Welcome ladies of the Due August 2008 thread. Today is your day to begin REDEFINING your Post-Baby Body.

Please take a moment to STATE your SHORT TERM goal(s) and to STATE your LONG TERM goal(s) for overall health. This may include a weight you would like to reach, a fitness level you would like to attain, or size you would like to fit into.

I ask that you post at least twice a week. First to state what you plan to do during the week to reach your above goal(s). Then an end of the week post to let us know how you faired. BE HONEST! This is a SUPPORT THREAD so if you didn't find time to run a mile, admit it. Maybe someone else did the same and needs a running partner...thus a MEET-UP a might solve the problem. If you went above and beyond your expectations for the week, tell us and be an inspiration.

Now let's get started.

Just a quickie from me - totally failed to go swimming tonight as stupid website didn't make the timetable clear, grr - I got there thinking I had ages only to be told there was an aquaerobics class starting in 10 minutes Got home to find DS refusing his bottle of ebm, so I guess it was not to be. Never mind; DP has a couple of days off this week so we're going to take it in turns to go then

Lots of walking this week though My legs and bum are looking proper!

dizzydixies · 25/11/2008 23:52

ladies, this is meant to be good - am going to give it a better look tomorrow to see if its worth bothering with

Oh cyteen what a pain the arse for you re. swimming.

I went to aquaerobics last night with my friend, it was the worse instructor on so my friend said she' d give me a bit of swimming training instead (I am rubbish and she is excellent). So was all going fine, then she started training me to do tumble turns & I felt nauseous from the tumbling and had to get out of the pool to be sick! oh dear. How pathetic is that?

TwilightSurfer · 26/11/2008 23:51

Cyteen, at least you attempted. The walking is perfectly good so no worries you missed the swim time.

VG, seriously you got sick? OMG! Poor you. I'd probably do the same thing......so I don't plan on trying it.

Dizzy, that is a very nice site. I hope it works better for you than WW. {{{hugs}}}

I've really not done any formal exercises this week BUT I've had sex once a day for three days. (Disclaimer: there's no way anything i've done this week could land me on the Due Aug09 thread.) Now off to see if I can make it four days in a row.

The subliminal messages didn't work so I followed the link... haven't been on here but haven't been getting much exercise in so not much to report. Did do yoga yesterday but have not had time for walking other than a mile here and there.

Thinking of doing ashtanga yoga after Christmas.

sambo303 · 04/12/2008 15:34

hmm VG like you not much to report on the exercise front. Lots to report on the cream teas/chocolate cake/champagne front - holiday for Dad's 70th involved all these and much much more.

back to normal rations now so hopefully a few more ounces will have dropped off by xmas

I am drinking my way through a 2 litre bottle of London's finest tap water though, well done me

I can see my new rebounder through the window on the patio, oh what the heck, I'm going out there right now to bounce a bit - might warm me up a bit too...back later to report on the bouncing

sambo303 · 04/12/2008 16:07

managed 5 mins - body quite wobbly

TwilightSurfer · 04/12/2008 18:51

Well there's proof this thread get's you moving. Great job Sambo! 5min is better than none. Gets the blood circulating.

VG, Ashtanga yoga is the most perfect type for all. Can't wait to hear about you first class.

TS you are so good to us.

TwilightSurfer · 05/12/2008 00:22

I am happy to announce I performed some basic calisthenics last night along with some very very easy moving aerobics. Today I am not bothered by pains so I must have done something right. There's still the ache in my left hip but I'm thinking therapy's the only way to fix that.

My vitamin mix has done wonders over the last two weeks as well. I'm just starting to feel healthier. I'm even craving healthier food choices.

I'm looking over schedules now to see if I might get into some nice class starting in January. If not I'll just continue to do things here at home.

I will admit I have looked my body over in the mirror and find areas that do not please me. I remember this 4th month post pregnancy body image issue with dd1. It will pass. And it will pass quicker if I STOP LOOKING IN THE MIRROR.

for the record...

in my last post: "last night" equals Wednesday night.

Not Thursday night as it would seem since my post appears as a Friday post for you but it's still Thursday for me.

walked the dog

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 07/12/2008 14:48

WOOHOOO!! No1

I just did a combo walk/run outside in the brisk 30 degree weather (-2c). Gotta start moving again. Fingers crossed my hip won't hurt tomorrow. I had Britney Spears new tune on the iPod...Circus. It's actually good.

no1putsantaupthechimney · 07/12/2008 17:49

well done TSANGEL I seriously need to get my arse in gear.
only time i have is when there in bed, seeing as they have been up till ten this week.
I am too tired to go in the gym.

no1putsantaupthechimney · 07/12/2008 17:49

i am actualy eating half a wispa, so not really doing myself any favours.

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 08/12/2008 21:31

. Too embarrassed to be on this thread

dingdongmerrilyfromhome · 08/12/2008 22:03

my parents have digital scales and so I could report in stones or in kg any hypothetical weight loss ...

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 08/12/2008 23:00

reportaway longway

MerrySibhmas · 08/12/2008 23:25

Well, I seem to have hit 10 stone -- that's what the scales said on Friday and again today. So that would be half a stone lost since we started this thread.

I'm a bit bemused that the weight loss seems unrelated to what I'm eating or doing, though ...

Still it's progress. Only a stone to go. It would go quicker if I wasn't drinking hot chocolate as I type.

oopsIstuffedaturkey · 09/12/2008 07:46

Morning thread

I have been continuing with the walking and at the moment walking up and down the house/stairs/garden to pack boxes. For every one journey I do 2 one for DD and one for whatever I need to carry.
Promise to be back soon on a more regular basis once move is over!

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 09/12/2008 16:30

well done sibh - it doesnt matter how it's going as long asits going

I am hoping to be down to 10 stone by xmas (have another to go after too )- I've no scales so cant weigh myself, but I think I am reducing, definitely feel an indentation above hips which indicates a waist reappearing - hoorah!

Went fishing for a compliment from dp today, he said I need to start exercising - guess he's not noticed my 'waist' then

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 09/12/2008 22:33

Sibh, Oops and Sambo I am so happy to hear about your achievements.

Sambo, noticing hip bones is an awesome thing!!

Oops, moving is very aerobic. Be careful not to over do it....especially with your cold. Hot chicken soup and rest may be your best friend right now.

Sibh, your doing great! 10 stones is a wonderful weight for almost every frame. Oh and hot chocolate counts as a diary item. We all need our calcium for strong bones.

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 12/12/2008 19:51

hmm this thread's feeling might chilly. Brr

not much to report, except a few walks with pram, lots of water drunk and porridge eaten. Minimal cake/chocolate/cream tea intake. When they said 9 months on and 9 months off I didn't think they meant it!

I am fully booked next week to so no opportunity to go swimming .

I will therefore attempt 3 episodes of bouncing between Monday and Friday !

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 12/12/2008 22:20

{{{{twilight runs in with a space heater. turns it on high. sets out a stack of towels and yoga mats}}}}

HOT YOGA ANYONE?
