MooandPops · 18/11/2008 20:03

Ok Ok you have heard it all before, I have a gazillion stones and pounds to lose but this is me and this is the first time that I really have put my hands up and said enough - 16.5 stones is too much I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING!!!

My best way of eating properly is a low Gi diet but anyone doing any diet is welcome to be my buddy. I have a DS, a DD and a DH all of which keep me on my toes - I love all the things that are bad for me - I slip up all the time - I don't exercise enough and my clothes are too tight.... sound familiar anyone?

Please..;.pretty please?

Hi everyone. How have you done this week? Ive been at my mums since friday and can truthfully say that ive been very good on the diet front. Ive been sticking to my calorie allowance and eating my diet meals. Im not going to weigh myself today though as id rather use the same scales everytime. Plus AF is in town so im feeling rather bloated. Hope your all doing well .

Will weigh myself on friday and let you know

Timeisablindguide · 18/02/2009 16:46

Hi missnatalie!
I've done ok - not lost anything this week but, mjore impportantly, not put anything on! Been with my in-laws the last few days and it's hard there as there aren't many healthy options BUT I've been doing my own meals separately and have managed to stay the same weight as last Weds. And I even had a small piece of cake! Got to keep it up now though...

TheYearOfTheCat · 18/02/2009 20:28

Hi all,

Well, I can proudly announce that I am now 13 stone something! Weigh in was 88.6kg (13st 13lb).

The only thing is, it is almost in spite of myself. I can feel myself going down the slippery slope again, and I am starting to snack on junk again (as well as having wine mid-week). I think I need to focus on my key rules again:

  1. Reduce portion sizes.
  2. No alcohol mid-week.
  3. No junky snacks.
  4. Increase water intake.
  5. Increase exercise.

Hope this week is good to you.

Timeisablindguide · 18/02/2009 22:39

TheYearOfTheCat well done!! Keep it up! You're helping me to watch my portions, so don't slip now or I'll be floundering!
Have a good week ahead - see you next Weds !

missnatalie · 19/02/2009 09:35

Well done for not putting any on Timeisablindguide . Its been really hard for me too. My mum is a typical northerner and likes to fatten me up on stew and dumplings.

Welcome to the 13st club TheYearoftheCat . How does it feel .

Well ive come back home early so just weighed myself and im happy to say that ive lost another 2lb. That puts me ay 13st 7lb. 1lb of 1 stone loss. I am extreamlly proud of myself.]

TheYearOfTheCat · 19/02/2009 10:18

MissNat - Great job!

Timeisablindguide · 19/02/2009 21:31

missnatalie - good work! I'm off for my chicken and broccoli tea!

missnatalie · 25/02/2009 12:41

Another 2lb loss for me this week . Im now at 13st 5lb and a dress smile smaller . Hows everyone else doing?

TheYearOfTheCat · 25/02/2009 13:42

Well, today I was 88.8kg, so .2kg on .

It could have been worse, at the weekend I was 89.6kg . I have been trying to do a bit more exercise and walking this week, so hopefully it will show up on the scales next week. I hate it when despite being quite good there is no weight loss - I tend to say to myself 'What's the point' and then reach for the biscuit cupboard.

Well done MissNat - so pleased for you!

Time - how did you get on?

I wonder how MooandPops is getting on with WW?

Dropdeadfred · 25/02/2009 13:48

Hi All.
I want to lose 3 stone.
I cut all carbs 2 weeks ago and I have lost 9lb.

Still a long way to go but I can't beleive I have managed two weeks with no sugar!!
My skin and hair do look really god now too!!

TheYearOfTheCat · 25/02/2009 13:51

Wow - DDF! 9lb in 2 weeks! That's fantastic. Come and join us - we report progress each Wednesday.

I could do with no sugar - I bought some discounted Valentine's day chocs from Tescos, and have been squirreling at them.

Dropdeadfred · 25/02/2009 13:56

Thanks TheYearofTheCat!!
It was very fifficut for the first couple of days..must admit I used to drink 4-6 cans of coke a day and NEVER drank water cos i hate the stuff. I had headaches for about 48 hours on and off and nearly collapsed in waitrose going past the bread counter (the smell of fresh bread nearly killed me) but now I am so motivated that even DH sitting drinking up my coke supplies and chomping chocolate bars has not swayed me!!

