I have got 2 1/2 stone to lose and really need to get motivated so I am hoping by coming on here and admitting it I will keep it up .

We were ttc for the last few months but have now decided to stick with what we have got so I now want to get ME back , (sods law I will find out I am pregnant )

Anyone want to come and join me ?

I am not following a specific diet other than the obvious
"Eat less crap and move around a bit more "

DS on knee, so just marking where I'm up to and putting this back on my 'threads I'm on'.

Had great time in london, over indulged obviously, but lots of walking. Came accross some scales and weighed myself... Think I've got about 3 stone to lose .

Think I will in fact buy scales and take this more seriously!

Will come back and chat later without wriggly baby...

ErnestTheBavarian · 17/11/2008 13:26

pp - that is me - all or nothing. sigh

bitofadramaqueen · 17/11/2008 17:21

Ernest - sympathy on the holey jeans. I bought some cheap jeans from Next post-pregnancy (I wasn't spending good money on a size 16 pair) and because I wear them every day they have developed a hole. So I'm going to have to buy another pair. I don't even like them!

Only good thing was, I had to wear my maternity jeans today and they're bigger on me than last time I wore them post pg .

Anyone recommend nice jeans, not expensive, flattering in a size 16 on someone with thunderous thunder thighs?

How's everyone's start to the week?

debinaustria · 17/11/2008 21:55

crap - my start to the week - cheesecake, choc brownie, etc etc...

ErnestTheBavarian · 18/11/2008 07:00

Have emptied all summer clothes out of wardrobe, and everything that doesn't fit - and am left with 1 pair of trousers and 2 t shirts.

Am feeling determined again, but desperate. Answer is - buy clothes. but too depressing to get big sizes and feelins like admission of defeat. plus everything looks crap.

come on, we can do it.

are

debinaustria · 18/11/2008 08:39

You can do it Ernest!!!You'll have to or your washing machine will blow up!!

ErnestTheBavarian · 18/11/2008 09:11

funny you should say that - it did last week. 250 bloody euros for new pump

bitofadramaqueen · 18/11/2008 09:52

I have to go buy new jeans today which will be hugely depressing .

Have switched to skimmed milk this week. Small steps and all that... Those who've switched to sweetener - did you use the tablets or the granulated stuff? I think that's my next move.

I've also got one of those cross-stepper thingy's gathering dust in the corner so plan to get that out this week.

Ernest rubbish about your washing machine and your empty wardrobe. I'm a bit the same re: clothes. I've been trying to buy cheap tops from H&M etc to keep me going for a while. It's a bit easier now it's winter - long-sleeved v-neck sweaters being much more flattering than flimsy summer t's!

ThePenguinProject · 18/11/2008 11:36

BDQ - I use the tablet sweetners and they're fine for me.

There's no fun in shopping when you're only buying what fits as opposed to what you actually want is there?

I'm p'd off that I'm not going to lose this week because of my weekend.

bitofadramaqueen · 18/11/2008 11:59

Very true PP on the shopping. My biggest problem is I dont know how to dress for this new shape. Everything I would normally like just doesn't suit.

ErnestTheBavarian · 18/11/2008 12:24

exactly. why do all women's close cling around belly, just to make you feel even more unattractive. Belly must be common problem area - why is it not easy to get belly disguising tops?

ThePenguinProject · 18/11/2008 12:46

The shape thing is so true. I used to be a classic pearshape, which even if I didn't like it, I knew how to dress. Now I'm a lumpy apple and have no idea what suits me...

Also, and yes this is the beginning of another rant from PP, all my tops have to be low cut so I can bf, but bf bras practically come up to your neck. (I know some people lift their top up to bf, but my belly looks like jabba the huts so I can't do that. )

Seriously I think I have to step away from MN, I've become a ranting loonie!

ErnestTheBavarian · 18/11/2008 13:06

but doesn't the baby hide your belly? I feel pretty confident, esp with cardi, that no part of me is exposed at all when bf

But getting a top that's loose enough to pull up... not found 1 thing except a top that's stupidly big, and just makes me look even bigger. sigh

bitofadramaqueen · 18/11/2008 13:15

Why doesn't someone design post-pg clothes?

PP Am not bf so don't have the same problem, cut can you wear a vest type top under your top then pull the vest top down and your top top up to hide your belly? IF that makes any sense at all...

ErnestTheBavarian · 18/11/2008 13:37

I remember some people say they used a pg belly band for this reason? (never tried it myself) I sometimes wear a vest top with a loose shirt over. I pull the vest up, but the shirt still hangs at the sidesfront providing coverage iyswim.

Totally agree re post natal clothes. I've done this 4 times now & it's depressing & a pita

ThePenguinProject · 18/11/2008 13:52

BDQ - It does make sense. I do do the vest thing and it does help alot, but as Ernest mentioned it's finding tops loose enough to pull up that aren't tent sized....

I haven't tried the bunp band thing for months, I'll dig that out this afternoon. Goood thinking.

I mentioned to Dh the other day that I was going to design some post preg clothes...then I panicked and thought that it was just me that needed them!

It just all seems like much harder work than popping into top shop and grabbing a top (without even trying it on) used to be. Ah well, maybe if I keep up the diet and that will be the case again one day. [hopeful emoticon]

debinaustria · 18/11/2008 20:49

Another vote here for post baby clothing. I pull my tops up though and either hide the flab with Ethan or a muslin cloth!

travellingwilbury · 19/11/2008 07:28

Good morning all

Well I have no idea how I have managed it but I have lost 3 pounds so that is half a stone in two weeks

I am really pleased it is the motivation I need to keep me going . I have been a bit rubbish this wk with lots of visitors and that time of the month so a wee bit of chocolate .

How is everyone else doing ?

OP posts:
ErnestTheBavarian · 19/11/2008 07:49

TW - 3 pounds! Well done! Am very very pleased for you. You must be so chuffed¨(May I add ?)

Well I lost - nearly half a pound Was exactly 66 kilos. Today 65.8.
0.2 kilos. woo hoo. Now there's motivation for you.

Still, I might make my goal... by next Christmas.

TW - give me some tips then. You are proving yourself to be our guru. I clearly need a little of what you're doing

travellingwilbury · 19/11/2008 08:04

HI Ernest to be honest I have no idea how I have done it this week (maybe my scales have broken )

We had people here all w/e and drank far too much which always makes me then eat too much so it is a big con this week . I am just hoping it isn't going to come and get me next week .

At least the scales are going the right way for you now . If you weren't doing this you may well have put on a wee bit more so any loss is good

OP posts:
debinaustria · 19/11/2008 08:08

bugger - i'm back to where i started

bitofadramaqueen · 19/11/2008 09:21

Still not bought any scales. Been rubbish this week though, and we have lots of visitors this week then S's christening so noth likelt to get better .

However I have found a local bums and tums type class that I'm trying to get courage to go to. Its in a local church hall, so less intimidating (and cheaper) than a class at the gym hopefully.

Realised it's only about 18 weeks till I go back to work and really need to be in better shape before I go and buy new work clothes!

ErnestTheBavarian · 19/11/2008 12:01

just done half hour on cross trainer.
Shite - going to UK in 4 weeks.

bitofadramaqueen · 19/11/2008 13:33

Ur doing better than me - I've not even got my stepper thingy out of the cupboard

ThePenguinProject · 19/11/2008 17:35

1lb loss....which is better than a 1lb gain!
