Welcome ladies of the Due August 2008 thread. Today is your day to begin REDEFINING your Post-Baby Body.

Please take a moment to STATE your SHORT TERM goal(s) and to STATE your LONG TERM goal(s) for overall health. This may include a weight you would like to reach, a fitness level you would like to attain, or size you would like to fit into.

I ask that you post at least twice a week. First to state what you plan to do during the week to reach your above goal(s). Then an end of the week post to let us know how you faired. BE HONEST! This is a SUPPORT THREAD so if you didn't find time to run a mile, admit it. Maybe someone else did the same and needs a running partner...thus a MEET-UP a might solve the problem. If you went above and beyond your expectations for the week, tell us and be an inspiration.

Now let's get started.

Sorry guys can I have a week off please due to being sick? Have done nothing other than drink water & order Paul McKenna. However I have rather bizarrely lost 2 pounds.

TwilightSurferGoIreland · 07/02/2009 21:03

VG you do not need to ask. Caring for your health and well being takes many forms. Rest is one of those, especially when ill.

I look forward to your reports on the Paul McKenna tape.

hotterpotter · 10/02/2009 17:17

OK just checking in otherwise I'll forget what I've done/not done by Friday.

Water - on target so far
5-a-day, only managed one better get the grapes out tonight
Walking - 7 miles so far

Good job I didn't include a target for reduced chocolate consumption

VintageChampagneAndGardenias · 11/02/2009 08:37

Checking in too or else this is going to drop off my threads. Well done on the water, hotter.

Feel great for having exercised yesterday, felt so rubbish with my chest the last while, is good to be up and at 'em again. I'm doing my lovely six-miler this morning with a friend so hopefully my targets will be ok by Friday except for the tennis which is surprisingly awkward to organise.

VintageChampagneAndGardenias · 11/02/2009 08:38

Sorry, hotter - and the walking! You've clocked up 7 miles already, good stuff.

TwilightSurfer · 12/02/2009 15:35

toothpicks holding the ends of my mouth up. rubbish rubbish exercise week so far. reese has mucked up her sleep pattern making it difficult for me to function. stress over the kitchen has me cowering in the corner. add to all that a new schedule for dd1 has eaten up some of my me time. i will be thankful now that my body is basically where i need it to be and the exercise program is for my mental health and post-pregnancy rehabilitation only. see i can find a silver lining.

great job vg and rotter (honestly i like the hotterpotter name loads better...are you keeping it?). will hopefully catch up with ya'll next week.

TS sorry your timetable has gone haywire this week. You've put in such fab work so far though! I am considering this a good week for exercise for me and when I compare it to what you would do over a similar timeframe I am . Delighted your body is where want it to be . V satisfying. Bon courage over kitchen weekend, etc!

hotterpotter · 13/02/2009 13:10

TS you have surely done plenty of exercise demolishing your kitchen, non?

Not too bad on the exercise front here, but a really crappy week sleep-wise means I have not been eating good food, rather buttery toast and chocolate spread out of the jar in an effort to keep going...

So,

  • 1l water 6 out of 7 days
  • 5-a-day f&v only 2 out of 7
  • walking 13 miles
  • aerobic exercise (Wii fit) 20 minutes

Same targets for next week, although it's half term so won't have the excuse of going to nursery to get my miles in. Better get on the Wii now...

TwilightSurfer · 13/02/2009 19:19

just slot me for
ZERO
this week

i'll use the same targets again next week in the HOPES i achieve SOMETING.

OP posts:
VintageChampagneandGardenias · 13/02/2009 19:24

Bonsoir.

Water - 2 litres per day YES
Swim - nil
Pilates - nil
Walking - 2 miles per day plus one longer one approx 6 miles YES hurrah
Crunches - nil
Press ups - nil
Cross-trainer - 2 x 45 mins per week - 2 x 30 mins
Tennis - 1 x per week to replace aquaerobics which turned a bit crap NO bother
Weight loss - minus 2 lbs, jolly good.

Am realising that if I took crunches and pilates and pressups off my targets, as I never do them, I would get a better weekly percentage.
