Welcome ladies of the Due August 2008 thread. Today is your day to begin REDEFINING your Post-Baby Body.

Please take a moment to STATE your SHORT TERM goal(s) and to STATE your LONG TERM goal(s) for overall health. This may include a weight you would like to reach, a fitness level you would like to attain, or size you would like to fit into.

I ask that you post at least twice a week. First to state what you plan to do during the week to reach your above goal(s). Then an end of the week post to let us know how you faired. BE HONEST! This is a SUPPORT THREAD so if you didn't find time to run a mile, admit it. Maybe someone else did the same and needs a running partner...thus a MEET-UP a might solve the problem. If you went above and beyond your expectations for the week, tell us and be an inspiration.

Now let's get started.

Aren't kegels pelvic floor exercises?

Ok day. list of food today includes only a mini pain au chocolat, a mini kit kat and, so far, 3 rolos (rest of packet in imminent danger however). Did go for a 90 min walk with DD2 in the sling, without a cake/coffee pitstop midway round, so chuffed with that.

Anticipate that tomorrow will be bad as coil being fitted in the morning. Therefore DH at home to look after DDs and I intend to exploit the opportunity to take a back seat and make him feel grateful for me taking the contraceptive burden again. Looking forward to a day of sofa lounging accompanied by copious chocs. (Am blanking out the actual coil fitting bit).

ataraxis · 24/09/2008 22:59

Sulking.
Thought i was about 10st 10 but turns out I am actually 11st 8 . Bloody Wii fit telling me how much I weigh.
At least DH's first remark when he saw was 'well I don't know where it is cos you're not showing it'. Bless him .
So definitely have my work cut out.
Target: 10st 4 before Christmas.

TwilightSurfer · 24/09/2008 23:42

Wii Fit tell you your weight???? Interesting. Might need to get one so I can get DH fit.

ataraxis · 25/09/2008 09:28

yep TS - weight, BMI and you set a target and timeframe... no escape with this one. But I did notice that DH decided against trying it in front of me ....

eviz welcome .

VintageGardenia · 25/09/2008 09:38

Welcome eviz so your dd is nearly 3 months! Wow. My boy is 8 weeks on Monday.

Someone tell me how the Wii Fit works? And will my DS1 want it all the time? Is it a gimmick or my path to a svelte silhouette?

VintageGardenia · 25/09/2008 09:45

This site is useful you can plot your route and it'll measure the distance for you. So after you've powered along with the pram you can smugly work out how many bowls of Crunchy Nut cornflakes you can have. I walked 2 miles this morning so figured I should have 3 bowls hmm but bravely only had 1.5.

TwilightSurfer · 25/09/2008 11:34

Eviz, you may join our thread if you like. We are a group of ladies who've been together for a year (while pregnant) having all just given birth last month (more or less). We decided collectively we needed a thread to help support our post-natal body reformation.

VG cool tracking link!! I had a pedometer thingy but haven't a clue how to use it to count my steps.

TwilightSurfer · 25/09/2008 11:51

I checked out the Wii website. I think it's nice BUT probably not what would work for me (or DH). I'm trying to simplify....the Wii would be going against that.

CaptainCaveman · 25/09/2008 12:15

Hello eviz and welcome to our thread . It's a pleasure to have you join us.....you should spy what we wrote on the ante-natal threads though....what a ripe old bunch

So far today, fruit, cereal and a couple of cups of tea. Am off out this afternoon for a walk round the lake - hey, I might even do it twice

I like my wiifit but I wish the f*cker would stop telling me that I'm OVERWEIGHT. ffs, like I don't know that!!

longwayfromhome · 25/09/2008 12:16

unrecordable number of biscuits yesterday, but a whole celery cut up and ready in the fridge for today.

sarahnh · 25/09/2008 14:30

i am now really tempted to buy a wiifit although don't want them telling me i am overweight..

eaten so far today 2 fruit and fibre cereal cake bar ( reason they taste like cake but have loads of fibre in them) and a salmon light lunch... oh and some sugar free wethers orginial toffee candies!!! well they are sugar free..

i have walked to the shops and back with a screaming baby too.. had to carry her around the shops and all the way home whilst lugging a heavy pushchair and shopping.. surely that warrants and lots of exercise

FoghornLeghorn · 25/09/2008 14:49

Jeez all you guys are tiny compared to me OK, here goes .....

Current Weight - 12st 7lb
Short Term Goal Weight - 11st (preferably in the next 6-8 weeks)

will make you all feel better and post my weight once am weighed next week

CaptainCaveman · 25/09/2008 16:17

Feeling virtuous after 30 mins brisk walking . Wiifit says I'm still overweight , cheeky bastard!

dizzydixies · 25/09/2008 16:18

CC, I bought one for dh's bday, the box is sitting looking at me so far

CaptainCaveman · 25/09/2008 16:29

the step is quite good fun but the running just hurts my norks and moves my breast pads to where they shouldn't be!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 25/09/2008 16:53

lol CC
how much is the wiifit thing?

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 25/09/2008 16:55

Found my pedometer out today and blew off the dust.
Only managed 7,858 steps, is it something like 10,000 a day for fitness and over 12,000 for weightloss.
Sure I got that from somewhere.
Got lot more to get in today then.
Mind you I didnt put it on whil 2.00pm.

cyteen · 25/09/2008 17:13

i'd just like to remind everyone that i'm not starting this health and fitness drive till after my 6 week check. so my lunch of pizza and chocolate fudge sundae was entirely guilt-free

well I have managed to saty away from the crisp cupboard for the last 2 and a half days.
Believe me when I say that is good for me.
I have been snacking on raw carrot still, the crunch seems to do it.
however I had a full nan bread yesterday and I am about to have the other one for tea today, as I am currently cooking dahl for the first time ever, never cooked lentils before. hope it turns out ok.
