Hi girls!!

Right.... the rules:

1 No big goals.
2 No failing.
3 No guilt trips.

Our goals need to be realistic. It freaks me out to think I need to lose 10 stone. That's 140 pounds - it's a WHOLE PERSON!!!!

Therefore I propose that we make ourselves realistic goals. Ignore the final hurdle; the first hurdle is my first half a stone.

7 lbs.

No failing: if you put on any weight, then IT IS ALRIGHT. It will come off again.

We will try our best to keep our weight going down, but if it has a blip, then it has a blip - no big deal, ok?

I am sick and tired of putting myself on and feeling guilt tripped by people because I put a pound or two on this week.

NEWSBREAK: it doesn't matter in the big picture!

Focus on the positives.

We will encourage each other as we muddle along together, agreed?

Here is our inspiration to keep going:

Only One Pound

Hello! Do you know me? If you don't, you should. I'm a pound of fat. And I am the happiest pound of fat that you would ever want to meet.

Want to know why? It's because no one ever wants to lose me; I'm ONLY ONE POUND, just a pound!

Everyone wants to lose three pounds, five pounds, or fifteen pounds, but never only one.

So I just stick around and happily keep you fat. Then I add to myself, ever so slyly, so that you never seem to notice it. That is until I've grown to ten, twenty, thirty or even more pounds in weight.

Yes, it's fun being ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT, left to do as I please.

So, when you weigh in, keep right on saying, "Oh, I only lost one pound." (As if that were such a terrible thing) For you see, if you do this, you'll encourage others to keep me around because they'll think I'm not worth losing.

And, I love being around you - your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips and every part of you.

Happy Days!!! After all, I'm ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT!!!

from for the weekend

swedishmum · 30/01/2009 19:37

That's great MHE - I'm sure you'll make your holiday target.
Eddas, I'm near Ashford but there's no race there. Folkestone Leas is a bit prettier anyway
I'm being stricter on myself with the carbs today and drinking Rooibos tea (no milk). Is it too early for a vodka and slimline tonic?

MumHadEnough · 30/01/2009 21:21

Thanks Swedishmum. What is Rooibos tea?

Well, had a wee bit more than I intended tonight but still not too bad. Only had one shake and 2 coffees all day, then had some kebab meat with salad and some chicken chat.

TOTM appeared today as well, so that could explain how quickly I put that 4lbs on and how quickly they're coming off again.

Feeling very headachey tonight though, feel an early night is in order (bit of a miracle for me who is a night owl if that happens!).

Eddas · 31/01/2009 07:28

i weighed myself -4lbs

I wasn't too great yesterday but i've let myself off as I was good for 6 days. Wasn't too bad but could've been better! Today dh and I are going for a curry so i'll be good all day and then have what I fancy tonight, just no starter

MumHadEnough · 31/01/2009 09:27

Well done Eddas, thats brilliant!

Enjoy the curry. Nom nom nom nom.

I'm keep myself going by thinking of all the fab all inclusive grub I'll be eating next week on holiday. I'll no doubt put all the weight back and then need to start from scratch when I get home!

ladymariner · 31/01/2009 11:11

Oh wow, eddas, that's really brilliant, well done you!!! Just think, the weight of two bags of sugar gone from you already, hurrah!!

I'm also trying hard still, me and dh go for our weekend away today so I'm being very good till then, although the bottle of champagne I've packed is calling to me......

(I get weighed at class on monday so I've got the SW consultant's voice in the other ear though!!! Probably just as well)

MumHadEnough · 31/01/2009 17:00

Have a lovely time ladymariner!

MumHadEnough · 31/01/2009 18:32

Have a lovely time ladymariner!

MumHadEnough · 31/01/2009 18:33

no idea how that happened!

swedishmum · 31/01/2009 22:21

Rooibos tea is naturally decaffeinated - I'm trying to cut down on coffee - and it tastes horrible delicious. Well done Eddas - that's the same as the leg of lamb I lugged home today! Ladymariner, enjoy the champagne - it's all bubbles and there are no calories in bubbles

mamalovesmojitos · 01/02/2009 17:56

hi all! haven't checked in here in a few weeks. everyone seems to be doing well.

i'm having a flat day, have lost about half a stone already which is great. it's just that i really see the mountain ahead!

when i was eating i ignored my body. now, the last week or so i've really been noticing how overweight i am. i'm so fed up and scared that even when i lose weight (not if! when.) i'll be left with saggy boobs and stretch marks and probably a big flabby tummy. i know it's silly to worry. its just like i've been in denial for so long. i feel like it's too late to save my body

on the upside i feel like something's switched on in my brain and i'm not finding it hard to cut down on junk.

