Its really quiet on the weightloss threads at the moment. I've joined a couple of threads but there doesn't seem to be much action on them so I thought I'd start one of my own and see if anyone else is in the same situation.

I'm determined to lose a stone by Xmas and am going to achieve that by basically cutting down on the crap, reducing my evening meal portion, doing some exercise and eating nothing at all after my dinner (I've lost a stone recently but have stayed the same for a good few weeks now)

Hi everyone,
I've had a good week this week, lost another two pounds - hurray and am grateful for everyone's support. Also had no car this week so I've walked miles with the pushchair.
Hope everyone else is doing well.

whyme2 · 13/11/2008 10:19

I also had a look at the slimming4mums website. The whole thing sounded quite sensible and helpful.

JustKeepSwimming · 13/11/2008 15:14

whyme - well done
and tyme - sounds positive for you too

i haven't done so well, blaming it on the friend who brought chocolate eclairs and biscuits around the other day
went back to 10,5 on the wii fit

have been good since and even took satsumas to playgroup so i didn't eat biscuits there, and gave back a biscuit i hadn't asked for at bf group
so hoping for a 10,4 tonight.

need to get walking though to really shift things i think.

Tyme · 14/11/2008 08:35

Well done Whyme! Thats a good loss. Walking a lot definitely helps. How much have you lost so far?

I've lost another lb. That makes 8 altogether and the difference is amazing. Dh was just saying yesterday that I was looking good and a friend commented that I'd gone down to pre-ds2 weight (but post ds1 so still not ideal but getting there!)

I do still need to lose about another 1.5 stones.

Don't worry Justkeepswimming. Just get back on track afterwards. Thats what I've been doing. I've had a few days where I've eaten loads of cakes etc but have reduced cals the next day to compensate so I've still been losing.

Keep it going everyone. Every lb lost is an improvement! Get those clothes feeling loose!

Don't give up Justkeepswimming. I had a really bad weekend and ate loads but I decided to keep going and this weke I've lost 3 lbs. I've only lost about 5 in total (and have another 3 stone to go )

JustKeepSwimming · 14/11/2008 12:56

Thanks you 2

So Tyme you've lost 8lbs? wow that's good
Whyme2 - you've lost 5?

Can't remember what starting weight i started at on here but when i started trying to lose weight (in jul i think) i was 11,7ish.
Didn't do my wii last night, will do tonight, but think i am now about 10,3 or 4.
Ok i started here as 10,6. so not much, 2lbs max!

ah well. all my antenatal mums are being v complimentary about how i am disappearing in front of them

need to remember to say the same to them when they lose some as it's v encouraging when others notice.

every now and then i measure my hips/waist and i've lost more inches since mid-oct, yey!

resisted biscuits at playgroup again .

list:
JKS 10,6 now 10,4 (will check later)

Tyme · 14/11/2008 14:01

Well done JKS! So, you've lost more than a stone. Thats brilliant. Well done resisting the biscuits too.
I think I deserve a pat on the back too. I resisted Krispy Kremes (sp?) and Thorntons caramel chocolate biscuits at work! That was a huge effort of will but I I had a bunch of grapes at my desk so ate those instead. Thank goodness for them!

Well, I was 12stones and 8lbs at Easter and am now 10st 6lbs.

I've been dieting on and off since. I usually started a diet and managed to lose about 7lbs then I'd get fed up and relax a bit, would maintain for a few weeks then start a diet again. Its been slow but I'm glad I've been doing it. I just wish the weight would disappear overnight
If only.

I agree with compliments being encouraging. Its so nice to hear when other people notice your hardwork!

Hi everyone,

Not been on for a while. I have been so busy this week and will be until xmas but will try to report in.

I didn't lose anything this week but at least I stayed the same weight. The last few days I have been quite anxnous about a couple of things so it is suppressing my appetite. No bad thing then.

Well, good luck with the weekend, hope everyone can resist temptation,

Congratulations to all those who have lost weight.

Tyme · 15/11/2008 23:35

Weekends are always bad for will power. didn't do too badly but had cheesecake in the evening. If there's one thing I can't resist, its cheesecake!

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

OP posts:
whyme2 · 15/11/2008 23:56

Quite agree - weekends are bad for diets. We went out for lunch and I couldn't resist the choc fudge cake hhmmm delicious. Back to the grindstone tomorrow.
Colie - well done for not putting any weight on. At least your efforts are not wasted. Hope you have a better week.

colie · 16/11/2008 21:11

whyme2 - thanks. Hoping to take it all in my stride this week.

Weighed myself today and have lost 1-2 pounds since wednesday, which is weigh in day. So, really I have not lost weight and am trying to curb my excitement until wednesday.

Food wise I have been excellent this weekend but can't say the same for the old drink.

Anyhow, hope we are all revigorated for the week ahead.

Tyme-I love strawberry cheesecake. You have reminded me to get it in for xmas day now.

JustKeepSwimming · 18/11/2008 19:44

wooho - 10,3 on the Wii tonight
lowest weight & BMI (24.44) since we started, hoorah!

am having chinese and wine tonight though so may skip tomorrows weigh in, lol!

how are you all doing???

Tyme · 19/11/2008 08:13

Well done JKS! Thats brilliant!

