from work that I felt really yucky compared to when I've eaten my normal baked potatoes/beans/yogurt/fruit etc so back to the diet tomorrow

ProfYaffle · 04/04/2009 09:16

Weighed myself again today (obsessive? Moi? Surely not) and I'm 4lbs lighter than yesterday - weird. Think I'll put some ears on to celebrate.

Ewe · 04/04/2009 11:06

Just went for first weigh in and am about 2 stone heavier than I thought I was. Eurgh.

GossipMonger · 04/04/2009 11:28

After seeing a friend lose 2 stone and ds's teacher lose a stone on SW I am determined to do the same.

Not done SW before so could you give me some pointers please.

What do you eat for breakfast and how do you count it?

How do you count bread?

TIA

AuntieMaggie · 04/04/2009 14:21

Are the passwords the same for every group then?

I made a note of what I though was the password this week but must have been an old one cos it didn't work!

ProfYaffle · 04/04/2009 16:22

I think it's carrot this week, that's the last one I saw on another thread anyway. Someone usually posts it on here somewhere. My 4 week 'at home' memberhsip has expired so I don't get given them anymore.

AuntieMaggie · 04/04/2009 17:50

Ok, I'm off to hunt through these threads for ideas and recipes.

If anyone has any ideas what I can do with 2 portions of pork chops and chicken breasts or salmon this week let me know.

So far have planned gammon egg and chips one night and the veg biryani recipe that was in one of the recent mags. I already tried the thai veg curry one last week and it was lovely.

Probem I have is I'm also on a budget for food as I've overspent this month already and have 2 weeks til i get paid! Silly me.

spideygirl · 04/04/2009 20:33

hi i joined sw last week and lost 2 pounds first week which is not alot but it will do for the first week smile

ProfYaffle · 05/04/2009 16:51

AuntieMaggie, I've got pork steaks to use up too and found this recipe. I reckon it's about 3 syns for the whole thing on a red day. I might do spiced red cabbage with it.

ProfYaffle · 05/04/2009 17:03

Forgot to say, I'll obviously use Frylight not oil for this.

applepudding · 05/04/2009 21:49

Gossipmonger - have you got the SW info from your group? That should explain all about the free foods and healthy extras. For breakfast I normally have fruit and yogurt (free) but you can have cereal (see in the SW book for which ones) as a HEB or two slices toast from a small loaf as a HEB. If you have cereal you also need to count your milk as HEA. You can also have various cooked breakfasts as 'free' food depending on which plan you are doing.

Now, somebody motivate me please! I'm good at planning out the main meals I cook at home but I keep eating things I shouldn't when I'm away from home. I've now put two pounds back on . I've got two weeks at home with DS for the Easter hol and really really need to get motivated again before I start pigging on the Easter Eggs next weekend. I'm thinking I need to up my exercise, I need to do something!

applepudding · 05/04/2009 21:52

There's a recipe in the new SW mag for pork steaks with butternut squash mash with spring onions.

ProfYaffle · 06/04/2009 06:58

Apple - eating away from home is the hardest part of sw imho, it's much easier on WW! What circumstances do you mean? Are you at work, meeting friends, can you plan when you're going to be out?

I'm going out for lunch today so I'm having a green day and will be having jacket spud with beans and cheese (on the side) again.

AuntieMaggie · 06/04/2009 12:08

Ooohhh that looks yummy profyaffle - thank you!

Tonight I'm having ASDA Extra Special Spanish Style Roasted Pepper & Smoked Paprika Cooking Sauce with chicken and potatoes (EE day). I calculated the syns for about 8 and a half per jar so not too bad if you don't use syns for anything else.

I also bought a moroccan tagine one but it was about 17 syns for the jar.

hectich1979 · 06/04/2009 13:33

Hi all sorry not been on for a bit but have been reading your updates which have been great. I'm on my third week, this weeks WI is tomw I've lost 8lb in the last two weeks 6lb first week 2lb last week I'm focussing on only losing 2lb a week a steady loss which will mean that by my 30th birthday in August I will have lost 3.5 stone. I've been enjoying the weather playing outside with the kids on the trampoline and doing the gardening, also with lighter nights we can do walking more. I've made quite a few syn free quiches (3 eggs, tub cottage cheese and any free food you want I've been having bacon, mushroom and tomato with mixed herbs then oven bake) to snack on and had salads and sandwiches on nimble white bread. Today I had yogurt and fruit for breakfast, morrissons free sausage sandwich on white nimble bread for dinner, fruit salad, and for tea we are having gammon, fresh pineapple, new potatoes and salad fresh melon xxxx
