As above really

I have got 2 1/2 stone to lose and really need to get motivated so I am hoping by coming on here and admitting it I will keep it up .

We were ttc for the last few months but have now decided to stick with what we have got so I now want to get ME back , (sods law I will find out I am pregnant )

Anyone want to come and join me ?

I am not following a specific diet other than the obvious
"Eat less crap and move around a bit more "

Can I join in too? Am starting to get very depressed about my post-pg body. Have to dash off and write christening invitations but will be back later or tomorrow with some chat!

Enjoy your takeaway PP - Ernest and I are jealous though.

TW - nearly dinner time for you - did you manage to wait or did you succumb to bread?

this is turning into a mini post natal wobbly june thread!

pp - is ds not eating as much atm? Have you started weaning him? For what it's worth, I've bf now 4 babies, and the weight hasn't dropped off me either

Like I said, the other times I waited till I finished bf, then blitzed weight with Atkins, but I can't wait - my jeans are in the wash now, have to wait up for the machine to put washing in drier, so I have them to wear again tomorrow.

Have been 'good' tonight. Actually, considering I have a big bag of m&ms & 1.5 bag of biscuits in pantry, 2 big bags of gummi sweets and half a bag of mini daim bars in my bag, frankly, it's a miracle I limited my giving in at the cake buffet. Had veg soup for tea, no bread.

hia bdq

spongebrainbigpants · 05/11/2008 20:58

Hi guys, , can I join?!

I have put on a hideous SIX stone while pg, have lost two since August but still have a long way to go .

I am doing LighterLife but am crap at sticking to it so a daily diary/confessional could be just what I need. Have a work leaving do tomorrow but hoping to go for a run in the morning (training for a half marathon in March) so hope to cancel out the eating!

debinaustria · 05/11/2008 22:42

off to bed now, only had a fun size(how can chocolate that small be called fun?)Snicker with my cup of tea and 3 cherry tomatoes when I looked in the fridge!!

travellingwilbury · 06/11/2008 06:50

Good morning everyone
Welcome sponge brain

The plan today is muesli and fruit for breakfast , school run and then a walk with the pushchair . As long as I can persuade the ds to sit in the pushchair for a while and not insist on walking with me otherwise its a bit of a pointless dawdle .

swiftyknickers - love the name and congratulations on your weight loss.

TW - good luck with your walk, hope your lo is willing to sit in the pushchair for you so you can walk briskly!!

I've started the day with porridge so am full! Will report back later

bitofadramaqueen · 06/11/2008 09:10

Morning all! Because I knew I was coming on here, I only had olivio on my toast instead of jam.

Ok, a bit about me... Two years ago was a curvy size 10 (although thanks to generous hips and thighs not too happy with my weight). Since then, I changed from a fairly active job to being office based, comfort ate my way through two mc's and then sat on my sofa eating creme eggs through a full pregnancy. DS now 4 months old and I'm a size 16. Those curvy thighs are now truly monstrous and I too only have one pair of jeans that fit. I'm so bloody sick of wearing them everyday. I can't bear shopping (a former favourite past-time) and to be honest, with the realities of SMP kicking in I cant afford a whole new wardrobe. I also have no idea how to dress for this new size and everytime I look in the mirror I see someone I don't recognise at all.

I need to cut out the snacks, get my ass moving and fit back in my clothes. No idea how much I weigh (and don't really want to know) but want to focus first of all on getting into a nice size 14 pair of jeans that I have. I've never really done a proper 'diet' and would prefer to try the 'eat well and exercise' route to start with and see how I get on.

So today I've had some cereal (can't bear it without sugar but only had a very small sprinking today) and tea and toast. No jam on the toast for once, but one spoon of sugar in the tea. Off out this morning for tea and cake with NCT group and will try to resist cake!

Sorry this was a long post, hoping if I put it all in black and white it'll inspire me to make a start. Thanks all for welcomes to the thread!

spongebrainbigpants · 06/11/2008 09:56

swiftyknickers, I have that book on my bedside table but have been too tired to read it!

Sounds great though, maybe I'll be inspired to read it now.

BDQ, I thought I had a sweet tooth! Have you tried going cold turkey on sugar in tea? I did it years ago and have never looked back - now I can't stand sweet tea!

swiftyknickers · 06/11/2008 10:20

READ IT!!

tis fabulous-i am getting married next year and DETERMINED TO BE A SIZE 14 (AM 18)

we can do it ladies!!!

Pinkjenny · 06/11/2008 10:38

OK I had porridge for breakfast.

What can I have for lunch? I need to buy it in Tesco, and I am SICK of chicken. Any suggestions?

Also, if the melon and grapes are bad - what CAN I snack on????

travellingwilbury · 06/11/2008 10:55

Can you heat up soup at work ? Thats always a good lunch when on a diet , especially if you can resist the bread .
I wouldn't worry too much about the melon and grapes , I am sure they are a lot better than you were having this time last last week as a snack .

I have managed to do my walk and had a healthy breakfast so now I just need to decide on lunch and dinner now . One of the biggest problems on a diet is you end up thinking about bloody food all the time

OP posts:
Pinkjenny · 06/11/2008 10:57

I am thinking about soup, I'm just also thinking about the bread. I feel soup just isn't soup without bread.

I can feel ANOTHER chicken salad day coming on.

travellingwilbury · 06/11/2008 11:02

Maybe if you just got one roll and didn't put any butter on it then you wouldn't feel so ad about it .
Its all relative isn't it ? If last week you would have had two rolls with loads of butter then just having one today with no butter is a winner in my mind .
What about a jkt pot ? I actually like them with no butter but with salt and vinegar instead .

OP posts:
Pinkjenny · 06/11/2008 11:04

Oh, yes a jacket pot. Fabulous idea. Sold!

OK, salt and vinegar is just plain odd.

travellingwilbury · 06/11/2008 11:06

I know its odd but it is a potato and so are chips and you would have those with s and v .

It wouldn't be my first choice obviously I would rather have loads of butter and a load of grated cheese but needs must and all that

OP posts:
Pinkjenny · 06/11/2008 11:06

True, true.

bitofadramaqueen · 06/11/2008 16:56

Afternoon all. Well, didn't manage to resist cake (it was someone else's turn to buy the cakes and it would have been rude to refuse ). However, did manage to go for a brisk walk for hour and a half. Quite a bit of it uphill too.

Soup, with very small slice of wholemeal bread for lunch and a packet of snack-a-jacks. Only two cups of tea with the evil sugar today. Sponge I've often thought I should think about giving up sugar in tea but I just can't face it. Does anyone think that sweetener instead of sugar would make a big difference?

Pinkjenny did you enjoy your jacket potato?

debinaustria · 06/11/2008 19:37

bdq - you'll have walked off the cake Im sure

Pinkjenny - dd you try the salt and vinegar idea?

TW - have you had a good day?

Ernest - how are you doing?

I have managed to resist the biscuits today for the 2nd day, but will now have my daily choc fix - fun size snicker again as a treat for getting through the day.I'm feeling very proud of myself just need to up the exercise now - ironing 15 quilt covers and pillow cases only got the arms working!!

bitofadramaqueen · 06/11/2008 20:37

I hope so deb. Have managed to avoid the snacking today so far, but there are a bag of maltesers in the cupboard with my name on. Think I may just have to eat them to get them out of the way! Well done on resisting the biscuits, ironing is a good calorie burner I'm sure. Ironing one set of bedding makes me weary anyway!

Hope everyone else has had a good day.
