Hi girls!!

Right.... the rules:

1 No big goals.
2 No failing.
3 No guilt trips.

Our goals need to be realistic. It freaks me out to think I need to lose 10 stone. That's 140 pounds - it's a WHOLE PERSON!!!!

Therefore I propose that we make ourselves realistic goals. Ignore the final hurdle; the first hurdle is my first half a stone.

7 lbs.

No failing: if you put on any weight, then IT IS ALRIGHT. It will come off again.

We will try our best to keep our weight going down, but if it has a blip, then it has a blip - no big deal, ok?

I am sick and tired of putting myself on and feeling guilt tripped by people because I put a pound or two on this week.

NEWSBREAK: it doesn't matter in the big picture!

Focus on the positives.

We will encourage each other as we muddle along together, agreed?

Here is our inspiration to keep going:

Only One Pound

Hello! Do you know me? If you don't, you should. I'm a pound of fat. And I am the happiest pound of fat that you would ever want to meet.

Want to know why? It's because no one ever wants to lose me; I'm ONLY ONE POUND, just a pound!

Everyone wants to lose three pounds, five pounds, or fifteen pounds, but never only one.

So I just stick around and happily keep you fat. Then I add to myself, ever so slyly, so that you never seem to notice it. That is until I've grown to ten, twenty, thirty or even more pounds in weight.

Yes, it's fun being ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT, left to do as I please.

So, when you weigh in, keep right on saying, "Oh, I only lost one pound." (As if that were such a terrible thing) For you see, if you do this, you'll encourage others to keep me around because they'll think I'm not worth losing.

And, I love being around you - your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips and every part of you.

Happy Days!!! After all, I'm ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT!!!

Need to lose 3 stone here, but will be happy at 2.5, even though that's still outside of the ideal BMI range for my height.

I'm in the spirit of this thread already as I only lost 1lb last week

snacking and sweets are my biggest downfalls, but I'm breastfeeding DS2 and have an incredibly sweet tooth as a result (I was the same with DD)

Will try and catch up tomorrow

Notreallycutoutforthis · 15/01/2009 11:19

Checking in to stay on the straight and narrow...

Yesterday turned into shite with the arrival of AF and a sudden blood-sugar plummet while I was in the supermarket. Cue eating large bar of chocolate, and then having pizza for supper (got so clumsy I couldn't trust myself with any more complicated cooking equipment).

But I logged it all on Food Focus, and though I went way over target, I haven't eaten more than I 'saved' over the previous 2 days, so averaging out I shouldn't at least be gaining weight and I can forgive myself.

So I'm nibbling on a grapefruit half, and have pre-booked a couple of large scotches for tonight as my reward for what will be a stressy afternoon

Notreallycutoutforthis · 15/01/2009 11:20

Oh Daisy - do you eat dates? I know lots of people can't stand them, but I find they're a good chocolate substitute sometimes...

MumHadEnough · 15/01/2009 11:39

Oh dear notreally! I hope you're going to be good today . Ah well, today is a fresh start eh!

Hope you are all doing well today.

I have my "official" weigh in with my CD counsellor today. I started last Monday but officially started with her last Tuesday and today is my first weigh in with her.

I'll use my own weigh ins for this thread though from my own scales as I'll weigh on a Monday morning.

Still doing ok, had a couple of slices of cold meat last night and a handful of peanuts. All protein though so I'll be fine. Just taking each day as it comes. If I manage not to eat at all, then cool, if I dont then so be it!

LackaDAISYcal · 15/01/2009 13:32

I love dates, notreally so will give that a go thanks (although I can see myself eating a packet a day!!)

Had a horrible afternoon with the kids yesterday, you know the sort; all shouting and stress, so once they were in bed I tucked into some crisps and a bag of wine gums...and a few glasses of port!

Got all my WW stuff out today though and have got my points all worked out and have been very good so far. It's evenings when the kids are in bed that is my danger time.

Someone suggested making a bowl of unsugared/unbuttered popcorn and to keep nibbling on that when hungry. Not sure it'd satisfy my sugar craving but worth a go. Early nights are another good one...can't snack if sleeping

CeceliaAhern · 15/01/2009 14:21

Just checking in to see if it will give me more motivation. I have upped my fruit intake to try to avoid caving in to temptation but I am afraid I just cannot go cold turkey.

I watched You Are What you Eat the other night- enough to put the frightners on me at the time but I would need to have it on a loop to avoid having a biscuit with my coffee.

