And how many HEs on red/green?

ProfYaffle · 18/03/2009 09:37

1 or 2 hea and 2 heb.

soon2befamilyof4 · 18/03/2009 11:14

Sorry still confused - which one has 2 HEA? Would find that useful.

So from what your saying, on a green day, you get 2 HEa AND 2 HEb? That does sound good to be able to say have cereal and milk for breakfast and still have something bready for lunch and still be allowed cheese!

But I get extra HEs anyway for being pregnant/breastfeeding - do you know how this works for Green/Red?

ProfYaffle · 18/03/2009 11:42

Red and green days have 2 HE a and 2 HEB, EE has one A and one B. I don't think it makes that much difference really. I appreciate having 2 HE B on a red day but if I'm on a green day I find I don't really need them and if you're on EE you can have rice/pasta etc so 1 heb for some bread would be enough I think.

I don't know how the pregnancy side works, they have a specific booklet for that which I don't have.

soon2befamilyof4 · 18/03/2009 12:11

I know I am allowed an extra HEa while being pregnant or breastfeeding which is great but I am trying not to rely on it too much incase breastfeeding doesn't work out and I will have to cut back!

Ceolas · 18/03/2009 12:40

Can I ask another question...

I've looked at the SW classes near me and there doesn't seem to be anything that will fit round my/DH's work and the kids' social lives atm

If I were going to buy SW books from ebay, which ones would I need?

nikkid21 · 18/03/2009 13:11

The SW books on ebay are pretty expensive. I would hve a look online for a half price joining coupon.

That way you join for £5 and pay your £4.50 class fee. Pick up the books and have the intro talk from the consultant for £9.50 total - then never go back

Lots of people must do it because you see so many people who join and then never come to another meeting.

Ceolas · 18/03/2009 13:14

Good idea nikkid. Do I have to wait through the whole class first time? I could go this evening but couldn't stay to the end. If I go during the day I'd have to take DD3 (18 months). Is that allowed?

Also am pregnant (to confuse things even further).

nikkid21 · 18/03/2009 14:54

In my class you would have to wait the first time as she gives the intro talk whilst the rest of the group get weighed but then weighs and takes the money from the newbies at the end.

I go to a daytime group and children are welcome there with no problems.

When you go to sign up and get the books ask for the extra booklet advising on pregnancy and breastfeeding. I think that you just get an extra heA (milk / cheese) choice each day.

jenk1 · 18/03/2009 19:10

WI tonight but i put a pound on was very very

at that, she said what have i done different and i havent been having syns everyday, apparantly you dont lose more weight if you dont have your syns???

dont really understand that one but this week im going to throw a couple of red/green days in,i really like EE but im not getting the weight losses like other members are.

feel a bit gutted but never mind, new week tomoz.

this weeks password is BURGER.

ConnieComplaint · 18/03/2009 21:33

Had 1lb off this week.

That makes it 8.5lb from the middle of January... slowly!!

Afterwards I was talking to a lady who follows the Rosemary Connolly group & she's lost 1 and half stone in 5 weeks!!

It's all calorie controlled though & i'd far prefer the red & green days...seems easier!!

ProfYaffle · 19/03/2009 08:09

That's interesting jenk1, I was going through my food diary for the last 4 weeks and the week I lost the most (3lbs) I had the most syns. Strange.

Have to admit I'm finding the slow weight loss a bit demoralising but keep reminding myself that I've lost weight more quickly in the past but not been able to keep it off.

Deemented · 19/03/2009 08:21

Hi folks

Is it ok for me to join you here? I started SW last week and i weigh in later today. Am a bit nervous, but i think i've done ok. Am doing the EE plan.

Ceolas · 19/03/2009 09:21

Well I joined last night. Trying Extra Easy and just had weetabix and banana for breakfast. Bit nervous that I've used both healthy extras in the first meal!

Think I'll have baked potato and beans for lunch but not thought much about dinner yet.

nikkid21 · 19/03/2009 14:58

Hi everyone

Weighed in today and lost 1 1/2lb. Nearly fell off the scales in surprise as am due on in the next couple of days and have been mainlining carbs all week.

Am now only 5 1/2lb over the target weight that I reached last April. So if I can lose 2lb this week I won't have to pay for group anymore.

Does anyone know the syns for a pint of cider off hand. I'm getting that summer feeling.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

applepudding · 20/03/2009 23:29

Expect you've had your cider by now, but I think cider and lager are both 5 syns half pint.

I haven't lost any more this week - also due on. Think I will wait until after to weigh myself again so I don't get discouraged.

Ceolas · 20/03/2009 23:54

Well done nikki

So far so good here. 2 days down! Just trying to figure out what to eat tomorrow. I'm at work from 8am til 2pm with one break around 11 probably.

Think I'll have some yogurt and fruit before I go and take weetabix with me for break. Then have lunch when I get back. Hopefully I won't be too starving!

ProfYaffle · 22/03/2009 11:11

Weighed myself today, have now lost half a stone in the last 4 weeks

btw, Muller Light are on offer in Morrisons, buy 4 get 4 free til the end of March.

ProfYaffle · 22/03/2009 16:36

Well I've had a lovely Mother's Day. We had the sw 3 course meal, waldorf stuffed pear, chicken with sweet roasted veg and choc pudding. Choc puddings were just 'ok' but the rest was lovely.

nikkid21 · 22/03/2009 18:49

well done prof yaffle - half a stone is fab

Dh is on nights so it's just me for dinner tonight. Am having roasted red onions, carrots and butternut swuash with some tomato couscous. Have saved my syns all day so that I can have a glass of wine and a tablespoon of nutella (put it in the freezer and it lasts longer) once the kids are in bed.

b0bbins · 22/03/2009 19:40

Hi everyone, i'd love to join your group. I'm having a go at SW on my own at home. I'm getting married in August and would love to lose some weight by then, although I just collected my dress yesterday and it fits perfectly around my body, just need the length taking up, so I don't really want to lose masses - although I could always look for another dress if I do really well (but i'd rather not - the whole day is costing too much already!) Let's all have a good week and look forward to there being less of us this time next week. x

ProfYaffle · 22/03/2009 19:53

Thanks Nikkid.

Bobbins, I'm doing it at home too.

applepudding · 22/03/2009 21:44

I'm also doing it at home.

ProfYaffle - where did you get the SW 3 course meal from? is it a recipe on the website?

ProfYaffle · 22/03/2009 21:46

Yes, it's on the website, featured recipe atm but the individual recipes are also listed in the recipe archive.

Ceolas · 23/03/2009 10:31

Does anyone eat Quorn sausages? I made some for my breakfast and sprayed them with fry light before grilling. They looked a bit weird and I'm not convinced I liked the taste
