Well done Fee & Linnywith!

I've been doing really well this past fortnight! Lost 5lbs!! I've found planning lunch/tea ahead has really helped!!

Problem is, I'm away on a training course for two days & will be forced to eat at Beefeater/Brewers Fayre (which is next to the travel inn I'm staying in)

  • fine when I'm not counting points, but think I'll struggle to find something healthy! Does anyone have any suggestions?? (apart from taking my own doggy bag of food!)

Berney - you need to get the eating out book - it has brewers fayre in it for sure! Beware the salads - always ask for dressing on the side! Sometimes I think the easiest thing to do is have steak with salad - big big effort to avoid the chips!! HTH When do you go??

Ok my "get active" stage has started - i bought one of those rebounder thimgs yesterday. Last night i bounced through a couple of tracks on vh1 - it was really cool and i felt invigorated - then i sat down and ate a load of tea!! Whoops! Off to bounce through doctors now.

fee, what is a rebounder? is it like a miny trampoline? Sounds fun - My Mum posted me her 1980 Rosemary Coneley 7 day work out video - I have never laughed soooo much but actually it is very good. Just been for a swim - decided to try out the electric scales at the gym and contary to others experiences I weigh exactly as my ww leader said. So either ww are right or I have gained a few pounds since Thursday!

Yes ark, it is a tiny trampoline, and it is quite good fun You can bounce and jog and wave your arms around, all in the privacy of your own home, whilst watching trash tv! The best thing is it is low impact, so wont damge your joints etc, and seeing as i am past thirty, very overweight and already have dodgy knees it is ideal!! It makes my enormous boobs bounce a bit too much for my liking though!
Aren't you good going swimming. I have the vanessa feltz exercise video - thats funny too, she is even more unco-ordinated than me!

miny is clearly a mix of tiny and mini! Clearly need to leave work right now - my brain is fried!

Thanks Ark, I go tomorrow.

I do have a copy of the eating out book, but it was printed in the dark ages & doesn't have any modern eating places in! I'm going to see if the travel inn is in the town centre or just off the motorway as this will open my options! Thanks for the salad tip - it's all those creamy dressings that add up the points I guess.

I also went on my trampoline last night. I'm also giving the Cardio Kate Lawler kick boxng vid a try. As such, my bum, legs & just about everything is killing this morning!!! Oh dear

Oh - by the way ark, could you see if you could get me one of those leaflets we were chatting about last week/let me know the details?

Thanks x

Good luck with it Berney - I have to do loads of Lunches and stuff for work - whole thing is real stressful in terms of point monitoring although lovely otherwise!! Hope it goes okay otherwise.

I'm absolutely mortified.

Started ww 3 weeks ago at 10st 12. Lost 4lbs in week 1 to take me down to 10st 8. Last week I lost another 2lbs to take me to 10st 6.

So why on earth am I back up to 10st11 this week! Just got weighed on lunch hour in Boots & feel completely de-moivated now. I have been so good for 3 weeks - even been eating under my pts allowance to save points for goodies. This weekend I had a bottle of wine, a chinese and a curly wurly and they're all the bad things I ate/drank?

Really fed up now - why have I gained? I had just eaten a sandwich for lunch, but surely that wouldn't make a difference on the same scales? Has anyone else ever had the same problem?

Feel like eating a big bag of haribo now just to cheer myself up!

so glad i'm not the only one with this problem! - i started at 11 stone and 10 weeks in have only lost 3ibs! - i lose a bit one week and gain the next and it's just getting really embarassing, i feel like giving up but know if i didn't have the weigh in that i'd really let myself go! - i had no probs losing weight pre DS and i'm not half as naughty as i used to be then (although admit i could be better but i've got to have treats now and again!)
stick with it - i'm hoping my mindset will miraculously change soon and the loss will star kicking in - i'm at that stage wher my size 14s are too big but my size 12s are too little - really need to lose this week or i'll die of shame as haven't lost now for 3 weeks!!

Guys - stick with it!! Sometimes it just works out like that - I have hopefully come to the otherside of a 5 week period of yoyo ing 4 pounds!! Try and up the excercise and track everything. i had only been trakking the stuff that was good, i.e leaving out all the chocs and crisps - what use is that! however you will crack it - surely the goal is not just to be slim but also to adopt a more health conscious lifestyle? Remember its all loss from your starting point!!

Report
berny7 · 19/04/2005 16:02

Yes that's true - I was just feeling so smug at losing 6lbs so quickly! Will have to try & up the exercise as you say - but I'm just so lazy. I have a desk job & although i work out 3 times a week, I do very little any other time! .

I'm glad to hear that I'm not alone - it's just that that has never happened to me (or it has but only if I've been eating rubbish!)

Thanks for your advice Dior!

I do only order chow mein & split it in half to make 2 meals. So in theory that should be about 4points, right??

Monthly weigh in might not be such a bad idea - with a weekly weigh in, it seems to be taking over my life!!

When I did it last year, I found even if i had a bad week I still lost a bit!! I've completely stopped drinking in the week too, which I though may have helped.

Is it true you shouldn't weigh yourself any more than once a week? When I got weighed yesterday, it had only been 5 days since I last got weighed? Maybe that could have contributed (or am i just making excuses!!

Oh dear, did not do too good last night..really lost the plot.
4 bags of fun size milky way stars, two chocolate chip cookies and three slices of cheese on toast!! (with butter)...oh it was heaven!!!
That is the only time since January that I have really gone off the rails...big time!
Im blaming the womans monthly thing!! I just needed some TLC....well thats my excuse anyway!

Oh wozzle - i sooooo understand - i was feeling low yesterday so had 7 malted milk biscuits and 2 special k bars - a total of 10 points in as many minutes! And it didn't make me feel that better! I did try to have a healthy tea though, but i am dreading weigh in tomorrow.
How did you get on ark? Don't dispair - what's your weight loss so far, i bet it is impressive.

Well, after 4 weeks of losing very little (.5 - 1lb per week) and doing tons of exercise I got weighed last night & have lost 2.5 lbs - that makes a total of 21.5 so I'm really chuffed
