For all those using Nintendos' little marvel to help slim down!

My mum got me this for Christmas, and when I go up on it today, it'll be my fifth day . I aim for 30 mins a day but at the minute I'm happy with around 15 at a minimum. Need to start building it up, I want to lose 2-3 stone, taking me to 9st or 8st if I can do it. (Can you tell I've not got kids yet!). Hopefully I can do it, come and join me!

I need to join too, but will only be able to use it of an evening until my new blind comes becausxe I am not showing myself up in front of the whole street.

My BMI is just in the healthy range and my wii fit age is my real age which is 30.

I tried the Yoga the other night and apparently I am very good at it, but god knows how.
I am crap at all of the balance games, and the jogging makes me feel sick. I do like the hula and the step aerobics though.

Does anyone wear shoes for the likes of jogging and if not how do you avoid any impact injury ?

I'll join! Another one who's got it for christmas. I'm hoping to fit it in around 9 week old dd - she doesn't do naps as such but I'm hoping she'll occasionally sit in her chair and happily watch me do odd things at the telly for 15 mins or so.

I was fairly pleased with an age of 31 - only a year older than I actually am, but had bmi of 26, so in the overweight section. Need to lose a stone to get back to pre-baby weight but would need to go further to get to a BMI of 22.

Can I join too please? My DH bought me a wii and wii fit for Xmas, I have been on it every day so far, doing at least 30 mins on wii sports and 20 mins on wii fit.

My wii fit age is 38, I am 34 so not too bad, my bmi is the top end of overweight though. This time last year I was 13st 1 pound, by October I had got down to 11st, then it all went a bit Pete Tong and I am now back up to 11st 10 at myself as it has gone back on so quickly but took forever to lose it As of yesterday I am back on my diet and fitness regime and have just seen this topic, looks like fun as we could also have competitions on scores for various exercises too

liz, you can super hula for 10 mins or MORE once you unlock it - I love the way the activities build over time, feels like progress

I don't wear shoes but do jog with about 18 pairs of socks on my feet on the yoga mat thing so it's sort of spongy.

mysterymoniker - have you super hula'd for 10 minutes? I am impressed!

The jog thing isn't actually hard pounding on road surfaces, I'm always barefoot for the wii fit but I don't jog ever often.

Hi - can I join you all?? I love my Wii Fit Board, does anyone know how you can do the freestyle step where you watch TV whilst climbing on and off of the board?? I can only seem to watch my mii but I think i could do loads if I was watching TV at the same time.

i will play! I haven't been using the wii fit much but i do enjoy it. Anyway, January the 5th seems to be the new New Years Day as far as diets and exercise plans go! To getthe free step on the step aerobics you need to spend more time on the aerobiic exercise section to unlock it. Then it just kind of clicks for you to go on and off whilst you are watching something else. The music channels are good cos then you can throw a few shapes whilst stepping (if no ones watching) I find it a bit slow though.

You change channels so it's on your usual TV stations.

Did 20 minutes today and was very good at Yoga, but aggravated my SPD something rotten, which is very annoying. Wii fit age of 34 though - 7 years younger than my real age!

I've just seen this too and would like to join

I suppose my first step is taking the thing out of its box . I've had flu over Christmas and New Year though so that's my excuse. Weightloss/get fit campaing starts tomorrow in earnest though.

Will get it out tomorrow when DS1 os at school or he'd only be arguing with me over it!!

Are these still out of stock everywhere?

Where's the best place to look for one?

Has anyone tried the My fitness Trainer for the Wii?

I was looking at getting Wii Fit but saw this and it looks quite good.

Going to do 30 mins on my Cross trainer tonight instead of the wii

I need to join this thread. We got the wii and wii fit for xmas and I need to set up the board but need to get net curtains first. The wii is in the front room, I hate nets but the thought of people starring in at me making a prat of myself is worse I think.

I thought I wouldn't care about that sort of thing until, in the mirror, I glimpsed myself super hula-ing with bits of me bulging out all over the place . . .

not that many people walk past my house or could see through my grimy windows if they did

LisaLessLumpy · 06/01/2009 09:17

The funniest thing I have ever seen is my DH doing the super hula in his boxer shorts i would die with embarrasment if I ever saw myself

Report
wem · 06/01/2009 09:23

DD seemed most amused by my super hula-ing. She was less interested while I was doing the balance games, which I guess just look like you are stood still staring at the telly.