I'm gradually introducing linseed bread into my diet this week and a few more carbs, so I know the weighloss will slow but it has given me the push I needed. I have tried WW before but never really liked it and still ate lots of crap and then had no points left for proper meals
So thi was the kickstart I needed.
Good Luck everyone whatever method you are using!

TheYearOfTheCat · 04/03/2009 20:26

Well Ladies, how did today go for you?

I am so discouraged, I can't even post my weight this morning. Suffice to say it wasn't good.

The good news is that I have been really active in the last week - loads of walking, went for a run, joined a pilates class (with homework), so all this activity must show up on the scales sometime.

Hope this week has been good for you.

missnatalie · 05/03/2009 10:52

Only 1lb losst for me this week . That now puts me at 13st 4lb. Im not suprised really at so little loss as the diet completly went out of the window this last week. Ive had Subway, 3/4 large bag of chocolate m&m's, half a portion of nachos, 2 x garlic ciabatta, 1.5 crispy chicken strips and a slice of veggie pizza . Theres more naught stuff too but thats all i can remember. I should be glad to have not put any on really . Diet head back on from today. Cant wait to be in the 12st area now.

Is it really that bad TheYearogTheCat ? Whilst doing all this extra exercise, make sure your eating enough or else your body will go into starvation mode and store fat. Thats what the experts say anyway . You've had a blip this week but start a fresh with me today and all will be well at the next weigh in. Did you have a look at that site and the diet that im doing. Its so easy, it really is. Give it a go, even if its just for the 24hr trial. I was hooked after that

frazzled74 · 05/03/2009 11:29

can i join in? i need to lose at least 1 stone 11/2 would take me back to the weight i was before my youngest 2 were born.i have just joined local sports centre, going to do 2 exercise classes a week and swim twice a week.diet wise will cut down on fat and alcohol and reduce portion size. I just need somewhere to report in each week so that i keep it up and dont cheat.

missnatalie · 05/03/2009 13:24

TheYearOfTheCat · 10/03/2009 08:40

Hi all, (and welcome frazzled )

Well, things have improved a bit since last week - doing loads of pilates and walking.

Today's weigh in was 87.8kg - so going back in the right direction.

My next target is to reach 85kg by my birthday, in 4 weeks time.

frazzled74 · 11/03/2009 09:41

mummydoc · 18/03/2009 12:07

i know you started this thread yikes ago but can i please join in.....i have lost quite a bit over last 2 yrs but have stalled badly and need some motivation...i weigh 79KG and want to be 72kg so not too much to go but have not lost any since nov 08 - PANTS. need to cut out all carbs as really cannot eat them as so addictive worse than alcohol i reckopn

TheYearOfTheCat · 18/03/2009 23:06

Hi Mummydoc, welcome.

MissNat - what fab progress. You must be feeling great! Will you put some new photos on your profile so we can see the mini-you? (I'm technically challeneged, which is why I have no profile).

Anyway, this morning was 87.2kg or 13 stone 10 lbs.

Frazzled, how are you getting on?

Ladies, I was thinking that our thread will be 6 months old in May. Who would have thought we would be doing so well?

annh · 18/03/2009 23:22

Just stumbled across this thread, pretty please can I join? Am currently 80.1 kg which is a shocking amount for me and means I only have two pairs of trousers which fit, loads of lovely clothes which don't fit and refuse to buy any more. Also have a big family occasion coming up at the beginning of May and a two week holiday at the end of May so just HAVE to lose some serious weight by then. Am going to go read the thread so see how everyone has been doing so far.

frazzled74 · 19/03/2009 11:13

-1lb for me this week, not great considering 2 pilates classes and 2 swim sessions plus have been walking everywhere. am going to dig out my old weight watchers book and start counting points, i think.well done everyone else.

missnatalie · 19/03/2009 13:09

Well done theyearofthatcat thats fab weight loss. Ive tried to add new pics put the pixels on my camera are too big so it wont let me. I'll get DP to have a go later.

Welcome to annh and mummydoc. Were all doing different diets, ive joined www.weightlossresources.co.uk its similar to weight watchers but you count calories instead of points. Its the only diet that ive ever stuck too and trust me, ive tried them all .

Well done to you too frazzled. 1lb off is better than 1lb on. Maybe all the exercise will show up on the scales next week. Dont give up your doing so well.
