As above really

I have got 2 1/2 stone to lose and really need to get motivated so I am hoping by coming on here and admitting it I will keep it up .

We were ttc for the last few months but have now decided to stick with what we have got so I now want to get ME back , (sods law I will find out I am pregnant )

Anyone want to come and join me ?

I am not following a specific diet other than the obvious
"Eat less crap and move around a bit more "

I have done weight watchers in the past and that really worked but like you I just can't get to the meetings now . I have days like that as well when I just eat , mostly out of boredom I think because if I keep myself busy I am ok .
Need to drink loads more water as well because I noticed the last time that I was eating when really I was just thirsty .

I am happy at 11 stone which I know for a lot of people they would still think was heavy but it suits me , I am then a very comfortable 14 and that is fine by me .
I will never be a 10 and thats ok .

I definitely eat out of boredom too. I am a 14/16 at the moment, and aiming to get to 10 stone, which is a size 12 for me. I'd actually quite happily be a comfortable 14 too, but I have a wardrobe full of size 12 clothes, which I refuse to part with!

I need to get back into them. I think it will help me to feel more like myself too!

travellingwilbury · 05/11/2008 10:17

So what is your plan today ? Are you up to anything ?
I am definetly going to turn this thing off in a minute and go and do some housework so I am busy otherwise I will end up snakcing on something .

OP posts:
Pinkjenny · 05/11/2008 10:24

I'm in work, which is a danger zone as there isn't an awful lot to do. The main thing I have to do is NOT buy sweets or cakes when I go and get lunch. I will come back and report what I buy and eat!

Enjoy housework, it always makes me feel all virtuous!

travellingwilbury · 05/11/2008 10:28

Thanks and good luck

Just take enough money with you for your sarnie . I remember that office boredom , 3 in the afternoon was awful for me , someone was always popping to the shop for some rubbish

debinaustria · 05/11/2008 11:33

Just want to report that my snack this morning was nuts and raisins instead of biscuits or chocolate.I know they're still calorific but better for me on the long run and actually more filling. Off to make dinner, will try to curb the urge to eat a slice of toast whilst I make dinner!

Pinkjenny · 05/11/2008 11:34

I'm going to have chicken and salad for lunch. I am SOOO hungry now and I just know I'm going to head for the cakes!

Somebody stop me!

ErnestTheBavarian · 05/11/2008 12:01

I am useless .

Went to PTO meeting at school. Buffet of loads of different cakes. Yes, I gave in. Of course, had 4. Didn't even particularly enjoy them.

Cake and gummi sweets. Those are my downfall. I was so good yesterday. Wail.

And now I have a headache.

ThePenguinProject · 05/11/2008 12:19

Can I join too? I've just weighed myself and I have 2 stone and 4lb (14.5kg) to lose to be back at pre preg weight.

My DS is 4.5 months old and I wore maternity trousers to go in for my "back to work" chat yesterday. I too have so few clothes that I can fit into I was more worried about what to wear than the chat.

Deb - I admitted to DH that I sometimes binged whilst at home during the day a couple of weeks ago. He didn't think it was a big deal, but I know it is to me because I feel so bloody awful afterwards.

I like the idea of low carbing, but I am bf-ing too so have to avoid ketosis. Once I get into low carb-ing, I find my cravings go....although I have white bread toast for breakfast, so I didn't start too well.

travellingwilbury · 05/11/2008 12:35

Well done deb , like you say the calories are still there but it will stop you feeling hungry for longer

Walk away from the cake Jenny

Ernest don't beat yourself up about it , at least it wasn't yesterday and today . Have a good meal tonight and it will all balance out

Hiya penguin , I think we are all running out of clothes , maybe this credit crunch doea have its upside because I have to lose the weight because I just can't afford any more

I have had some soup for lunch but I did have a sneaky roll with it as well . Its just not the same without it . Must get some ryvita , thats a pretty good compromise I think

OP posts:
Pinkjenny · 05/11/2008 12:49

I stayed away from the cakes and am eating chicken and salad. I bought some melon and grapes to snack on this afternoon too.

Think you're right about the credit crunch travelling.