Good luck Colie with todays weigh in! You sound like you're doing really well too.

I'm waiting til Friday to weigh in. I've been very good over the last couple of days.

I feel like I've such a long way to go still. Ideally I'd like to lose another 1.5 stones. I'm not very tall so any extra weight really shows.

I'm going to keep at it as I know it'll be worth it. I will look better and be healthier.

Keep working, ladies. We're all getting there!

OP posts:
colie · 19/11/2008 15:46

Well, I am posting so I must have good news . Lost half a pound. So have lost 6lb since starting. Would need to check the date I first posted as that was when I started but reckon about 4-6 weeks ago. Not bad really.

I actually ate more yesterday than I had for days so am very pleased.

Tyme · 21/11/2008 08:47

Well doneColie!

I lost nothing this week and stayed the same. This always happens to me. I lose around 1/2 a stone then I just stay the same for a while until I go really, really strict.

Its really annoying as I'm not being bad at all. I've not been having any junk at all and have only slightly increased my portions (they were tiny - literally about 5 tablespoons of dinner, soup (hearty one but not creamy) only for lunch, 1/2 a slice of toast, apple and banana for breakfast.

Well, I've lost 8lbs since the start of this and look so much better.

I shall try a 3 day juicing thing again Maybe that'll kick start me.

Are you all being good? We've still got time to lose a few lbs and look better in our clothes! Keep at it!

OP posts:
whyme2 · 21/11/2008 22:54

I've had an okay week but haven't lost any weight. I feel loads better and my tummy has shrunk a bit. I think it must be all the walking - nearly five miles a day.
I'll try harder next week - 4 weeks to go!

JustKeepSwimming · 26/11/2008 18:58

10, 2 on Wii tonight

baby steps.....

whyme - good walking! i wish my tummy would shrink, it's so saggy and flabby, yuk!

Tyme - i get plateaus as well, sometime i have to DO something to get moving again and sometimes it seems to do it on its own iykwim?

Colie - well done you

so under ten stone is in sight.......

come on less than a month to go (though i'm not convinced i'll get to 9,7 by christmas but aiming for less than 10 and staying under 10 throughout christmas)....

Tyme · 27/11/2008 09:04

Well done JKS, that sounds good.
Whyme - you've probably toned up, lost fat and gained muscle. All good news

I seemed to have gained 4lbs which I am very unhappy with seeing as I haven't over eaten (I've relaxed a bit but not enough to have gained 4lbs in a week grr!). I think I'll have to get ultra strict to get things moving again.
Oh, and up the exercise.

OP posts:
colie · 27/11/2008 22:38

Tyme- that is a shame about the 4 lbs. Have you definately weighed yourself at the same time of day in the same clothes?

Still plenty of time to lose it before xmas.

I have either stayed the same this week or lost a small amount (like half a pound). Trying to keep myself happy with the half full glass theory, at least I have not gained weight.

I am trying to convince myslef that I am quite happy with my weight, think I am. Definately don't want to put anymore on for a while.

Bought my xmas party dress (very pricey for me as £65) and it is quite flattering. Has plenty of material in it to cover my stomache area .

Good luck everyone with weigh in's and keeping up the healthy eating.

had a look at slimming4mums and does sound good.

whyme2 · 27/11/2008 22:49

hi everyone,
I've only lost 1lb since last time I wrote and that is due to a bug!. DS had a birthday with nice cake. Also we've all been ill so no walking to school either. But I'm aiming to be under 14 st by xmas.
I'm trying the slimming4mums plan. It seems quite easy so far.
Sounds like everone is doing well.

Tyme · 28/11/2008 10:05

Good luck with the slimming4mums. You'll have to tell us how effective it is.

It came to me after I'd written my post here, that the 4lbs gain may be something to do with the fact that I've just stopped bfing. I was only doing 1 night feed but it must have been burning some cals for me!
I think I may need to reduce my cals or up my exercise (which is virtually none at the moment!) to compensate.

Good luck everyone! There's still time to look slimmer than you do now!

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimming · 30/11/2008 09:17

10, 1 on the Wii last night

and 9,13,6 on our scales upstairs this morning
(it measures the ounces too!)

So def under 10 stone for Christmas, now to aim for 9,7...

i've stopped feeding at night (just had enough one night and decided that was it!) as ds2 now 10months old.
Bf for me weirdly keeps the weight on and every time i drop a feed i lose some weight. was the same with ds1 so it works differently for everybody.
I like it in a way as every feed dropped is a step to getting my body back and a few more pounds off feels more like my body iykwim!!

still no sign of anything looking more 'toned' though may actually have to get moving one of these days...

oh and wearing another pair of pre-pg2 trousers today

itsdarkinhere · 02/12/2008 22:31

Ok, can i join you. I am currently 11st 6lb, would like to be 10st 6lb.

JustKeepSingingCarols · 04/12/2008 09:05

Itsdark - welcome
How are you losing weight? diet/exercise/etc?

I am eating less - not calling it a diet as such just changing habits from eating for 2 when pg & eating too much when bf for the last 40 months

on the upstairs scales i was 9,12 this morning - not counting it until the Wii puts it on the graph but i am DEF under 10 stone now, hoorah!!!

May still make 9,7 by Christmas.....

gothicsanta · 04/12/2008 09:12
