Hi everyone.

Lost 1.5lbs this week, but whilst waiting to be weighed I heard (well actually evesdropped!) a conversation between other members. They reckoned that WW scales make you a couple of pounds heavier which means you will keep going back to them...I wasnt sure so decided to go along to Boots and get weighed on there digital scales.
WW make me 16st 10lb but boots scales made me 16st 7lb and I was wearing my jeans jumper and timberland boots..something I definately dont wear to ww!!!
What do you think????
Anyway Ive made a decision to quit going to ww. Dont panic, Iam still going to be following the points but will be weighing myself weekly at boots. This is simply because I just cant afford to go to ww and pay a fiver to be weighed.
I could justify it if I was staying for meeting or getting supoort from my leader, but Im just not.
I will get down to my 10st target...i will, i will!!!

Hi,

I've been reading this thread & I would like to join if that's ok?

I followed the points system last year & got down to 10st (I'm 5"8 and at 10st I look fine). Over the past year, I crept up to 10st12lb (clothes feeling tight stage). I've been counting the points, cutting out the rubbish & have lost 6lbs in 3 weeks.

Reading this thread has really motivated me (I don't go to class, I hate getting weighed on my own & couldn't face the thought of getting weighed in front of everyone else). It's nice to know everyone else has their "wine & curry" moments!

Just a quick question. What is this new Switch diet I've heard about? i follow the traditional pts diet & altho I'm allowed 20pts, I normally eat around 14-16 per day to save for the curry & wine at the weekends!

Hello to Berny and katiepig - I have joined the weightwatchers esource thingy for a free 3 month trial picked up a leaflet at my weigh in - is great way to track and keeps me motivated. And none of those hideous meetings! Wozzle - interesting what you say about ww scales being weighted - was tempted to weigh in at gym this am but thought would save the rubbish news till lunch time weigh in. perhaps will weigh at gym and see what it says!

Hi Ark!

I have not heard about that offer (obviously as don't go to weigh ins). What do you have to do? Is there a promotional code that you have to enter or is it only for ww members?

Berny

I had to enter an access code and my leader number - can see if I can pick you up a leaftlet when I go next week if you remind me on Wednesday?? Probably high illegal but never mind!! Lost 3.5lb this week - praise the lord now only .5lb away from loosing my first stone. DP says he will buy me new jeans when I reach that point!!! Very excited by prospect of clothes shopping

That is fantastic Ark!! Well done!

10lb is the most I lost - I found the last few pounds were the hardest to lose!

If you could get me a leaflet that would be fab, thank you. I will post a message on this thread next Tuesday as a reminder! I tend to get weighed on a Thursday but cheated this week & got weighed yesterday!! Been cutting right back on the mid-week wine! Seems to have helped!

i lost 1 1/2 lbs this week - and got my first silver 7!!! Not bad in 2 weeks - i know it will slow down but i am glad of the initial boost. Dior that is great news - from reading on here, you really know your stuff and have been a great support to others. Have you a really nasty photo of you at your largest to put on your ww stand?! If not, you can borrow some of mine!

Fee - 1/2 stone in two weeks - crikey - that is good - only now about to struggle to 1 stone lost after 3 months - however its all good. Dior fab news about the leader thing - I sure you'll blow them away at the interview - we could write you testimonials , say you are like our e-leader and how supportive you've been. Lucy Katie - w'hay 3 pound super news. I often blow out on chinese and wine - I am sure everybody does - you wouldn't be human if you didn't have a few vices!

Thanks ark - i guessed about 3 points for the melon - but that was probably totally underestimating, never mind!!

wozzle - i feel the same as you about paying to get weighed, so good luck doing it yourself!

katiepig - i had the same problem, (when i can be bothered) i used to do a yoga dvd and an aerobics one and put dd in her moses basket/playmat near me so she could watch me do it - it was actually the only thing that kept her quiet all day, and she even forced a few smiles out too at ho ridiculous i loked no doubt. can you go for walks with the buggy? i found that really hard going at first, but after a few times, i found i could walk further and not be tired, and when i went to the gym after building up my walking, i was amazed at how much of a difference it had made to my fitness after only a couple of weeks.

lucykatie - i have lost my way since christmas...

fee77 well done

congrats dior - good luck with interview¬ hows the gym going?

hi dior.. my height is 5" 4 so only one inch between us! i could never imagine in my wildest dreams weighing 8st 13!! my goal is set at top of range for height.. 10 6, would love to get to 9st 11 as weighed that in late teens and early 20's and was a size 10.. at the moment even 10-6 seems very far away so not even thinking of anythin lower at this stage, but hey ya never know!!
started out at 12st this time and am now 11st7 which is a good start i guess, always go really well for about 6 weeks and then give up so this time i hope to break that bad cycle..
Lightest i've weighed over the last 8 years is 10st 11,then fell pregnant with ds (now 14mths)
so hopefully this is my year!
with the support of you all on this thread it seems possible, well heres hopin anyway!