Ernest - I can't begin to tell you how much I ate yesterday. It's obscene. Let's start again today.

ErnestTheBavarian · 05/11/2008 13:33

ok, glad I fessed up.

Must drink more water & move more.

travellingwilbury · 05/11/2008 15:39

It is my dodgy time now

I need to keep away from the kitchen

We don't eat until late , my oh doesn't get in till half 7 .

OP posts:
ErnestTheBavarian · 05/11/2008 16:08

me too.

got bad headache def 'diet' related, but that also inc. not having had tea, so could be caffeine withdrawal

travellingwilbury · 05/11/2008 16:14

Have you had enough water ? I know I get headaches when I am dehydrated .
I have just had some Quavers which isn't too bad , could have been much worse

I hope your headache gets better soon

OP posts:
ThePenguinProject · 05/11/2008 16:36

Why don't you have tea Ernest? I find having endless cups of tea helps. It means that I have something to do (make a cup) when I find myself wandering into the kitchen. I either have a cup of tea or pint of sugar free squash.

Hmmm, quavers sound yummy and you're right, they're pretty good calorie wise TW.

Just realised tonight is take away night...I think I may start this on Monday. The challenge will be not to stuff my face for the next 4 days...

debinaustria · 05/11/2008 17:05

Those PTA buffets are a bugger Ernest, it would be rude to resist!Good luck tomorrow, how's the headache

Wilbury - waiting till 7.30 would drive me to snack, well done for just keeping to the quavers so far.

PinkJenny, am impressed by your snack food today.

I have managed so far without snacking , oh no, that's a lie I had a ricecake whilst I made lunch - but you can't count that as today for a change I didn't have it loaded with Philadelphia cheese! My worst time is when the children are all in bed and Dh and I sit down to watch TV.

This thread has really helped me today -thanks Wilbury.

ErnestTheBavarian · 05/11/2008 17:19

I've been trying to stick to fennel tea. Since I had dd I've gone of real tea - Went off it completely ( ) but have built up to one or 2 cups in the morning, but didn't have time today cos of boring PTA, pah.

wrt snack food, grapes and melon are v. low gi, (or is that high?) anyway, full of sugar and v. little fibre so watch out if you have a sweet tooth, as it'll leave you craving more sugar before you finish the last grape.

Deb, dh is a real evening snacker, can't resist crisps. I'm not that bothered about snacking in the evening once I'm done, it's the picking at stuff all evening as I'm getting dinner ready that's my problem, but never sit & snack in front of tele.

Not drinking enough water.

debinaustria · 05/11/2008 17:20

hi PP glad you found the thread

ErnestTheBavarian · 05/11/2008 17:24

take away

(Hi pp )

travellingwilbury · 05/11/2008 17:24

Penguin , stick with the wednesday thing . It can be your treat after weigh in . You can do some low (ish) cal take aways . Tandoori chicken is great for a diet as its really filling and no sauce .
Shish (sp?) kebabs are also good .
It doesn't matter if you have a take away but I wouldn't change the day otherwise like you said you will eat too much the next few days thinking you are starting on monday .

OP posts:
ThePenguinProject · 05/11/2008 17:40

Ernest - I love fennel tea, but as my milk supply seems to have gone haywire, I daren't risk it.

Waves at Deb (PP recoils in horror as her bingo wings continue flapping after shes stopped waving).

OK TW, you're on. I will enjoy this take away (it is v unlikely to be a low cal one although I like the kebab idea...) and start tomorrow. That'll give me 6 good days until the next weigh in.

I'll be back tomorrow - enjoy your evenings. And no snacking.

travellingwilbury · 05/11/2008 17:42

Glad you are staying Penguin

Just imagine how nice next weeks will taste after being well behaved for most of the week

OP posts:
ErnestTheBavarian · 05/11/2008 18:02

pp, fennel tea good for bf.

can you get bf tea in UK? V. good.

How do you mean gone haywire - low supply or ?

ThePenguinProject · 05/11/2008 18:27

Definitely not low supply. I've started leaking again, a lot. If only the old "all your baby weight will drop off when you're bf" thing was true for me....[hmmm]
