Ok Ok you have heard it all before, I have a gazillion stones and pounds to lose but this is me and this is the first time that I really have put my hands up and said enough - 16.5 stones is too much I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING!!!

My best way of eating properly is a low Gi diet but anyone doing any diet is welcome to be my buddy. I have a DS, a DD and a DH all of which keep me on my toes - I love all the things that are bad for me - I slip up all the time - I don't exercise enough and my clothes are too tight.... sound familiar anyone?

Please..;.pretty please?

MooandPops · 10/12/2008 20:18

AAAAAAH Gals...am sinking...help!!

All gone a bit wrong - have nibbled and munched my way through...its weigh in today and am a shining 2/3lbs up - this means I am now 16st 3 having been 16st - ugh.

Miss Nat - how did you pull it back having had a blow out with your sister?

TheYearOfTheCat · 10/12/2008 22:05

MissNat - I have Tanita digital scales, which are really accurate - the only thing was when I bought them, I had to readjust my expectations, because my previous ones weighted me so much [falsely] lighter .

Mooandpops, chin up - my DH says that losing loads of weight is like climbing a mountain - sometimes you go uphill, sometimes hit a plateau, and sometimes need to go back downhill for a rest (IYSWIM?). From what you have posted, your diet seems to be pretty good. I wonder, have you had your thyroid checked by your GP? I stumbled on one of the GPs in my practice about a year ago, who was really sympathetic to my situation (had never encountered this before). She did a lot of blood tests, which showed my thyroid as borderline, which made the fact that I had trained for and done a 1/2 marathon, yet only lost 3 kg, finally make sense. I tried to deal with my weight for a further 10 months before I finally went on to the Reductil. I'm sure it isn't right for everyone, but it is helping me.

Have a good weekend - off to 2 Christmas functions tomorrow & Friday LOL

MooandPops · 11/12/2008 15:58

Hello the Gals

Am back and have finished my winge! Thank you for bearing with me - but have had a good day today and am hoping that by next Wed I will have lost the extra 2!bs I added back on.

I did indeed have my thyroid done and it was fine! Was really hoping for a medical reason for my being far too heavy other than my love of good food and red wine!

Miss Nat...I think am with you on the digital scale thing - I think it would help. Am trying to find a good local gym that doesnt cost a gazillion pounds per month!

Miss Cat - you are full of such good thoughts and advice...am delighted that you gals are on my team...we will do this!

Enjoy your parties Miss Cat - have lots of pals and family coming next week - the shifts of visitors are starting!

Its Friday tomorrow Miss Nat...how are you feeling about your weigh in?

Bye Gals x

Hi Ladies, i pulled back my massive over eating session by drinking loads of water for a few days to flush out my system and eating even smaller portions.

Not feeling too good about tomorrows weigh in. Have had a crap week and done a fair bit of snacking. AF has been in town so thats my excuse . I feel like ive put loads of weight on!!

Im going up North to my mums for the weekend too and she always insists on feeding me up (more like fattening me up).

Im going to give the juicing another go next week but instead of having JUST juices, im going to have one meal a day. Ireally need to lose this weight. I look and feel dreadful!! Absolutly minging!! .

Hope everyone is doing ok.xx

TheYearOfTheCat · 14/12/2008 22:02

Help girls! You know a few days ago I was saying 'Let's keep motivated in the run up to Christmas' It's all going horribly wrong . I was out for 2 Xmas functions, Thurs & Fri, and ate & drank too much (although had a great time), from Saturday I have felt grim - some sort of virus / cold, and a gastro situation, and all I have wanted is to comfort myself with sweet carbs - read M&S belgian biscuit selection.

I need to get back on track!!!!

missnatalie · 15/12/2008 12:41

Hey girls!! I had a terrible weigh in on Friday. Have gained 3lbs!!! So i drank myself stupid on friday night, absolutly puked my guts up and lost it again. This wasnt my intention. I havnt touched alcohol for 3yrs so one or 2 glasses (actually it was a mug) of Asti Martini and i was gone. Felt terrible on Saturday. Gona replace 2 meals with juices this week to see if that helps.
Come on YearofTheCat its a new week. Lets start a fresh together.

missnatalie · 16/12/2008 19:20

I went on my Wii Fit today and weighed myself and it said that i had lost 4lb . I went to the kitchen to grab a bottle of water, went back on it and id gained 3lb . So its official. I have no idea what i weigh or what im losing. The Wii is no going for weighing yourself but fab for exercise....
....Im off to argos to buy my scales

missnatalie · 17/12/2008 12:51

Where is everyone??

TheYearOfTheCat · 17/12/2008 13:00

Hi MissNat. Did you get your scales?

My weigh in this morning was 91.4kg. 0.4kg loss from last week (unbelievably ), so at least I haven't put any on.

I have a mini target of 90kg by Christmas, so I had better get my skates on (and my paws out of the M&S biscuit tin) if I am going to get anywhere near that.

Mooandpops, how are you getting on?

missnatalie · 17/12/2008 14:16

Hi Girls - hope your Christmas went well. I am lying on the sofa with flu . I think I need a weigh in holiday this week!

spookycharlotte121 · 27/12/2008 02:10

Heya, can I join you please?

