Welcome ladies of the Due August 2008 thread. Today is your day to begin REDEFINING your Post-Baby Body.

Please take a moment to STATE your SHORT TERM goal(s) and to STATE your LONG TERM goal(s) for overall health. This may include a weight you would like to reach, a fitness level you would like to attain, or size you would like to fit into.

I ask that you post at least twice a week. First to state what you plan to do during the week to reach your above goal(s). Then an end of the week post to let us know how you faired. BE HONEST! This is a SUPPORT THREAD so if you didn't find time to run a mile, admit it. Maybe someone else did the same and needs a running partner...thus a MEET-UP a might solve the problem. If you went above and beyond your expectations for the week, tell us and be an inspiration.

Now let's get started.

5lbs plus or minus can be anything from water retention to poop in the intestines or clothing or even scale error. Bottom line...it's not a worry. Change happens in ways that scales can't show us. Just believe in yourself and what you're doing. The run is excellent. Keep it up. I promise you'll be happy with the outcome!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope you have more sun there.

6.5K in 48 minutes this morning but very very stiff and I walked a bit. DP said better to go for length in time, not worry about measuring distance. I am really really pleased with what I've done the last couple of weeks, very keen to keep it up. Feel loads better for it.

I suppose you and Sazz are swimming and sunning and gossipping and generally feeling fab. V but v for you both. x

TwilightSurfer · 19/03/2009 05:21

Smart DP you have there. I go by time as well.

Sazzles has swam laps each day in our pool but me nothing. I have carried Reese up three floors at least 5 times a day. That probably equals 30 minutes on the stairmaster while holding a medicine ball. I am really grasping at workout straws aren't I. LOL

Ducky, a. you are on hols and b. you have probably done more than everyone else on this thread put together - so you don't need to clutch at workout straws!

(not that i have much to report, mind )

VintageGardenia · 24/03/2009 16:17

Helloooooo

I have only a 3K (20 mins) run on Sat to report, hoping to get something in tonight.

Other than that I have also not been drinking my water as been out & about a lot & can't manage 2 litres of water without running to the loo the whole time & not very convenient when finding one with ds.

And have been eating a lot of white bread & butter etc all that food of the devil stuff.

However I am still motivated to run...

LOL

VG we must be mentally connected. Over the last two days I have eating an entire loaf of white bread all by myself. I sat her Friday night pulling chunks off and dipping them straight into the Country Crock dish. No shame. No shame. DH walked by and started to say something but I shot him daggers with eyes and he kept his mouth nicely shut. The bread and butter were so yummy with cup of tea though...I just kept going back for more and more and more.

DH made a second fresh loaf tonight. Italian. I'm not sure if I can ignore the fact that there's some left after dinner.

On a healthy note: I did a 10 minute run/walk and 10 pushups before dinner. First exercise attempted since a week before leaving for the beach.

Sazzles weren't we going to try and exercise a bit while on vacation???? LOL! OOPS...next trip we'll do a little yoga so we can set a good example for the thread.

SUNDAY MORNING ROLL CALL!!

State your name and your weeks ONE exercise goal.

Let's keep it simple and slowly ease ourselves back into the fitness mindset.

Dear HOTMAMAS

I have been cr*p at exercise recently, the uncontrollable tiredness prevents it. I have rowed a few times but very little walking or pilates or anything.

Feeling a tad chubby! and all this excercise wasn't doing anything anyway.

I'm going to eat french toast with maple syrup and some streaky bacon (just to get myself in training for NY!)

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 30/03/2009 17:58

HELLOOOOOOO I am back

I am still aiming for 12,000 steps min a day.
I have done much more on walking the last 3 days. I am back in the gym.
Will be on the pole tonight, so will report in after.
I aim to drink more water too.
I have a big walk planned tomorow same as every tuesday.

On a good note I weighed myself today and I have managed to keep off the 11lb I lost when I was sick.

I was v suprised.
So I plan to shift another half a stone too. MUST TONE UP THOUGH.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 30/03/2009 21:46

Yeah been in the gym. 40 min on pole, 35 min on treadmill, bike, few weights etc...

Feel so much better.
will no doubt ache like mad in am.

Thanks sazzles I ache like mad today.
Feel like I did 100 situps but in fact didnt do any of those. Think its pulling/swinging on pole that does it.
I have walked Miles today, sadly not sure how many but I am shattered.
I have yet to find a pool with a creche.

Tomorrow I am off to be puncished for my sins at the personal trainer! blah

chequersmate · 09/04/2009 11:54

Hi, does anyone mind if I join? Have an August DD and managed to put on weight breastfeeding her, grr.

FINALLY starting to shift it now after seeing the dietician at my Dr's surgery - have lost half a stone in the last month and have a stone left to go. Want it gone by summer

cyteen · 09/04/2009 11:59

Hi chequers

I've been an absentee again as nothing exercise-y going on, but am going to join the gym shortly (hopefully next week). DP joined recently and I have been very jealous of his swims and workouts.

chequersmate · 09/04/2009 12:04

Hi Cyteen

Am v jealous of you joining a gym - my membership got credit crunched, unfortunately.

The only exercise I'm getting at the moment is dog walking with the pushchair, but that is normally an hour and a half a day, so better than nothing!

Have you much/any weight to lose?

cyteen · 09/04/2009 12:11

Not as such (I don't weigh myself or owt), am happy with my size but just want to be fit and firm, not flabby and wheezing

Lots of walking here too so at least my bum and legs look good. Not to mention lugging my giant DS around which is a workout in itself.

TwilightSurfer · 09/04/2009 22:32

HI!!!

I will officially be back here on Sunday. Until then WOO HOO!! Go Ladies Go Ladies Go Ladies!!!

Hot Mamas ROCK!!
