Welcome ladies of the Due August 2008 thread. Today is your day to begin REDEFINING your Post-Baby Body.

Please take a moment to STATE your SHORT TERM goal(s) and to STATE your LONG TERM goal(s) for overall health. This may include a weight you would like to reach, a fitness level you would like to attain, or size you would like to fit into.

I ask that you post at least twice a week. First to state what you plan to do during the week to reach your above goal(s). Then an end of the week post to let us know how you faired. BE HONEST! This is a SUPPORT THREAD so if you didn't find time to run a mile, admit it. Maybe someone else did the same and needs a running partner...thus a MEET-UP a might solve the problem. If you went above and beyond your expectations for the week, tell us and be an inspiration.

Now let's get started.

Well all these size 8s and size 12s are sounding excellent, lol at the bouncing boobs sambo, but sounds as if you're doing pretty well. Good clear goals, too, inspiring me to make my new ones for this week:

Drink 2 litres water per day
1 x aquaerobics (Tue)
1 x yoga (Wed)
2 x 2 mile walks (Mon and Tue?)
1 x long walk (min 4 miles) (Thur am?)
2 x gym visits for 30 mins cross trainer and maybe swim if still alive
10 x crunches per day (a la TS)
Be reasonable re food (I am not going further than that lol)

That reminds me, brought ds to the pool! Was all ok with jabs etc so dp passed him to me in the water (wearing Little Swimmer thing) and I held him against my body and gradually let his legs float free. He seemed to enjoy it but got a bit splashed by some enthusiastic children so I didn't prolong it. It was really nice though .

I remember doing that with ds1, the submerging etc, and he loved it, but somehow this time round it didn't seem right with ds2.

Can I please ask you to save your wows till I have achieved something?? Anyone can set goals, you know. And when they've eaten as much tagliatelle and meatballs as I have tonight... goals need to be aggressive!

TwilightSurfer · 16/11/2008 23:50

VG goals are the first step and we cheer you every bit of the way here!!! Incredible effort.

Sambo you too!!

argh - why did i check in here after having 3 slices of toast and jam and most of a bag of those mars choccie things (breakfast )

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 17/11/2008 13:37

albs lol
No one could be worse than me.
Yesterday I had chilli and rice for tea
Then last night had takeaway chicken burger and chips
Now that is greedy, but I was sooo hungry.
why???????????

Oh and it wasnt even nice, no fl;avour at all. But did it stop me shovelling it in my greedy fat face.NO

TwilightSurfer · 17/11/2008 19:24

No1 Chili & Rice is an incredibly healthy meal. BeanS and rice combine to form THE PERFECT PROTEIN. And chicken burger is better for you than hamburger. So you've made very good food choices.

Sorry ALBS I can't be as supportive of your food choice BUT you did check in...that proves you do feel a commitment to the cause which is wonderful.

Okay I went to the health food store this morning to get a vitamin or two. Before I left I ended up at the cafe with a Sunny Bunny & organic blueberry muffin. A sunny bunny is three whole carrots, one medium apple JUICED then mixed with OJ. OMG IT WAS AWESOME!!!! Now I think I need a juicer.

I'm putting myself on a health mixutre of a low dose complex B vitamin three times a day, a dose of L-Glutamine once a day and a dose of a probiotic once a day.

This is a combined formula to help further heal the cs stuff, correct some minor IBS symptoms I now have, and combat stress/depression/anxiety.

I also bought some Omega infused chocolate truffles. YUM!!

Trying to work from the inside out now. Hypnosis for the head, health foods and such for the tummy.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 18/11/2008 08:57

ts you are so lovely, thoughful and encouraging

the juice is similar to one of my favourites.
2carrots
2 apples
few strawberries
mmmmmmmmmm.....
must get my juicer back out now

sambo303 · 18/11/2008 09:33

No1 my favourite juice is similar - 2 apples, 2 carrots, slice of ginger + slice of lemon (peel and all) - very tangy!

and I'll second that about TS's words of encouragement - they make me glow!

TwilightSurfer · 18/11/2008 11:48

just do'n me job.

day two on vitamix. changing it up a bit cause i'm peeing neon yellow....a sign of vitamin overload i believe. so one bcomplex, one glutamine, & one prohibotic. kinda interested in zinc now too. will do more research.

would like to also add SLEEP to my list. 8 hours in a row undisturbed.........

right this is how first weeks' weigh in at WW went today

turned up with Dylan asleep in pram, marvellous am fecking parenting genius! Was early as wanted to be in first 5 to get weighed and get out again as its at 12:30 and have to collect DD2 from nursery at 1pm.

Lady blethers to anyone who looks at her and runs late

I go up, 3rd to be weighed. Have stayed the same as last week - am personally delighted as frankly it could (should) have been a lot worse

she says (read in a condescending tone please) 'didn't manage to get organised this week then hmm?'

I reply 'apparently not'

she says 'do you think you could try getting organised this week then hmm?' (in same tone)

I reply - 'I have been comfort eating for past 7yrs, it might take me longer than a week to get into this but just for you I'll try my best'

meanwhile my friend is standing behind me wondering what to do with Dylan and her baby, both of whom she is holding, when she has to prise my hands from round lady's throat

so, goal for this week - shall try harder

sorry all!

TwilightSurfer · 18/11/2008 23:58

{{{twilight reads dizzy's post, disappears, and returns with hatchet in hand}}}
POINT ME IN THE DIRECTION OF THAT WW's LADY!!!

Dizzy how wonderful that you lasted through week 1 and retained your cheery disposition. In the beginning it is very much about commitment to the cause which you have brilliant displayed. Congratulations on a job well done. Habits do now change in a manner of 7 days but mindset does. Your habits will soon follow your mindset and the weight you wish to loose will fall gracefully off revealing more of the glorious YOU. I am quite proud of you.

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 18/11/2008 23:59

okay you realize brilliant should be brilliantly and now should be not

OP posts:
VintageGardenia · 19/11/2008 09:15

Wow dizzy what a horror. Good for you for actually committing to WW, I must say. I probably ought to do the same but ... well I haven't, obviously. Well done.

OK I've already missed walk and aquaerobics this week but yoga today. Not that that has anything to do with losing weight. Chances of getting to the gym are looking slim (LOL) as DP has a very heavy week at work, but I should be able to do at weekend.

I agree, TS you are fab.

Right, am making a grand re-entry to the thread as DP and I have agreed that we will each have a swim night once a week starting from next week. So I will be going swimming at least once a week - will try and go on a weekend as well.

Not much to report otherwise, walked into town twice but have eaten a large amount of brownies

sambo303 · 21/11/2008 06:11

Cyteen I think you're allowed to eat lots of brownies if you can get into pre pg trousers..

VintageGardenia · 24/11/2008 09:05

1 x yoga (Wed) YES and very lovely it was

TwilightSurfer · 24/11/2008 22:44

{{{{twilight shakes pom poms}}}}
LADIES YOU ARE DOING SPECTACULAR!

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 24/11/2008 22:50

Cyteen, good to see you. Walking is excellent. Add pureed veggies to your brownies like sweet potatoes or spinach, beets or broccoli and they'll serve a dual purpose. For more ideas like that check out this book.

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 24/11/2008 22:51

VG nice!!! Your goals are perfect. You are a shining star.

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 24/11/2008 22:53

Sambo, you too are doing FINE!

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 24/11/2008 22:57

Remember it is the desire to "do" that sets us apart. Achieving every goal on our lists is totally awesome but it's not a priority. Enjoying what you're doing is much more important. If you enjoy things you will be more inclined to continue them.

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 24/11/2008 22:59

Sazzles how's it going this week?