Will weigh myself on Monday.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

bellavita · 15/01/2009 15:03

Well, I have my first fail - a large baileys - yes I know it is only 3.00pm, but DH said for me to chill and get a drink

I am trying to sort out our holiday and it is doing my head in (he is at work at the moment, but getting bombarded on MSN with my frustrations), so he said to chill and get a drink!

ladymariner · 15/01/2009 16:18

We're going to play badminton at 5pm, I've booked a court for me, dh, ds and ds' mate, thought a bit of fun exercise would help speed things up a bit.
Put my old t-shirt on that used to be too big......

ladymariner · 15/01/2009 20:54

Going in bath now - feel as though my legs have minds of their own!!!

ladymariner · 15/01/2009 21:40

Hellooooooo, anyone there?????????????

notreallycutoutforthis · 15/01/2009 21:59

No, not here, drinking thank you.

MumHadEnough · 15/01/2009 22:11

Hello!

Well done Lady mariner, did you enjoy your badminton? I used to love playing at school but don't think I've played since I was about 18, a whole 15 years ago (nearly!).

Notreally tut tut you are NAUGHTY!

I've been a really really good girl today, haven't picked at a single thing, so feeling very very virtuous.

Was a bit upset with myself today. Went and picked up my Cambridge bars and packs, not cheap at £39 a week (for 21 a full week), so you can imagine how raging I was when I found 19 packs under my desk in work from when I fell off the wagon at the end of November. What a twat I am!

Ho hum, just means I won't need to buy any next week, but I've been really just trying to do a day at a time and that means I'm kind of having to see forward a fortnight, iykwim!

LackaDAISYcal · 15/01/2009 22:17

I did ever so well all day and as usual the evening ins my downfall and I've had some chocolate

I have done half an hour step aerobics on the Wii Fit though and have power-walked the school run twice today as we were running late both times!

hi bellavita how are you?

notreallycutoutforthis · 15/01/2009 22:33

Mumhadenough - sent DH for bottle of wine and some supper. He came home with 3 bottles and some mallowteacakes. AIBU to want to kill him? (Whilst consuming the produce obviously)

bellavita · 15/01/2009 22:41

Hi Daisy - I am good thanks, hope you are ok, it looks like you have done really well.

I must get the Wii Fit out

Have done ok today, apart from the glass of baileys to calm my holiday trauma down and have just had a tiny piece of homemade brownie, I feel very guilty now though, but I have some homemade veg soup in the fridge and if I have that tomorrow for my lunch then it should balance it out, hopefully........

Well done LadyMariner.

notreallycutoutforthis · 15/01/2009 23:22

Oy! Lewisfan! These people are being all serious and dedicated. Control them!

Alambil · 16/01/2009 02:33

OMG!!!

LOL!

My shopping is due this afternoon; I've bought meat n veg - no carbs

I will start as of tomorrow night..... gulp!

Need to brave the scales before then to log where I'm starting from

Remember the rules people - NO GUILT!!!!

Keep up the good work; you're all doing really well

swedishmum · 16/01/2009 05:59

Is WiiFit good enough to ask dh to get for my birthday? And does it have to weigh me? That's what put me off getting it at Christmas - see how paranoid I am? If it has to show my weight I'm not having it.

Kept off the carbs yesterday, but had red wine. Think I need an alcohol free weekend - not too hard as dcs have various friends round for sleepovers. Mind you, after helping out at 2 primary school discos tomorrow that corkscrew may be beckoning...

LackaDAISYcal · 16/01/2009 12:04

in that case....bring on the ripples

LackaDAISYcal · 16/01/2009 12:05

that's chocolate ripples, not spare tyre ripples

LackaDAISYcal · 16/01/2009 12:07

oh, and Wii fit doesn't have to show you your weight! It's default setting is on your BMI and you have to click another screen to actually see your weight, although obviously it does weigh you.

ladymariner · 16/01/2009 13:08

Well done, daisy, i think you've deserved your chocolate after that!

Yes, really enjoyed my badminton, thankyou Mum, we had a laugh and a bit of exercise all in one go. Some of the courts weren't in use so after a few games of doubles ds and his mate went to play each other and me and dh played each other!! It was hard work, my legs are stiff this morning, it was probably all that bending to pick up the shuttlecock that I'd missed that did it

ladymariner · 16/01/2009 13:10

And thankyou, bella.
I keep coming on to post as it's helping me to keep focussed, it's like going to SW class in your own home!

swedishmum · 16/01/2009 13:33

Thanks Daisy. Will give it a go then. Have nightmares of it shouting at me to get off because I'm too fat and I'll break it!