Christmas is over so I want to get on and lose weight. In all I would like to lose 2 stone, maybe a litttle more. Ds is 18 months and dd 6 months so I never lost the weight between having both kids and carried on putting on weight after dd was born.

Its my birthday in just over a week so I would like to get on the diet now and start trying to lose a few lbs so that I can look a little better for that. There are numerous reason why i wanna lose weight, one of which being that I want to look good when I start looking for jobs in june.

I too am rubbish at the whole doet plan thing and cant get to the gym with 2 small kids and no dp so I am going to follow a healthy eating thing and do exercise dvd's.

Im going out tomorrow night but am still going to start being sensible. If its ok for me to join in then I will report bk tomorrow.

Hope you all had a nice xmas. x

nappyaddict · 27/12/2008 02:16

you should all think about juicing. i have found this thread fab for inspiration and motivation.

i lost a stone in 3 weeks on it but you can do it long term and lose more weight that that. it isn't a diet it is a complete lifestyle change and way of thinking.

If you do it you need to go cold turkey. I have had two attempts. My first failed because I kept thinking one little bit of this wouldn't hurt in a whole day. My body was still used to me snacking on something and so was still craving and so i would give in and have something. On my second attempt I craved something for probably the first 3 days but this time I didn't give in. Then honestly after 3 days I didn't really crave anything at all. If I did I would eat a tiny bit of fruit instead. I found I actually started craving fruit and vegetables not crisps and chocolates. I made sure I kept all junk food out of sight and tried not to buy it. What little I did buy for DS was kept hidden away.

missnatalie · 29/12/2008 15:37

Hiya Ladies, hope you all had a fab xmas. DP bought me some scales and there fab. I weighed myself in everyroom on different carpet and the scales gave the same reading everytime. So my new weight is 14st 1 & 1/4 lb. Were going out for a meal on New yrs eve and on the 2nd for my birthday. Im going to try my best not to completly pig out.

Only a couple more lbs to go and im in the 13st area .

Come on ladies lets have one last big push for 2008!! By this time next year we WILL ALL be down to our ideal weights!!!

TheYearOfTheCat · 30/12/2008 15:17

Missnatalie, what a great pressie! Well done too - that's 5lb in just over a month -

Mooandpops how has Christmas been for you?

SpookyCharlotte - Hi, you're welcome to join us, we are taking a few different approaches - Mooandpops is doing GI, MissNat tried juicing, and I am on Reductil and trying to cut my portion sizes (as well as cutting out junk, and alcohol midweek - this bit has gone downhill bigtime over Christmas though ).

nappyaddict · 31/12/2008 01:14

I have been having all my meals on 9 inch dinner plates which has really helped as they are much smaller than my usual plates.

missnatalie · 04/01/2009 21:18

Hi ladies, well tomorrow is day 1 (again) for me. Ive bougt a diet book so i can record what i eat and also my measurements and weight.

I'll weigh myself in the morning and take all my measurements then. By the time January 4th 2010 comes around i will be 11st and maybe even a little less.

MooandPops · 06/01/2009 11:42

Hello the Gals and welcome Spooky Charlotte.

Happy New Year and stop doing so well on your diets - I can't bear it!! Have had a wonderful non-dieting Christmas and am out of control again! Therefore I must reign it in and will be rejoining our combined efforts by the end of this week...am thinking of the juicing thing for a kick start?

Big love

Moo and Pops x

Hi MooandPops, come on we'll do it together. Im not really following any diet. Just cutting out the crap and reducing the portion sizes. nappyaddict the smaller plates is a good idea. Think ill give that one a try.

Ive had to buy myself a exercise DVD as the Wii was getting a bit too easy. DP went out and bought me the Claire Richards (from steps) one. Just completed the whole DVD (45 mins i think) and im knackered but feel a whole lot better. Must be the endorphins (sp?). Going to do it mon-thur whilst DP is at work. DS thought it was hilarious watching mummy jump round and he decided to climb onto my back and stomach whilst doing the situps and press ups. Well his extra weight on me can only be doing good .

Hows everyone else doing? xx

missnatalie · 07/01/2009 15:14

Where is everyone .

Well ive just completed my DVD for the 2nd time this week and i feel great . Was thinking of not doing it today as i was aching all over this morning when i woke up. Glad i did it though now.

Any updates from anyone else?

12StoneNeedsToBe10 · 07/01/2009 15:33

Afternoon ladies - I've only scanned quickly through this thread so I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned or not.

Losing weight the detox way is, IMO, the best way. You have so much more energy, fabulous skin, glowing hair, the longest hardest nails ever and a flat stomach (which I've NEVER had before doing this). "Detox Yourself" by Jane Scrivner is the "bible" I followed. It's a 30-day (minimum) program that you follow. There are the some rather bizarre parts of the program that I chose to ignore, sticking only to the food and exercise parts of it and it still worked. It's strict but fabulous and totally worth it.
Detox Yourself

Am feeling a little yucky at the moment but will be starting this at the weekend and just KNOW by the first week in February that my 12 jeans will be TOO BIG - currently my 14s are too tight