swedishmum · 01/02/2009 19:22

Hi mama, it's never too late to save your body! I hope not anyway because I'm damn well going to try. I'm thinking of trying Winsor Pilates. Well done on the weight loss - that's great.

mamalovesmojitos · 01/02/2009 19:56

thanks swedishmum. to be fair i am young so should prob stop complaining and start living. just so fed up with it all. i detest my middle.

i am also trying pilates, really want to tone as well as lose inches. trying to focus on positive - i may never be able to wear crop tops but hopefully will someday have toned arms and will look good in strappy tops.

we'll all get there! motivating myself by looking up summer fashions. at least it is only feb, we've plenty of time to look a bit better by the time the summer comes.

swedishmum · 01/02/2009 21:08

I certainly will never be wearing crop tops but am v old - 45 on Sat. I've been looking at a rather nice black DVF wrap dress - that's my dream target item. Not my budget sadly. After 4 children and decades of abuse I probably have plenty of time to save up

mamalovesmojitos · 01/02/2009 21:55

well i did a quick search for you, a black dvf wrap dress could be bought for 300. so if my calculations are right you could save roughly £7 a week starting tomorrow and you could afford one by christmas! . there's a motivator!

swedishmum · 01/02/2009 22:05

Hey, might be a size 0 by then....

swedishmum · 01/02/2009 22:07
Hmm
MumHadEnough · 02/02/2009 11:25

Good morning everyone , thank crunchy the temptations of the weekend are over!!!! I've done okay and I'm glad to say I hit my 1 stone loss this morning

So on 5th January, I was 11st 6lbs and today I am 10st 6lbs .

Will try to keep going until holiday on Thursday to hopefully minimise the damage that I'll do whilst away.

Shall we take bets as to what I'll put on. I reckon 7lbs, given that I put 4lbs on last weekend being naughty! I know a lot of that is Glycogen though as I haven't been eating carbs.

Hope you are all having a wonderful Monday. I'm certainly in a good mood .

ladymariner · 02/02/2009 20:08

Hi everyone, and a HUGE well done to Mumhadenough, that is so fantastic How happy are you going to feel going on holiday a stone lighter??

I've also got good news tonight. I weighed in at SW this evening and I've lost 3lbs this week - hurrah hurrah hurrah!!! That's 8lbs in 3 weeks, makes me one stone and 2lbs lighter so far. Only another 2 and a half stones to go!! Must have been all the dancing and "what-have-you" over the weekend, and you were obviously right, swedishmum, there clearly aren't any calories in champagne!

Aren't we all doing great, I'm loving this thread and the support we're able to give one another

MumHadEnough · 02/02/2009 22:05

Thank you Ladymariner, and the same right back at you , that's fantastic.

I'm just so glad that my holiday clothes fit again. This time last year I was 12st 6lbs, the heaviest I've been in my life (except being pregnant) then in June I was 9st 8lbs and I felt great, but still a bit tubby (I'm only 5ft 2") and i bought a whole wardrobe of new clothes. When I get back from holiday I'm aiming to get right back on the wagon here with you all and get down to at least that again as I can't believe that I let myself get back up to 11st 6lbs again!

You're right Ladymariner, this is a fabulous thread and I look forward to logging on and seeing how you are all doing and of course sharing how I'm doing.

Thank you all for your support and sending you all loads of fat burning vibes.

C x

swedishmum · 02/02/2009 22:20

Excellent MHE - well done! Hope you have a fantastic holiday.

Eddas · 03/02/2009 08:40

wow well done MHE and LM brilliant I have been bad over the weekend and yesterday but I will not be today

MumHadEnough · 03/02/2009 11:09

No, you WILL be good today Eddas! Won't you!

bellavita · 04/02/2009 07:28

Well done MHE.

I sort of fell off the wagon on Saturday night - we went out for a meal to celebrate our friends 50th. The eating what I wanted carried on till Sunday night .

However, I have managed to sort of pull it back Mon/Tue and hopefully will get rid of that bloated feeling again.

swedishmum · 04/02/2009 13:57

I'm starting to feel a bit Emperor's New Clothes-ish - maybe I only imagine I've lost weight. So wish I'd weighed myself before I started. In reality, I know I'm wearing trousers that have never fitted etc.
I bought some trousers that are a size too small today - really nice and really cheap in a sale. Tell me they'll fit eventually...
I need to do some stomach exercises - that's where i really need to lose the inches, but I'm rubbish at exercising. Any quick results ideas out there??
